This guy just does not get it
They pay you to catch the damn ball and not hold court and run your mouth
I am surprised he hasnt suffered a jaw injury with all the yapping he does
Someone needs to tell Finley, "Until you are consistently part of the solution by playing your arse off and catching every single ball thrown your way, you should STFU."

Almost exactly my opinion of 88 these days.
That said, it was a ridiculous decision by Rodgers to chuck that ball to Finley. With a guy who historically has trouble catching passes when he's open, what good could possibly come when there's three defenders on him? Rodgers was very lucky to only have an incompletion.
Finley's game is a shadow of what it was in 2009.
Is it because he's still thinking about the injury and is holding himself back?
Or is he fully healed and this is as good as it's going to get?
I have to think he's still in GB and getting the majority of the snaps because the coaches see glimpses of 2009 in practice (it's not happening on the field)
If he's fully recovered and this is as good as it's going to get, it's time for both sides to part ways.

Is this true? I have heard others say the same.quote:Originally posted by FLPACKER:
It is a lot more than just his attitude....the guy isn't nearly the althete he was "pre injury"....he looks like Bubba Franks out there, no explosion after the catch or leaping ability.
Then a near-total liability.
He's a drive killer... And he doesn't know it. Can't win with him...

He really doesn't look good at all. Having trouble getting separation, has been easily tackled in the open field by guys he has a 30-40 lb. weight advantage on. He looks mentally and physically like a different guy than he did even a year ago. Maybe getting paid 7 million was enough for him to "cash it in" so to speak.
Maybe Steven Jackson is not the trade the Packers need, maybe it is a replacement for Finley.
Rodgers on his radio show today:
"J-Mike has been seeing more double-coverage this season."
"Jordy and Greg are No. 1 receivers. Having those 2 guys on the field changes the way teams play us."

I don't want excuses!!

That statement is 100% accurate. However...
Cobb is nearing #1 status. He did catch a TD pass.
If Finley is going to be a star he has to beat coverage from teams like the Jaguars
From were I sit I do not think much of Finley as a football player.
Then I have to consider what I do not know or MM may know. If Finley was hurt MM is not one to let the facts out of the bag.

A friend just sent me a message that if I want to avoid the flu this year, just wear this, since if I do I won't catch anything:
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

That's great stuff!
Don't do either.
Golf clap.

And Finley has a huge game and second half of the year.

Kevin Seifert @espn_nfcnblog #Packers tied for NFL lead with 19 drops, via @ESPNStatsInfo.
what makes that worse is that they are 11th in attempts per game
Leading the league in sacks.
Eric Dickerson busting at the seams with talent Finley. So the nfc nort is short on running backs?
Finley's leading the league in sucks.

Good stuff.
Can't be Finley in the x-ray. Jaw bone not big enough.
It never ends with this guyquote:Packers' Finley: Why not pass every play?

With Green Bay passing the ball on 60.3 percent of plays, tight end Jermichael Finley thinks that number should be higher.
"If the running game isn't going, why not go 100 percent passing?" Finley said Thursday in the locker room. "I would say pass the ball every play, if it was up to me."
"We've got to get respect in the running game," Finley said. "Right now, we're doing an OK job, under average, so we have to pick it up, get people playing the run a little bit more, get those linebackers playing the run and force the safety to get on top of it and make a play."

Dumb with a capital D.
Nothing but a bunch of gibberish. When the guy was terrorizing opposing defenses, this was seen as a charming quirk. Now that he sucks terribly, it's sharply turned towards annoying.
Dang! I keep tabs on this thread in hope that someone presents some good news that the subject TE has been traded, released or somethin.

In all fairness, he was pretty dominant the second half of 2009 leading up to that playoff game. And he was pretty good in 2010 before his injury as well.

I think this is foolish, but I can't be certain.

Too late El-Ka.
Finley+saran wrap+goal post=Finley STFU.

I thought it took a couple of games for the team to adjust to his absence in 2010. They did start 3-1 with him and then he was hurt very early in that 5th game which they lost.
Maybe overall, it helped McCarthy\Rodgers grow a little bit without him as they were revolving the offense around Finley's talents. Once they adjusted to his loss, they played better as the year went on. I never felt Finley was a problem or cancer in 2010.
His loss to injury did not do the Packers any favors at that time as he was playing well. There was a lot of things for that team to overcome, Finley's injury didn't help matters any.
