Or don't have MC count them out. Because then...

So Zach Davies opens up Game 1 of this Cub series with 3 perfect innings.
That makes the Brewers 7 for their last 77 with 1 extra-base hit.
Yelich hit 2 HRs in a game on August 21st.
Other than that game, he hasn't in a home run in another of his other last 40 games.
He also has only two doubles in the last 55 at-bats, with no other extra-base hits.
His slugging percentage so far this month is 245.
August looked like he was getting into at least a bit of a groove.
There has to be something wrong health-wise. Is the back still a problem ?
They busted out of the slump, all except JBJ that is. he struck out twice in the same inning (8th). Magic number to clinch the Central down to 4, to clinch at least a wild card is now 2.

So fun watching Milwaukee get over on the Cubs. Houser didnât have his best stuff, but what a luxury to call on a guy like Ashby to come in and take control of the mound.
As for Yelich, itâs really mind boggling how his power numbers have declined. I mean, since arriving in Milwaukee his HR and slugging stats have been off the charts, but clearly heâs not been the same guy post C19. I have to believe his health is still an issue as there really isnât any other explanation for this type of regression.
Then again, perhaps heâs got some Keston Hiura type mental yips going on.
All I know is itâs really difficult to hit a baseball period much less at a high level like both guys have done in the past.

It would be epic if they could win 100 games.
What is the magic number again?

That picture makes me feel old.
Andy Ashby with another good game.
He made his major league debut on June 30th and got shelled for 7 runs (4 earned) in 2/3rds of an inning. He gave up 4 hits, walked 3 and struck out no one. He was sent back to the minors right after that.
He was called back up in mid-August. In the 8 games since, these are his numbers.
25.3 innings, 15 hits, 4 earned runs, 4 walks, 28 strikeouts.
0.75 WHIP, 1.42 ERA, 9.95 K/9 innings, 7.0 K/BB
Basically, he's been Corbin Burnes in the last month in 8 appearances.
Andy Ashby will never be a major league caliber pitcher.
The lineup will continue to struggle.
Theyâll never win a World SeriesâĶ
Keep going bro!
This article is a lieâĶ
He sucks, they suck!
Hopefully they suck as bad as the Bucks.
Everyone is turrible just mail it in
I tell you what, if you think baseball is a slow moving game, try watching high. I swear the 5th-9th innings last night took exactly 9 hours to finish. With some herbal assistance.
2 in the Crew's half of the 8th, 6-4 lead.
In comes Hader.
Not a clean inning for Hader, but they get the W.
They did it. Playoff bound again!!!!!! Next up, Central Title.
I love this team.
THREE!!
1970 to 2017 - Four playoff appearances
2018 to 2021 - Four playoff appearances
Really hoping all our offensive guys can fully comeback from injury. Adames, Garcia, Taylor, Tellez, we need them all for the playoffs. They havenât missed Taylor, but with how bad JBJ is at the plate, a healthy Taylor is a huge upgrade as pinch hitter/spare outfielder.
And now maybe Lorenzo Cain again.
Magic Number is THREE
Three is the magic number:
Keep it rolling!

Thatâs quite the W.A.R.
Brewers have had base runners in each of the first 4 innings but have grounded into 3 double plays.
And now Lauer gives up a homer in the top of the 5th. 1-0 Cubs.
Brewers were up 2-1, when Contreras worked Boxberger for a 14 pitch leadoff walk. Boxberger promptly fell apart and it's now 6-2 Cubs.

2021 1 extra-base hit (XBH) every 13 at-bats (28/364)
2020 1 XBH/10 at-bats (20/200)
2019 1 XBH/6.4 at-bats (76/489)
2018 1 XBH/7.5 ABs (77/574)
Heâs a black holeâĶ they need to drop him in the order. Put him down 5 or 6, so they can get some pop at the top where guys are hitting. Canât keep jamming a square peg hereâĶ

Hiura was at 558 and sent down.
