MM OTOH is done. It's quite clear he cannot coach a football team.

I'm beginning to wonder if Farve just flat out disobeyed MM on certain occasions during the 13-3 season

Maybe my previous claim that Favre would make a better coach than MM doesn't sound so ridiculous anymore.
Yeah, when you sign your franchise QB to a long term mega deal you would think you would bring him in some protection... Between the assine playcalling and the absolutely lost Offensive in everyway Line, this season has been much worse than I thought it could ever be. Even if the line had played just average, this team could be 6-2 or better. I know you cant blame the OL for everything because AR is taking 4-6 seconds to throw the ball every drop back, but this is getting ridiculous. WHERE ARE THE ADJUSTMENTS?

There is no way McCarthy should survive this season. In all reality, TT probably should not be far behind and I've been one of his biggest advocates but this team is trending downward.

I am feeling this sentiment, also. This is not very good team, obviously, and it is time to "re-tool" once again. No more "fixing". I have been a fan of TT, but I am seeing week by week that this good feeling towards TT is mostly unfounded. MM is beyond cooked...

Here is the but; TT has to be think about AROD's health. MM is getting him killed.

Well then TT should not only think about firing McCarthy but he should also think about resignation because he has completely failed at putting together a decent offensive line.

Five off-seasons to do it and I don't think Thompson has added a single "above-average" NFL starting offensive lineman to the roster.
Why should TT survive? When he came in, he said he wasn't going to blow up the team.. and he did. The last good season we had, the QB of the team was the same guy he ran out of town. I know, I like Aaron alot.. but man, something is wrong somewhere on this team. I dont think it's his leadership or skills, I think it's his ambition to make the big play all the time. He really holds the ball too long and is indecisive at times, especially critical moments. This can be fixed, but he needs a coach to put him in a rhythm offensively.. and keep him on task. Remember, he is just a 2nd year guy and despite being one of the top 3 talented QBs in the league, he shows a lapse in decision making at times.

TT's drafts have been ok, but he has not addressed holes in the team through Free Agency with Veterans that could have made large impacts on this team. TT does not want to make the big move to put this team over the top, it seems like he is always in the "building" mode. I think it's time we bring in an End game GM.. we have superbowl capable talent on this team and it's time we add to it.. not build and tear down constantly.

I'll take one average one.
MM just threw himself on the sword in post game interview with Larry McCarren:

"The loss starts with me. I didn't have the team prepared."

Thanks for at least standing up and admitting you failed today. Having said that, it doesn't change what the verdict should be on your Head Coaching career in Green Bay.

It is time that Mark Murphy man up and show some leadership by telling TT that McCarthy needs to go---now, midseason. We don't need this team's spirit completely broken before we can him after the season is over.

Who do we replace him with? Capers? Philbin? Those guys suck even worse than McCarthy.

Moss would be next in line as the AHC.
I'd like to hear Mark Murphy say that he expects the Packers to be a playoff level team this year. Then it puts the heat on TT, MM, and the players to get that goal accomplished. Anything less than a playoff spot and heads would roll.

If the decision was solely up to me I'd clean house ... things aren't working out, and the Packers are not making enough strides to allow MM, TT, and whoever else enough time to get it fixed.

Diggr-honestly it's about the $$$$ IMO. Packers spent a crap load on him +mm+ Capers. To get rid of all 3, that's a lot of wasted dough. Then you're talking about hiring an entirely new staff and GM. Packers won't spend that kind of cash.

They will pay and keep TT at least through 2010 and frankly beyond that because with a new HC, 1st year will be a wash regardless.

Better dilemma is what do you do with Capers? Bringing in a new HC (and I am all for that) means he will want his guys. But Packers threw alot of money at Dom. So likely this new HC will need to jive with Capers.

As we sit here today, it's a mess. And TT needs to clean it up.

I would have said Capers, because his teams were at least disciplined in Texas and Carolina. However, with the dissension in the locker room, I don't know if that would work out right now.

Hell, I would give Shanahan a shot mid-season. If you figure this team is going nowhere under MM the remainder of the season, what harm is done bringing a new coach in midseason.

He at least is familar with the offense we run (and the crappy ZBS). Of the big names out there, Cowher and Holmgren only come in if they are also GMs.

If TT could hire Cowher, he'd probably keep Capers as DC.

I seriously doubt Cowher would come here, though. It's almost a foregone conclusion he'll be the head guy in Carolina next year.
