Covington worked 6 years with Belichick. Not that any of his asst coaches translated to head coach success but I like the hire for DL.
I'll go out on a limb here and say that DeMarcus Covington is clearly a better name for a DL coach than Jason Rebrovich.

Ummm, Brennan Carroll has a pretty extensive coaching history in major college football programs and the NFL. He was most recently the OC & O-line Coach for Jedd Fisch at U of Arizona (2 years) and U of Washington (this past year). Both teams had pretty solid offenses. Besides working for his dad at USC and Seattle, he also coached at U of Miami for four years. He's got over 20 years of coaching.
Nate has been on dad's coaching staff for 13 years before becoming the Panthers Passing Game Coordinator last year.
Crony hire - sure. But it's not like they're both newbies to the league.
