What a jerk. He's mad at the Packers for offering him more money than he's making now and then for not leaving the same deal on the table after he turns them down and hits the market?

Yeah, what's the remark about "that makes it a little more revealing"??? What does that mean? The Packers called your hand, you gambled and lost. So that makes the Packers bad guys, huh?

Agreed, he saw the writing on the wall.

Matthews and Rodgers will definitely have riches coming to them. Raji might, but I think he needs to step it up before I'd go all in on a large contract. Another season like he had in 2010, and he'll be a rich man. One like 2011, not so much.

I think his talk during the year about wanting to stay in GB but he did see it happening, etc., was an attempt to pressure TT through the fans to sign him for what he wanted. He thought the fans would step up for him. When that didn't pan out, he got injured and the team played well without him, he lost his leverage. TT called Jennings' bluff and let him hit the market. When the market tanked, then Jennings had to take the next (only?) other offer open with any sort of $$$ or come back to GB with egg on his face. Why else would it take him so long to sign with the Queens?

He said he had to study a lot of tape of Ponder to make sure he would be able to throw him the ball. Riiiiiight. Translation: I really wanted to delay to see IF Ponder could actually throw and to give TT or another team more time to give me more $$$.

Another interesting part to this is Adrian Peterson's reaction. Has he had any public reaction? He didn't like it with Harvin getting the ball, and I bet he likes it even less with Jennings' arrival because he knows they will have to get GJ the ball to keep the fans and GJ in line. It was AP's team at the end of the year. Now, how does he like sharing the spotlight? That will be interesting to watch. They'll all say the right things, but...

He didn't sign with the Bears.

I wish he would have. I, at least, respect the Bears. they have a lot of history. Very similar to the Pack.
This, I could have accepted. I would have even been happy for him,

BUT, the QUEENS??????????????????????

Bye Greg, hope your sister is happy.
don't let the door hit you in the a** on the way out..........

At the end of the day I'd think he wants as many talented players on his team as possible and he's happy to have him on the team.
What I fine strange is all the information coming out this year on what the Packers are doing in Free Agency. It is not as if the Packers organization is now a talkative bunch, what they are reported to be doing is a bit selective.
The reporting about the Packer interest in Jackson may have been coming from his camp to get more out of the Atlanta. The timing of the 10 million per year offer to Jennings by the Packer seems a bit odd to me. Then once the contract discussion with the Queens became serious it turns out that the 10 million a year offer was at least a year old. I think it is very possible that the Queens and Falcons both got played.

I'm still waiting for Peterson to make a comment on getting Jennings. Nothing yet in the paper or on his Twitter...

The queens were a thorn in GB's side without a #1 WR. Harvin is talented but does not fit the mold of a #1 WR but is dangerous and a threat to score from anywhere. So I feel that the queens are now a better offense w/All Day and a legit deep threat.

Does he fit the mold of a true legit #1 wr? I'd beg to differ. Smaller frame, deceptively quick to get deep....in past years. But now he's pushing 30, and he's been injured. I'd wager as much as many of us have posited that GJ opened things up for Jordy, Jones, and Cobb....it can also be said those guys did exactly the same for him. He now has a legit stud rb in the backfield, but he will have nowhere close to the stable of wrs and te's he has enjoyed for 7 years, let alone the disparity at the qb position.

Even when he's been on the field the past 3 years, there are stretches where he has seemed to disappear whether due to double teams or zone schemes. I wish him luck, but I think the Pack will be fine.

I agree. He's a good but not great receiver.

They were 6-4 in games he played and 6-2 in games he missed last year. Even when healthy he's not a guy that will be a dominant receiver without other good receivers around him.

His stats could look deceptively good next year because right now he and Rudolph are really their only options.

I agree with your point about hero worship regarding Favre, but this is really a different situation. Jennings didn't orchestrate his way out of GB to sign with the Vikings, in an attempt to screw the Packers. He was a free agent who wanted more money than the Packers were willing to pay, and it so happened the Vikings had a desperate need at WR.

I have no ill will towards Jennings at all. I'll root like hell against him on Sundays, but this is a business.

I agree, but don't you think Jennings wants to stick it to TT? Wait, Jennings will come to Lambeau and have a big day.

I feel that Jennings is a traitor. I wish good health to him and his family, but I hope the Packers shut is ass down in the next two vikings/Packers game.
I don't mind him going to the Vikes and getting the big $ at all. It's a business and who knows how many years you have to make money in the NFL. Of course, I wish he loses every game vs. the Packers but it's nothing like Favre going to the Vikes and wanting to stick it to the Packers on and OFF the field. Jennings is better than that. When healthy, Jennings was our best WR but Nelson, Jones and Cobb are more than capable and I think Boykin will turn some heads. Next man up.

If that's where the money is, that's where you go. It's not like he was offered from another team and chose the Vikings just to get back at the Packers.

Have a little more faith in the Packers, they will overcome (if necessary) any obstacle this might present

I truly do have faith in the Packers and TT. I was hoping GB wouldn't sign Jennings unless they got a significant hometown discount as they have other players to pay and are deep at receiver. I just wish he would have went anywhere but MN. However, maybe it messes up their cap for years... I hope he really sucks there but other than that wish him the best.

Not sure about "all the time". I would say not that often but sometimes. It's a noble thing to do but when you compare your job to others doing the same work you want to be compensated equally to those with your skill level. It's not always "Show me the money" but pay me what I deserve for what I've accomplished in making myself an elite NFL player.
