Wow I assumed Pettine was part of the Ravens 2000 SB team and Graham was part of the Saints 2009 SB. Both missed their teams championships by a year.

He should have never been considered a CB under Dom. Safety maybe, but not a corner. It'll be interesting to see how he does inside.
I kinda get it but I don't get it.
I just don't think he is athletic enough to even play safety in today's NFL

He isn’t real familiar with staying on his feet.
ChilliJon posted:Unless Pettine is going wild hybrid scientist there is no way Rollins is a better option than either Martinez or Burks inside. Rollins is a safety. He’s always been a safety. Josh Jones is a better inside option than Rollins.
Pettine is ****ing with everything.
Until JJ starts showing he can do something other than go for kill shots, line up in the wrong place and mess up coverage assignments, I wouldn't put too much on his plate. Let he and Brice battle it out for the starting safety spot opposite HHCD. Let Burks and QR and maybe Brice if JJ beats him out at safety be the rover/hybrid guy.
Rollins has limitations as we all know but he's a smart, tough kid. Not afraid to tackle. Great ball skills. Just don't have him cover a Sproles-type scat back or fast slot receiver more than 10 yards down the field. IMO QR shouldn't start at safety unless someone ahead of him goes down.
He's a perfect backup right now assuming he doesn't get nicked and could very well feature in a 6 DB package. He can't play safety along with HHCD as somebody on the last level has to have straight line speed plus instincts. (Yes, I miss Nick Collins.)
Go Pettine go!
Pettine is the guy to make that chicken salad according to Rex.
and did I miss the discussion of my boyfriends FOUR INT’s in two days of practice???? FOUR????
What ever happened to Eternal Game Face? That guy had great TC reports.
2 takeaways from my visit to #Packers camp: 1. RT Bryan Bulaga (ACL) has been really impressive in his recovery. Some (me) thought he was on the bubble, but nope. 2. Incredible how fast the new regime changed their approach with FA, trades & being aggressive. Whole new world.

That is excellent news about Buluga. Puts a lot less pressure on scrubs and rookies.

Isn’t this kind of the point of putting a DB/LB hybrid in there? Mart shouldn’t be covering either of those type players either, so if who is covering Sproles if both ILB are incapable? I agree with your post overall, but I think the point of the hybrid player is to be the answer to players like Sproles or McCaffrey. If Rollins or JJ can’t do that, then they shouldn’t play that position.
Cant read anything where McCaffrey is mentioned without thinking of CMIII yelling “watch the wheel route” and Cam was just laughing at him and then McCaffrey runs a wheel route and no one covered him. That Dom was such a rascal.
That's on Matthews. He should have said, "cover the wheel route".
Ah, the English language...
I agree with so many of the comments and I really agree coaching counts and M3 can definitely coach QB's; but QB is the one job in sports that requires so much more than just talent- QB's have to have the vision, arm talent leadership and decision making skills to survive adversity. I have never seen a QB with more talent than Jeff George but look at his career- it takes soo much more than talent. Hundley never seemed to progress and I think Kiser will quickly supplant him. Kiser has more talent and now that he has escaped Cleveland and Hue Jackson perhaps he will learn not to throw the killer pick!
First- round pick Jaime Alexander gets his first INT. Jumps crossing route thrown by Rodgers.

BTW, that may also work as a Presidential defense.
For the love of God and country...Bush is like KIng Tut's curse...keeps getting dug up...hangs around for centuries.

Boyle is raw. Had horrible stats at Eastern Kentucky. But there is obviously something here to work with.
Is he missin about a foot and a half of intestine and going by the name "country"...that would be perfect.
Daniels left practice. Walked off with a trainer. Appeared to be having trouble with his left leg. Worse news. Kentrell Brice just carted off field.
Edit. Daniels back on the sideline. Holding his helmet. Sounds like his day is done but good to hear hes back on the field.
The medical staff needs practice too.

Alexander is easily the early leader to have his first name misspelled by everybody in 2018. Still, it was a sweet move by Jerry to undercut Cobbs route.

Jake Ryan down on the field grabbing his right knee. He’s screaming in pain. Teammates huddled around him. This looks bad. #Packers

Black Monday rolls on. Jake Ryan down with what’s being described as a “significant leg injury”. Second defensive player carted off today.
Rodgers turning the ball over like a drunk Cutler. 3 picks today. 7 total in camp.
Not sure what to make of this. 100% Pettine??? Think I’m going to stay off Twitter for a while.
AR definitely seeing some unscouted looks. At least thats what I'm going to tell myself.

Craig Nall disagrees
Relax, AR is just building the young DB's confidence levels.
Let's hope our opponents see a lot of unscouted looks and we pile up the INTs this year!
Ha-Ha with two picks today. Very strong argument for “100% Pettine”.

Steel sharpens steel.
Sounds like the Packers are getting in to their regular season mode with all of the injuries already.
So it would appear Mike Daniels injury isn't serious, Jake Ryan's is and Kentrell Brice is unknown at this point. Also, Aaron Jones said he should be back on the field later this week.

I wonder how much of this is on the strength and conditioning coach?
Most of these guys train with personal trainers or on their own in the off-season, I believe.

Yeah, let's drag out that old trope.

Yah, you guys realize we are not the only team that gets injuries right?
Ryan’s injury sounds like a season-ender. No word on Brice. Brice was getting the majority of snaps with the 1s at S. So I think you have to consider a look at Eric Reid or Kenny Vaccaro.
