How can the Vikings have only ONE????   I can think of about 10.  "This isn't Detoilet, this is the Super Bowl"  would have been better.

A lot of the viking gaffes came before 2010. 41-0 drubbing by the Giants, Gary Anderson's wide left FG attempt vs Atlanta, etc. Some gaffes were later, though and could've been on the list. One in particular was Kark throwing a 3 yard pass to Hockenson, on 4th down, when the line to gain was 8 or 9 yards downfield. Hockenson's defender tackled him as soon as Hockenson caught the ball. Loved that one! There will be many more viking gaffes to come and when they do come, we can add them to our list!

The biggest gaffes come on the biggest stages.  Which the vikings haven't seen much of since 2010.

Loins now going to start feeling the pain of having good players/cap management...

Whoa. It seems agents/athletes are targeting the second contract as "the big one" rather than the third. ASB will be 25 in October, so the new extension should take him to 30 when production declines. That means a first contract is basically a slot contract depending on draft position, the second is the big one for what should be the prime time for a player, and a third becomes shorter and with less money for declining production.

If that seccond contract becomes the big one, then players nearing 30 and up for a third contract become cap relief for teams. If they are resigned, the contract can be cheaper for less of a cap hit, and it can be shortened to year-by-year so it's wiped off the books sooner.

Soon they'll be calling the NLF the under-30 league.

The Loins also spent another $112M ($85M guarantee) on Sewell for another 4 years.
I realize cap accounting is quite creative, but that's going to be a significant chunk of cap space for just 2 players.
And they still have to deal with Goff sooner rather than later. If he gets an extension, that will be another big chunk.

And not only will they have to deal with cap issues down the road they also have to deal with a meat head head coach.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the Lions fail to reach expectations this season, but they probably have another year before that. I just think some of MeatHead's decisions that made it hard for them to win or lost them games has to be wearing on the players. The locker room will probably give him another chance since the bar was so low in Motor City, but if it happens once or twice, and especially in a big game and/or early in the year or another playoff, that will be the end of MeatHead's career in Detroit.

In Campbell's first season, the Lions were, AGAIN, a joke. Zero expectations and they started 0-10-1.

In Campbell's second season, they were looked at as a joke (again) as they started 1-6. The ended the season on a nice streak but missed the playoffs.

In Campbell's third season, I think the league paid attention a little ebit given the success from the previous season. They started well, ended the regular okay, and made dumb decisions to get knocked out of the playoffs.

They are on most teams' radar now and will be playing a first place schedule. They will not sneak up on anyone. Let's see how his team and coaching holds up with success.

Except for QBs (and kickers and punters). They can play into their 40s.

These WR contracts are insane. The total for all Packer WR's right now is 10 mil.

The Vikings just threw up a little in their pie holes..

Hmmm... it will be interesting to see how Minny fits JJ in at $50 million a year. Or, any team fits him in for that matter. Of course, this also means the market for Love is now through the roof...

True but there is a fine line between being aggressive and being reckless.  Sooner or later the players have to get frustrated with it.

You also have to wonder about the wisdumb of running through a wall to prove your fealty. Its clearly a dumbass move, but I understand the appeal to certain fans - we all know the type.

I’ll take meathead over no balls.  Wait, does that make me gay?

It seems like the intelligent X and O guys have a tendency to be too passive in big situations / games.  Bill B was the clear exception.
