Brewers had their chances that’s for sure.  Can’t leave guys on base.

As for the pitching, I just continue to be amazed how shaky this bullpen is.  It’s one thing to serve up meatballs (as they have plenty) but it’s another to give free passes in critical situations.  You walk guys and it will probably come back to haunt you.

Good news is Houser pitched well and need to keep that up.

Everything in my gut tells me the Brewers are just a tease in term of the playoff race, but I'll still hope for the best.

Houser looks like a keeper.  At worst, I think he'd be a very good setup man in the bullpen.  At best maybe could be a good #4 starter type and a #3 if you're desperate.

I think Woodruff has shown he's a starter capable of being a #1, #2, or #3 starter. The problem is, he's really the only guy I'd want in those 3 spots.  Davies, Anderson, and Gonzalez seem like #4, #5 type starters forced into higher slots than they really should be.  For 2 years, 1 as a Padre and 1 as a Brewer, Chacin was a legit #3 type guy, but he'll probably never get to that level again.

Can they find two more starters that are legitimately top 3 slot type starters by next year's opening day?  Let's hope they find a way.

I agree. Need more pitching to seriously contend.

Not sure all of the pitching woes are Chris Hook's doing, but he must not be sleeping very well this year . What a train wreck.

I've said this again and again, but they need to spend some money on the pitching staff.

There are 58 pitchers in MLB that make more than the Brewers highest guy (Chacin) does and they spend in the bottom third in the league on their staff.

There are some teams that spend less that do well (the Rays and the Indians), but the overall trend is you get what you pay for.

Of course, they lost a 2-1 game last night.....

Brewers use 10 pitchers. Nationals use 9.

Chase Anderson has to give them some innings in a game that starts about 11 hours after last night's game ended.

So much for that.

At this point, they just need to leave Anderson in and not waste any more bullpen arms. Hernan Perez is probably warming up in the pen.

Too bad the Brewers got exactly what they didn’t need from Anderson today... what ****ing joke. 9-0 in the third? And still haven’t retired a batter...

He got 7 outs and gave up 10 runs, 9 hits, and 2 walks.

Pitching Wilkerson is only a small step above pitching Hernan Perez.

12 runs in 3 innings.

They are lucky to win 1 of 2 when the pitching staff has given up 26 runs in the last 17 innings.
