Don’t forget “if you are young” and the always popular “they didn’t die” to the list of people that will be fine if they get COVID19.

Kristy Swanson is keeping tabs doncha know

And then the first thing they do when they get sick is run to the hospital and ask for everything, including the kitchen sink, to be injected into them, to save them.

Look at the Herman Cain Awards pages. It's the same progression over and over.

1. Person post that it's all BS. Vaccine mandates are like the Nazis. COVID isn't bad. Fauci is evil and should be executed (I've literally seen that).

2. Person posts "I just tested positive for COVID. I feel lousy but I'll get better in a couple of days."

3. Person posts "I am headed to the hospital so I can recover better." Pray for me.

4. Person posts "I'm about to be intubated. Pray for me."

5. A relative posts the patient is worsening in their condition. Need prayers, and oh by the way, we have started a gofundme to help pay for expenses.

6. About 2 weeks later the obituary posts and often mentions nothing about COVID.

I read these just to know what kind of disinformation is out there so that when I try to talk people into getting vaccinated (and I keep doing it even when in some cases it feels like I'm beating my head against the wall) I am prepared to present information that contradicts whatever crap is being sent around on social media right now.

Aaron's Kryptonite has always been that he insists on being the smartest guy in the room...."I know that all these scientists say this is the best thing I can do to combat covid .... but I know a better way" ...hey Aaron, we know that you scored 1350 on your SAT & in an NFL locker room you are comparatively a genius ....but these scientists scored 1500 + and have spent their lives in this field.

What a fucking idiot.

If there was only a safe and well studied way to "raise your antibody" levels against COVID19. Something that had undergone extensive scientific scrutiny for safety and been evaluated in billions of people. Something that every former and current US President had gotten. Something that >90% of your teammates had already done. Gee, you know something that tricked your immune system into thinking that it had been exposed to COVID19 when it really hadn't so it would make antibodies with no chance of you actually getting COVID. Maybe something that had been done in over 3 BILLION people so far. You know, like a fucking vaccine?

To raise his antibody levels? The whole point about immune memory is that you want to keep the numbers of B/T cells responding to a particular antigen (part of a virus in this case) low if you aren't exposed to it. Your body has to respond to literally potentially billions of antigens and if you kept the number of cells that respond to each of them up non-specifically you'd get pretty sick for other reasons pretty fast. The system evolved to have memory cells that can respond immediately and exponentially multiply when they see the same pathogen again. You get booster shots to improve the process through things like somatic hypermutation. That is, boosters give your body the chance to optimize the antibodies produced from B cells or the T cells that can kill off virally-infected cells. Then, those "better" versions of those cells go dormant again so they can repeat the cycle if needed.

The good news is that, right now, I wouldn’t trade Jordan Love for Patrick Mahomes the way he’s playing. If we can run the ball, get Love into a rhythm with some easy completions, hold the ball, and force Mahomes into turnovers then the game is extremely winnable. Don’t let Hill get behind you, pressure with the front 4/5, then on to Seattle.

You can probably guess a 3rd player who also isn't vaccinated:

I think everyone knew Z wasn't vaccinated.  He was wearing a mask on the sideline most of the season.  All the more reason why Rodgers not wearing one ever was weird.

He may have just pissed away a lot of post-NFL opportunities.

Bret Favre says “hi”.

Back to football,   I don’t feel good about Cobb being the only back up available.

Love gets the benefit of a shit defense this week, which is nice.  But part of me wants to see this shit defense guard 4 quarters of wildcat they didn’t prepare for.

Mahomes! Another QB whose ego is running rampant. Everything is an attempt to throw an 80 yard TD.

I don't think you are required to wear a mask in an outdoor stadium. Maybe you are required to in a dome, not sure about that. But yeah, Smith was only on the sidelines for a game or so and he wore a mask. That was a red flag for sure.

I have a PhD in biology and have been in biomedical research for 30+ years. I know a lot within that area. I am also not stupid enough to think that just because I know a lot in that area that I am also an expert in everything. I don't know anything about military tactics, how to manage supply chains, how to properly construct anything, or literally an infinite number of other things. If you want to ask me about biology, cancer research, orthopedics, genetics, and cows, I'm your guy. I know a little bit more about basketball theory and coaching than other sports, but even then I'm not a threat to take over for Bud anything soon.

I am not going to put on a football uniform, walk up to the line of scrimmage, and diagnose what the defensive scheme is, how to respond to it by changing the play, etc. If I had studied film for 15+ years and played thousands of snaps, then I'd be pretty confident I was in better shape than most people to succeed in that area. Aaron Rodgers is up there with Brady, Manning, and very few others in terms of that skill which took years to perfect. Why do people like Rodgers think that this makes them better than anyone in everything?

@packerboi posted:

He'd know because per Rap and others reporting on this, Rodgers was required to mask up while inside the building and any team meetings, etc. He is also required to be tested daily and those results reported daily.

Vaccinated players are not under the same protocol with things like being masked indoors, etc.

I have no doubt with MLF,  he's known all along.

Yeah, let's not kid ourselves. Everyone in the organization knew this. That's tough to not stand out like a sore thumb when it's a handful of people. They did a damn good job of keeping the secret hidden this long.

seeing her name In the news again made me want to rewatch the cake scene in “Under Siege”

yeah, that wasn’t Swanson. Still a great scene.

she was pretty hot in “the chase” though, at least by the end of the movie she was hot.

Well that's my point, someone referenced the NFL having 3 approved COVID vaccines which I would assume are Pfizer, J&J and Moderna. So under that legalese Astrazeneca would both be an 'alternative treatment' and immunization.

It doesn't make much sense to me to go to Canada to get Astrazeneca of all things but I'm not sure what other 'alternative treatment' you would try to make a case for with the NFL.

Anyone know if the Blue Bombers or Stampeders have any tight ends they are willing to trade?

Mahomes also comes with an idiot brother who’s gotten all the wrong kinds of attention the last couple months.

So is he or the team subject to fines or other actions because he obviously wasn’t following the protocols for unvaccinated players?

The more we learn about this the more annoyed I get.  I mean, seeking an exemption because of your so called “treatments?”  Go hang out with the horse deworming crowd you Mensa!

It clearly looks like Rodgers lied about this and there is a mountain of tape showing that he willingly violated NFL protocols. I think a suspension has to be coming.

As much as I abhor the idiocy of Cousins and Beasley, at least they didn't lie about it. Rodgers probably thought his "special remedy" he came up with meant he was never going to get it, so who was ever going to know.

If the NFL doesn't give him a lengthy suspension, they have no credibility enforcing the protocols on anyone else.

A football question relevant to this (admittedly secondary to health concerns), if he got a lengthy suspension does that come with any salary cap relief for the Packers?

This. All fucking day, this. Don’t ever spout about the Packers not doing enough to get to a championship when you can’t even be bothered to take a shot.

Bottom line is he's gonna have to miss 10 days now and not be available in a situation that is preventable. Can't go after the front office for not going all in when you yourself aren't doing everything on your power to stay on the field. And that's just the football side of it.

Can confirm that free agent QB Blake Bortles will be joining the #Packers. He will be signed to the practice squad first, but it's almost a lock that he will be elevated to the 53-man roster Sunday against the #Chiefs.

What one league did

Pissing down our collective legs doesn’t help/change the situation. AR made his decision and now we move forward to see what young Mr. Love can do. I’m actually pretty damn excited for the game.

I expect the Packers to RTFB as much or more than they did vs. AZ and limit the times Nub has to make exceptional plays with his arm. Hopefully 17 and 13 are back...though it sounds like 13 won't be.

While we've talked about the declining hotness of 12's lady friends, it seems directly proportional to their fucking weirdness.

Olivia was hot, but she loved meat.

Danica less hot, and she was a vegan.

Shailene, say what you will about her looks, she eats fucking clay.

Yup...12's gonna be selling patchouli at Burning Man one day, no doubt about it.
