I don't recognize any John Grisham writing that isn't about lawyers in the south.

Fun fact.
We used to walk right past his Amelia Island house because it happens to be right next to a public beach access.
Never saw him.
Were I to picture a house that John Grisham lives in, it would be exactly that.
Houser with a great start tonight.
Brewers bats have struggled again.
They have to get Yelich going again. He's now 1 for 15 since coming back to the lineup.
Houser was brilliant. Brewers continue to suck with RISP. And Guerra comes in and walks the lead off batter who comes around to score. This ones on the offense.
Brewers had their chances thatâs for sure. Canât leave guys on base.
As for the pitching, I just continue to be amazed how shaky this bullpen is. Itâs one thing to serve up meatballs (as they have plenty) but itâs another to give free passes in critical situations. You walk guys and it will probably come back to haunt you.
Good news is Houser pitched well and need to keep that up.
Everything in my gut tells me the Brewers are just a tease in term of the playoff race, but I'll still hope for the best.
Houser looks like a keeper. At worst, I think he'd be a very good setup man in the bullpen. At best maybe could be a good #4 starter type and a #3 if you're desperate.
I think Woodruff has shown he's a starter capable of being a #1, #2, or #3 starter. The problem is, he's really the only guy I'd want in those 3 spots. Davies, Anderson, and Gonzalez seem like #4, #5 type starters forced into higher slots than they really should be. For 2 years, 1 as a Padre and 1 as a Brewer, Chacin was a legit #3 type guy, but he'll probably never get to that level again.
Can they find two more starters that are legitimately top 3 slot type starters by next year's opening day? Let's hope they find a way.

I agree. Need more pitching to seriously contend.
Putting up some big numbbers tonight. That 3rd inning was a beauty.
And the pitching gives it right back
Not sure all of the pitching woes are Chris Hook's doing, but he must not be sleeping very well this year . What a train wreck.

I've said this again and again, but they need to spend some money on the pitching staff.
There are 58 pitchers in MLB that make more than the Brewers highest guy (Chacin) does and they spend in the bottom third in the league on their staff.

There are some teams that spend less that do well (the Rays and the Indians), but the overall trend is you get what you pay for.
Of course, they lost a 2-1 game last night.....
Have a great top of the 9th to take the lead and Hader precedes to get lit up again.
Walk, Double, Single, IBB, and then Hader gets a brief reprieve when he throw 2 pitches in a row WAY high and gets a strikeout.
Bases loaded, one out, still tied.

And then strikes out two more in a row.
Tanner Rainey just struck out Hiura on 4 pitches in the top of the 10th.
99 mph, 99, 99, 100
This game is killing me.
For those still watching........
Dude
This may be the craziest game Iâve seen in quite a while.
Saturday Night Special.
Seems they do this every week.
Huiraâs arm is a problem....
I feel like I just survived a car wreck.
I ran out of adrenaline somewhere around the 11th inning, so I couldn't even get excited about the win.
Guerra was the last pitcher available ? Crazy
38 hits in this game.
Huira !!!???
Yelich becomes 19th player in a zillion years of MLB history to hit 40 HRs and steal 20 bags.

Too late to research, but wonder about the 50/30 club?
Brewers use 10 pitchers. Nationals use 9.
Chase Anderson has to give them some innings in a game that starts about 11 hours after last night's game ended.
Driving home from WI last night and listened to the 8th on. Wild game.
Iâd bench Hiura today. That throw on a perfect, tailor made ground ball... wtf dude. Thatâs just a concentration issue. No excuse. You could have cost them a game that had already cost them their entire BP. Get your head in the game kid...
You look at the spot on the bat where Thames hit that HR, itâs up by the Trademark. Most guys thatâs a flyball, and an out. Thames is so friggin strong he muscles it out anyway... pretty amazing.
Loader the bases after 2 outs, but Pina can't deliver.
Adams just did...

So much for that.

At this point, they just need to leave Anderson in and not waste any more bullpen arms. Hernan Perez is probably warming up in the pen.
Pina has left 5 guys on in two at-bats.
Too bad the Brewers got exactly what they didnât need from Anderson today... what ****ing joke. 9-0 in the third? And still havenât retired a batter...

He got 7 outs and gave up 10 runs, 9 hits, and 2 walks.
Pitching Wilkerson is only a small step above pitching Hernan Perez.
12 runs in 3 innings.
They are lucky to win 1 of 2 when the pitching staff has given up 26 runs in the last 17 innings.
LOL. And then Wilkerson gives up another home run.
13-0 after 3. After giving up 14 runs in 14 innings yesterday.
Crawling back into it. Now 13-4
