Stop. Just STOP.
Agreed. Thank you. However, you should've squeezed in that gem about 8 posts earlier.
This projected path, further south, puts Irma on a likely run into the Gulf, based on historical reference.
I just read where the Packers donated 100,000 dollars to the Harvey relief fund. Good for them, me and the Packer Pete are doing the FEMA thing. I will be reliyin on this board for Packer news for next couple weeks

Stay safe, and thank you for helping.
Irma up to CAT 2 very quickly. Hopefully she turns and fizzles in the north Atlantic.
Beware the "I" storm. These eight Atlantic "I" hurricanes have been retired since 2001: https://t.co/sSytC4ngnb pic.twitter.com/x82zDIQuW5

Irma is going to be a monster storm. Forecasted to hit 155mph sustained winds by Tuesday. Cat 5 by Wednesday. Really hope it starts tracking north over the weekend.

Please....if there is anyone or anything or any DEITY that can stop Irma from hitting Texas....please, PLEASE help those poor people.
We've had 2 100yr storms and a 500yr storm in the last 12 years in the US alone. This is not normal but unfortunately may be the new normal.
Irma was a tropical storm this morning. Just reached category 3 in a matter of hours. 115mph winds and growing fast. This storm really needs to start tracking north.
Hope Irma does not head here to NE Florida. We got hit here by Matthew last year. "Stay out to sea, Irma."
The last Irma advisory putting it at a CAT 3 storm also indicates a slight track back north.
This will be one to watch...
Then there is this:
If Irma tracks north, I can see Myrtle Beach & Charleston, SC getting pounded.
Not good
Egads I hope not. That's my neck of the woods!
looking at that chart I doubt it moves up that far.
Hope is Irma turns hard left this weekend and fizzles into a rain storm over colder Atlantic water. Storms don't go from tropical to Cat 3 in 6 hours. Apparently there is a H pressure front over the SE Atlantic that dictates how far south a system gets pushed before it turns N. Everyone is watching how strong that H pressure front becomes.
From Dallas media:
"Jerry Jones just donated a million dollars on the telethon."
Well done, sir.
I threw chunk at JJ Watt's effort. Great work by a former Badger!

Jerruh should have donated 10M. How much of his billion dollar stadium was paid by taxes?

JJ is just A W E S O M E, and Jerry should give a billion. What's he worth, at least 10 billion?? A million for these 1%ers is a drop in their billion dollar bucket.
In the last few days 1,200 people died and 950,000 lost homes from flooding
in Bangladesh. No front page coverage. A big rain/flood/mudslide in Africa also happened this week. These events are related, not isolated IMO
Another storm in the Gulf and potential cat 4 headed to Bahamas and East Coast.
To paraphrase Steven Stills.....something's happening here, what it is is pretty clear.

..... "what it is ain't exactly clear" (FTFY)
which is true....there's a lot of strange weather happening this year around the world......permanent climate change ? or normal cyclical patterns occurring?
...but it sure is nasty.....fires; rains; drought; floods; monsoons; hurricanes; etc.....definitely "there's something happening here"
To be fair, a car crash that kills one person in your local TV market is going to get more coverage where you are than a bus crash that kills 30 halfway across the country.

We can always find other kids to sew running shoes and faux designer fashion lines.

Either one, can we just stop ****ting the nest in the name of profit?
Normal patterns? Uneducated head in the sand blather. There is nothing comparable to the severity of the increase in CO2 levels and warming we've seen in the last century. The closest comparable was the Permian great extinction when volcanoes raised CO2. And we're, yes humans, changing things 100x faster. The **** isn't going to hit the fan, it already started at least a decade ago. More CO2 means more trapped heat means increase in climate volatility. No real debate remains. If you think there is you're not only ignorant, you're an asshole for believing there is because it just delays any action to fix it.
LOL Yeah, Harvey dropped all that rain owing to no upper air flow to keep it moving on, so it was stationary for days. Now a stationary front is owing to AGW. Loony stuff.

Complete rubbish. That is loony AGW people pulling that 100 year and 500 year stuff out of thin air.
Camille, 1969. Just one for ya.

...tell us how you really feel. You saying there's no debate is an inane statement.
There's always going to be debate. Why do you want to shut down debate?
I don't think anyone disagrees that our climate is changing....but to what degree? and why? We've had plenty of natural disasters occur at the same time around the world before.
R-E-L-A-X.
JFC. Yes, relax. No urgency, why do anything about it. F'ing morons. No, there is no credible debate. There isn't one theory, paper, data set or wild ass guess that exists that has been peer reviewed and supported by any third party that suggests we are NOT the cause. It's all noise paid for by the powers that be that stand to lose at the idea they're economic interests are at stake.
100 year and 500 year stuff out of thin air? Good god Francis. Check the meteorological records of what constitutes those designations and the timeline they happened in. Do I have to do the math for you in crayon?
You know there is "debate" about the earth being flat/round too, right? Same level of denial. But if you couldn't give 2 ****s about the world we're trying to live in and the world we're leaving behind us when we're gone, have it and **** off.
I do appreciate your passion about the topic, DH13.
But, if I only have 2 s***s to give.....then, I'm giving to the idea that our world is full of radical terrorists and if we don't do something about it right now, we won't have to bother worrying about climate change.
If we don't do something about the lack of law and order soon, then we won't have to worry about the climate anyway.
If we don't do something soon about the lack of decency in debating issues and learning that it's OK to disagree without name-calling or violence....then why bother with the climate.
That being said, I do appreciate your voice and determination on the issue of a climactic climate. Climate change is an issue that shouldn't be ignored.
I think he prefers fat tip colored markers. I know I do . . . for sniffing reasons.

LAW AND ORDER!
Way to take it to that "stupid" level, Hank. And to waste 3 posts to do it. I think everyone here knew you could do it. Good job!
But You forgot to include the last part....
If we don't do something soon about the lack of decency in debating issues and learning that it's OK to disagree without name-calling or violence....then why bother with the climate.
or maybe you didn't forget because you already knew.
Yes, it was the debating issue that really tied the stupid together.
Everyone here knows if anyone could it - you could do it, Hank.
