This snippet is from last years' draft write-ups from McGinn.
Its one more example of Andy Reid not caring about having turds on his teams

SCOUTSโ€™ NIGHTMARE

Rashee Rice, WR, Southern Methodist: Has the size (6-0 ยฝ, 205), speed (4.42), athletic ability (41-inch vertical jump) and production (233 receptions, 25 touchdowns) to be a high draft choice. At least one team, however, has removed him from its draft board because of behavioral issues.
โ€œHeโ€™s talented, but he's not a good dude,โ€ one personnel director said.

Jared Goff gets 213 million on a 4-year extension with the Lions. 170 million guaranteed.

The good news is that the Lions are locked into their version of Kirk Cousins for the foreseeable future.

The bad news is that Jordan Love is getting more expensive by the minute.

You nailed it. Detroit really thinks they are that close, eh? Love will probably see $65 million per for six years at least. Yikes. That will bite.

As for MVS, the dude comes up with only one or two difference-maker catches per year and the speed to get there, and he's made it into a nice career for himself.

Indeed

The QB market is just nuts, its like there is only 1 tier and every QB gets that top cash

Of course it doesn't matter how much the Lions pay Goff, only that he plays up to that number. And there's no chance that he will - because he wilts under pressure.  And in the playoffs, you aren't getting clean pockets

He'll be another stat-padding lions QB.

Good, but just not good enough in the clutch to go win a Title.
McVay figured that out, now its Campbell's turn to learn

Here's a clip from NFCCG vs SF.

At the 13 minute mark of the video... its a critical 4th down in the 4th quarter and Meathead eschews the 48 yd FG for the tie... and goes for it.

Goff gets pressured, freaks out,  and lofts a duck incomplete.
9ers take over and the lions are spiraling down the drain.

That's  the Goff the lions are betting on. LOL

With all the players on rookie contracts the Packers would do well to front load Love's contract as much as possible, both to make room for all those rookie's 2nd contracts but also as insurance in case Love somehow regresses in the future.

I'm still waiting for a star QB with a screw loose after his rookie deal to say "eh, $5 million is enough" and be on a "rookie contract" for eternity and basically play with an all-star team every year.

Heโ€™s pulled the Lions out of the trash heap and made them a legitimate contender. Sure he is way too aggressive in game time decisions but you have give Campbell props for what heโ€™s accomplished there so far.

That's fair
- especially since the lions have been irrelevant for decades. I don't see them winning a Title with Campbell, but at least they get to taste a bit of success -  something that has eluded the Ford's for decades

Here's an article from Sharp Football talking about how the cowboys have really screwed the pooch on handling Dak's contract. Jerruh is really getting senile and its showing up on this deal.

"Because of their delay in signing him initially and extending him, Prescott has cost the team $150,626,647 against the cap in the last five years.

Cost against the cap is massive because it hurts the team. They canโ€™t add talent when one player takes up a huge cap hit.

Where does $151 million rank in cap dollars?

Itโ€™s the #1 most of any player in the NFL who wasnโ€™t cut by their team this season and is therefore eating some of the cap space in dead money.

Russell Wilson is the only player with a higher cumulative cap hit over the last five years, but Denver cut him and accelerated his cap hits to this season.

Other than Russ, Prescott stands alone.

And no other QB is close.

His $151 million is $28 million more than Patrick Mahomes, who has hit the cap for $123 million.

Itโ€™s also between $67 million and $77 million more than QBs such as Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow.

These QBs have all made deep playoff runs during those years. Prescott not only hasnโ€™t, but he is eating up more cap space than all of them."

Here's some sobering NFL QB math to consider:

Jared Goff just signed for $ 53M/ yr as the going rate for NFL QBs. For a 17 game reg season, that works out to $ 3M per game. ( !)

On an hourly basis, they earn over $1M/ hr on Sundays.

And if the average QB ( Goff) completes 25 passes per game, then each completion is worth $124 K.

JFC, this is just insane

You could afford 2 Big Mac meals with that kind of money.
