Yelich hit 2 HRs in a game on August 21st.

Other than that game, he hasn't in a home run in another of his other last 40 games.

He also has only two doubles in the last 55 at-bats, with no other extra-base hits.

His slugging percentage so far this month is 245.

August looked like he was getting into at least a bit of a groove.

There has to be something wrong health-wise. Is the back still a problem ?

So fun watching Milwaukee get over on the Cubs.  Houser didn’t have his best stuff, but what a luxury to call on a guy like Ashby to come in and take control of the mound.

As for Yelich, it’s really mind boggling how his power numbers have declined.   I mean, since arriving in Milwaukee his HR and slugging stats have been off the charts, but clearly he’s not been the same guy post C19.  I have to believe his health is still an issue as there really isn’t any other explanation for this type of regression.

Then again, perhaps he’s got some Keston Hiura type mental yips going on.

All I know is it’s really difficult to hit a baseball period much less at a high level like both guys have done in the past.

Andy Ashby with another good game.

He made his major league debut on June 30th and got shelled for 7 runs (4 earned) in 2/3rds of an inning. He gave up 4 hits, walked 3 and struck out no one. He was sent back to the minors right after that.

He was called back up in mid-August. In the 8 games since, these are his numbers.

25.3 innings, 15 hits, 4 earned runs, 4 walks, 28 strikeouts.

0.75 WHIP, 1.42 ERA, 9.95 K/9 innings, 7.0 K/BB

Basically, he's been Corbin Burnes in the last month in 8 appearances.
