King is frisky on Twitter today. Really like the first comment and King’s response.

Allison also had a nice little push-off just before the ball arrived to try and get a little separation. He's developing into a very nice option for AR.
He has that kind of lanky frame with deceptive speed that reminds me of Donald Driver. Hopefully he will continue to develop, there's nothing outwardly impressive about him but he consistently finds ways to win.
Driver was better built than Allison. I know he's tall but that dude looks like a spaghetti western.

The quick hitter passing game definitely helped out the OL. But I wonder if knowing he's not going to be running all over the place behind their back actually helps the OL with their pass blocking. It has to make their jobs a lot easier to put everything they have into stopping a pass rush for :03 vs. possibly pacing themselves to hold up for :06 or longer.

He has to work on that push off, it was a little obvious and most of the time would get flagged. [bearsfan] the fix was in [/bearsfan]

Yes, DH. Agree. Not only that, but they know AR has to stay in the pocket so there’s no wondering where he’s going next. Traditional pocket—step back, set, and keep your ground is a lot easier than step back, set, keep your ground... only to have AR come to your side and now you have to move forward or sideways as AR shifts around.

I like it but others may not be so forgiving.
I thought it was a great post. Just followed him.
Bottom line. Gotta reign him in. Somebody needs to step on his toes about every 4 weeks. That's 12-4, and that's home field advantage. And that's Super Bowl.
Let's see if MM can exceed.
Henry posted:MASSIVE NEGATIVE: McCray and Buluga, particularly McCray, caused Rodgers injury. Not even a question. So you've got a scrub and a guy most people didn't even think would be starting the season due to injury. The Bears already have Floyd and Hicks and now they add Mack. I know, let's not prop up that right side at all. Even after it was abundantly clear the ride side was on rollerskates let's not bring in Marcedes Lewis or offer more chip blocking. It's this kind of crap from McVince that drives me nuts. Don't give me the "Rodgers was holding the ball too long" crap because it was abundantly clear the right side of the line was getting utterly destroyed whether he held it for a nanosecond or an endless epoch.
McCray and Buluga can stabilize and yes, they'll need some help from Rodgers to stop overly long developing plays but that was a frickin' joke.
Agreed, and after seeing the replay 2 or 3 times, it was pretty clear that Rodgers had found the best spot to get down. Just so happened that 3 guys converging on 1 is bad news despite making the wisest choice available.
+ I haven't combed through the entire thread, so idk if this was mentioned. But on Adams TD, he made his juke at the 8 yard line. Four Bears stood and basically waited for each other to make the play. The fact that Davante scored on that from the 8 is outstanding. The icing on the cake is 59 Dick Trevathan was one of the four.

Heart attack in a ****ing mug.
If you die after drinking one of those it should be recorded as a suicide.
I think you get a t-shirt too.

Just watched the All-22. Words cannot explain how bad McCray was in the 1st half.
Also, they need to get Burks or Jones in there to replace Whitehead ASAP. He looked lost.

Just curious, where do you find the all-22 tape?
NFL.com . Game Pass. $100 for the year.
I'm sure if you looked hard enough you could find pirated copies via stream or torrent.
Lots of Twitter comments this morning about how loud the place was on the Cobb TD, particularly after he broke into the open.
It was pretty loud at my house too!!
I got a kick out of this from MM:
“I had my call sheet in the morning this morning, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one like that where you had your first 15 calls in the game and I think we got five of them called,” McCarthy said. “We had a package of offense that was an 18-play package; two of those calls. Just like anything, whether you’re installing your offense in training camp, how you practice it and really the plays you play with over the course of the season, you look at all the preparation going into that game and, really, we were out of it pretty early in the game.”
Hmmm.....
McCarthy seems to be out of it a lot.
I didn't read this entire thread, but am I the only one who (gulp) doesn't think Kizer was awful?? Look, I don't think he was great by any stretch. But I think there were some positives.
There is no excuse for the fumble. Needs to protect the ball. But on the interception, they set up for a screen and the O-line actually did a terrible job. Three defensive players were on Kizer within about a second of the snap. Could've maybe taken a sack. But it he gets the ball past the linemen, that was set up for a big gain.
Aside from the 2 turnovers, I actually thought he threw the ball really well. He made at least 1 absolute terrific throw, tossing a laser about 20 yards for a completion.
He's only been on the roster a few weeks, but I actually think he looked much better in the pocket, had much better vision than Hundley ever had, and definitely threw the ball well. And he moved the chains very nicely against an amped D until the fumble. Pretty certain they would've scored a TD.
I actually feel a little better about Kizer than I did a week ago. And I think he has way more potential than Hundley ever had. Hopefully he won't be needed this year and he'll have more time to learn the system and become a better pro.
I agree that Kizer looked better than Hundley. But then, who doesn’t?
Actually, I did think the same about his throws. I saw less hesitation and gum chewing. I just wanted him to not cause turnovers.

Awesome endorsement.
Not sure if I've mentioned this yet, but Boyle is a better QB.
Yeah, but let’s be honest... we’re ****ed regardless.
+ Aaron Rodgers epic second half.
- If Rodgers had really been gone for the season, (as I was anticipating as he rode the cart to the locker room), the Pack would have had at least a top ten pick, (and likely top 5), in next years draft.

The fumble & the completed pass to Khalil Mack are inexcusable. Eat the ball moron!
I'll say this much ....he's better than Hundley.
So he's got that ringing endorsement going for him.....which is noice....

Get a vet. You want to win games or at least be in them, not Ponder about an on again off again turd with a pretty pass that goes nowhere (Christian Kizer). Saying he's better than Hundley means nothing.
Quit doing the same "potential" **** at QB (QB, kind of important) as was perpetrated at LB. You can either contribute or you can't.

I like that Henry had Ponder and turd in the same sentence.
Let me go back and capitalize for emphasis. Plus, apt example.
Any thoughts on who (QB) might be worth wrangling a trade for at this point? What ever happened to Matt Moore?
The Sons of the Monongahela like the QB room. Frankly, that's an insulting question.
Well, hey. MM's comment about not getting the plays called onto the field is interesting. Did AR change the calls? Did MM make changes to his plan? Wish I knew more about it...
Kind of hard to call the scripted plays when the offense isn't moving the ball.
Fandame posted:Well, hey. MM's comment about not getting the plays called onto the field is interesting. Did AR change the calls? Did MM make changes to his plan? Wish I knew more about it...
I think he meant he had to change the play calls because of the success the Bears were having on defense.
It ain't saying much, but I guess Kizer is the lesser of two evils.
For as much as I wish for him to have some success, his performance was remarkably....Hundley-esque. He looked good moving the ball, but the end result of 0 TD, 1 INT (returned for TD!), and a lost fumble is something we could get from....well, never mind.
With that said, he was (once again) in a near-impossible situation. Nobody was going to have any success playing behind that O-line, at that point in the game.
Yeah, Fangio's script was better than MM's to start the game/first half. That's why you adjust.
MM needs to be better prepared with a "what if" plan. What if they stop the short routes? What if our running game isn't working? What if our scripted plans are trash after two three-and-outs? etc.
The Bears D was successful, so where's MM's backup plan? Waiting until halftime to make adjustments is a recipe for making fourth-quarter comebacks mandatory. It needs to happen sooner.
