I just can't believe there's not a single person in this guy's life who can get him to stop airing bullcrap like this to the press. All it does is hurt his own future, he knows it himself, yet he just can't seem to stop doing it.

For the last time as a fan of yours, #88, would you please, please just

!!!!!

This is true, but he ain't gonna get a payday with lousy numbers, so he goes to the press and gripes, figuring he'll get more balls thrown his way. In reality, all he needs to do is get open and catch the ball, and then Rodgers will be looking his way a lot more.
It wasn't even a great game.. ONE GOOD CATCH AND RUN.. Seriously, any one the roster could have scored on that fake screen play.

Wow.

..and I don't want to hear the BS about him pulling coverage. That is simply not happening these days.

Hell, when they drafted the kid he needed "development". I think he just has a serious case of the "slows".

STFU, play the position your told to play & the ball will come your way.

This was my thought as well.

Real possibility.
Not that it changes anything, or justifies any of what he said. But those comments were all made last week prior to Detroit. The guy just needs to stop talking and continue to make plays when the opportunity comes his way.

He's got 9 games to prove he's worth keeping around in 2013.
He started this routine in 2008, publicly blaming ARod for not making the "right" throw on a fade route to the endzone in a game against the Titans, and basically hasn't shut his excuse making mouth since.

Maybe some day it will dawn on him that he might be the problem....
Last year I flew back from MSP and met Clay's Mom after the flight. One of her comments was that they are tired of Finley running the wrong routes. Everything she said was very positive. This was her only negative comment, seemed to bother Clay.

If I were 12, I wouldn't throw him the ball either, if I didn't know where he was going to be on the field.

you sure Chilli? the article says Nov 20 but I hope you're right cuz one of the things that was pissing me off was him repeating this:
quote:
"If I could throw myself the ball and run under it, I'd do it every play because he's just not throwing me the ball like he used to."

and, wow, lapack, if that is indeed true I completely understand AR's lack of trust in him. and it all goes back on the Mouth. he wants AR to read his mind on top of the defense - amazing.

....just get rid of him..he's never going to get it, can't keep his mouth shut. QB's throw to guys who are open, not guys they "like".
AR from yesterday's radio show. quite the contrast.

“(Former Packers tight end) Donald Lee and I used to meet, just as kind of an end-of-the-week, let’s-get-on-the-same-page (thing),” Rodgers explained. “Because Donald had gone from a guy catching 55 passes in 2007 to I think a little less than that in 2008 and (he) kind of was wondering if we just weren’t on the same page or what (was) going on. So I said, ‘Let’s talk about every play so you can hear how I’m hearing it and I can see what you’re seeing on these plays. So it kind of started then and carried over from time to time. And (now) J-Mike and I have just been spending more time together.

“I’ve always enjoyed him as a person. I think a lot of times some of the stuff that he says at his locker can get misconstrued and not come out the exact way that he wants it to, because I genuinely think that he is a fan of mine and enjoys my friendship. I just wanted to really be on the same page with him because he’s a guy who can be so productive for us, and just making sure that we’re doing everything we can to make him feel comfortable, and just giving him and I a chance to just talk.

“We spend so much time talking football with our job and all week, that there’s really not a lot of time to just talk about life. For us, it’s more than just football, it’s talking about life. And I’m not Dr. Phil in there by any means, but it’s fun to be able to talk about some non-football stuff with your teammates.”
do we not have coached that can tell him to shut up? I know the league has been full of soundbite players, but does no one on the team have the capacity to coach this young mans mouth?
"First he take my spot on the field. Now he take my spot in the picture! If that ain't bad enough, the QB is even lookin' right at Cobb here too! If I could figure out how to take a picture myself AND be in it I'd do it"
These comments were from August, 2010.

“He is a great player, but he is a moron.”

“Is Jermichael Finley stupid, arrogant and/or both?”

doesn’t think Finley is “a terribly bright person . . . what’s the saying? All the tools and no toolbox?”

“smelled a pending disaster”

“First thing I’d do, I’d say Shut your mouth. Shut up. Shut up! You’re dumb,” “You’re a heck of a player but . . . be quiet!”
I can't ever remember wishing / hoping / praying for a guy to finally get it more than I have for Finley. But I'm pretty much resigned to the fact I've been dead wrong about the guy and his level of stupid is never changing.

Having had a little time to reflect on the Cobb comments pretty much did it. That's 2 offensive guys he feels are repressing his greatness. The Cobb comments might be the point of no return for MM and TT as well.

they might, the problem is Finley doesn't have the capacity to actually shut it.
