A Cat 5 storm is beyond nasty. Hurricane Hugo took of half my roof and flooded the whole downstairs. It was a 2-3. I am currently in Canada on vacation but my kids are living in my current home in Folly Beach,SC. It's a barrier island off the coast near Charleston. It looks like my vacation plans are now in limbo.

My prayers are with all those in its path.

And yes I have flood insurance but with a huge deductible because it's really expensive.

Fair winds and following seas PackerPat'.

I live 40 miles NE of SF. Close to the Napa Valley. The majority of the homes in town don't have AC. Once in a great while you'll get a day that sniffs 100 degrees. But it's rare. There isn't really a need for AC. A historically typical "hot" day in town is 85 degrees.

Last Friday we reached 110 degrees. Saturday was 111. It's been humid the past two days. Real humidity. It's NEVER humid in this town.

People who've lived in town for 40 plus years all say they've never experienced weather like they've experienced this summer.

Welcome to the world of extremes

We had 3 days this winter in January where we had rain - like you would see in April - only it was WI and about 25 degrees above normal.   That's a first in my 45 year old lifetime.

AZ had all time record temps this summer.  Like 5 degrees above normal highs on AVERAGE for June.  Never happened before.   Not even close.

Worst and most devastating tornado season on record in 2011.  Violent and sustained tornadoes.  Just 6 years ago.

A tropical storm becomes CAT 4 in 100 miles due to record Gulf temps.  Then floods the **** out of H Town and their "100 year flood"

Now we have a Cape Verde 'cane with sustained 185 mph potentially barreling down on S Florida or even worse the gulf.  PS a CAT 5 is 157 mph- if there was a CAT 6 this would be it.

But there is absolutely nothing going on with climate change.  Okey dokey

And on a bee-line to Haiti. Those folks have no defense. A storm like this will kill tens of thousands. Just terrifying.

And this August has been one of the mildest Augusts I can remember. Mid-70s several days and I have had the AC off half the month. In fact, most the summer has been mild like this.

EDIT: apparently not anymore. Might still graze Haiti, but right at Cuba now. Unfortunately they're in similar danger. So many people living in that place that have no defense, and no where to go...

It's looking more and more like it's going to miss Tampa. At least a direct hit. They will still catch some heavy wind and rain. Miami on the other hand. GET THE F**K OUT!!!!!! Looking like a direct hit with 150mph sustained winds.

Sattelite image of Irma over the Caribbean. If you look closely you see the island of Barbuda INSIDE the eye. 1,600 people live on Barbuda. Last weather signal out of Barbuda was 155MPH winds when the signal was lost.

Putting money down that plate is from Polk County.

LOL, throwing out chum Henry? I would think Panic and Stress is not limited to Polk County even tho I have to say I have never seen the level of pure panic that is going on here. I witnessed people screaming at clerks for supplies when the clerks were just young kids that were working there. I stocked up on Sunday when Publix was down to two pallets of water and completely out Monday. I gassed up last night and this morning those same pumps were out.

We lived through Charlie and two others that criss crossed the state in 2004 but this one looks a hell of  a lot worse and scary. I do believe the Houston news has everyones level of stress up thinking the same thing is going to happen here.

Son in laws parents have a home on the Atlantic in New Smyrna and they just moved back in their home last week after Matthew last year. The latest trek of Irma has the storm moving up the east side of the state. They may be moving out again.

We can't evacuate anywhere because where I live is where people go to evacuate.

Henry, if you are still in Florida, you can come stay here. Democrats, Republicans Independents, Trump Haters and Trump lovers are all welcome here.  I am hoping to get through the Packer game on Sunday before we lose electricity.

I was talking about the bumper sticker.  The bumper sticker.

I'm in Minny right now but all my stuff is in Tampa.  So if you're desperate for supplies you can have my Funko Pop collection of Social Justice Warriors, all my protest placards and my sense of magnanimity, which sustains my life force more than food and water.

Not sure why you associate crack whores with Polk County. Sheriff Grady Judd spends more time chasing crack whores and Johns rather than actual criminals who may actually do some real damage.

Not interested in your Funko Pop Collection or Protest Placards. Unless I can use them for firestarter to heat up some food. I will give you a call then.

Tavis reminded me of a story.  And who doesn't need a little amusement with a raging hurricane bearing down.

One year at my up north trout fishing weekend while no one was looking one guy snuck a bumper sticker on the car of our teacher friend that stated:  I don't drink but I smoke crack like a mother****er.    It wasn't discovered until after his first day back teaching.  Prank successful.

The next year the teacher snuck a bumper sticker on the sneaker's car that stated: Fug you you fugging fug (except with proper spelling).  It wasn't discovered until he was in line at a fast food joint after the weekend.  Prank payback successful.

Good times.

Stay safe out there.

Limbaugh says Irma hurricane warnings are a scheme to benefit retailers, media, and the β€œclimate change agenda”

Entire segment was worse than this. Totally cool with Rush being strapped to a palm tree on Miami Beach. Monday am someone can ask him if it's dangerous to tell people this hurricane warning stuff is agenda based. There will certainly be people that believe what this jackass is saying and stay put.

I have no problem with this as long as Rachel MadCow and Laurence Odummell are handcuffed to him.

Since the "warning stuff" probably comes from scientists, we can just disregard that **** right away.  Amy from Facebook cleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeearly knows more about this and other scientific **** than an actual scientist.

And she has an essential oil that cures autism, so I will put my faith in Rush and Amy.

"These storms, once they actually hit, are never as strong as they're reported," Limbaugh claimed on his syndicated radio show. He added that "the graphics have been created to make it look like the ocean's having an exorcism, just getting rid of the devil here in the form of this hurricane, this bright red stuff."

I get your left dislike Floridarob. I do. But this isn't party lines. This is **** all stupidity. It's ****ing wrong. It's irresponsible. It could kill people. **** Maddow. **** everyone that wants to make this about their agenda vs. what's really important.
