Well Hader with the blown save, but this could have been a 3 or 4 run lead.  2nd and 3rd with 1 out in the 3rd and Moose pops up and Braun gounds out.  Bases loaded no outs in the 7th and 1 run scores when Braun strikes out on a wild pitch --  Moose grounds into the FC with no outs, then Brauns ab, then Thames K's.  Missed opportunities.

But last season, the pitching was promising and you could at least sense they could go on a run. They added Moustakas to the lineup, and Yelich caught fire. But the pitching stayed strong throughout, and Knebel came back from the minors throwing fire. Don’t see that this year.

Is it really plausible that the pitching does a complete 180 in August? I suppose anything can happen, but come on... it all started with Knebel going down, and Nelson falling apart after a year out. They just don’t have it this year. I think based on Stearns’ moves, they weren’t going to invest in this season. Shift gears, make some offseason moves to improve the starting staff, and move forward to try to get back to better baseball in 2020.

I'm not too worried about this Brewers team. They made decisions for the longer haul, and things can turn around rather quickly in this division.

Some of these young arms, and rehabbing arms could bounce back and surprise a lot of people. Would be nice to see them catch fire on a run, but, that last Cubs series was a dumpster fire.Kinda felt like that was going to be the case anyways.  Just going to try to forget about it and move on.

BTW, I'll never forget STL being about 16 games out after the All-Star break, Brewers on cover of SI, then that dipshit Niger Morgan calls Albert Poulos a pussy. That fuKcing idiot. Of course, STL stormed all the way back afterwards to win it all...

Baseball's weird, man. This team can come back if we get some pitchers healthy and on point, and their bats come around, consistently.
