Rodgers yesterday on his radio show responding to a question about Finley and chemistry.

quote:

“I think that’s how you build that chemistry. You take the notes when I’m talking, you make sure you’re on the same page, you ask the questions where there needs to be a follow-up. The stats for him are obviously not exactly where you’d want them to be, but you have to understand that he’s been playing with an injury and a lot of times he’s been the guy that teams are trying to take away.”

He also had this to say about Cobb.

Rodgers, who has been praising the second-year receiver left and right of late, said he and Cobb shared a laugh about all his kind words in the weight room on Monday.

“I told him in the weight room yesterday, ‘I’ve been giving you a lot of praise, you have a lot to live up to don’t let me down.’ And we had a good laugh,” Rodgers said. “He’s doing a real good job. I’m just proud of him. Just being in the business for eight years now – you pull for the good guys. You pull for the guys who do it the right way. He’s easy to root for because he really cares about it, and I think he has a lot of leadership ability that you’re going to see come out in the next couple of years as he gets more confident in speaking up.

“I’m just really proud of him and the way that he approaches his job and the ability that he has shown on the field. It’s fun to give him opportunities because I think he’s really earned it.”

Watching the way the Packers' receivers interact with Rodgers has inspired Finley to do more in an effort to gain better chemistry with his quarterback. The two of them have been spending 30 minutes together the day before each game strategizing the best ways to help the offense excel.

"It's just going over routes, what he wants me to do on this route, if they cover me this way, this is what he wants me to do, if they're playing off … it's just detailed," Finley said. "Real detailed. It's awesome, especially with a guy like 12 , where he's really detailed and really dug into what he does with his craft.

"I'm a fan of him, man. I love him."

I watch J-Mike isolated on a ILB get less separation than IC's belt and belly button on Thanksgiving. The drops are just entertaining but the celebration when a pass sticks to his chest was priceless. Andrew Quarless where are you?
I thought that Finley probably would turn it on at some point, but if he can't do it in a game like today's, he never will. The Packers would only benefit by cutting him or trading him off to some suckers for a 5th round pick.
Screw him

Rodgers made an honest attempt to get him the ball today and he made ONE good play. Then he celebrated and acted like a complete jerk. **** him. We need a change of scenery because there are probably at least a dozen starting TEs I would take before him right now.
Quarless practiced last week (as did Zombo) so he could be close to coming off the PuP. Finley is not going anywhere. Thompson drafted him, and he doesn't give up on his guys easily (Justin Harrell).

“I’ve got my swag back, got my hands back, everything’s back. I’m in a great place. I’m happy, the head’s right. I’m excited. I can’t control (the number of passes),” Finley said. “I’ve got it all back. A-Rod can hit me every play and I’ll be open. I promise you. When it comes, it’ll come in bulk. I promise you.”

No way can you put that play on Finley.

That was a terrible decision by AR and an even worse throw. Lucky it wasn't picked off.

The ball was so short not even the defenders who were in front of Finley could get back to it in time.

Totally agree. Rodgers threw at Finley into triple-coverage. Someone else HAD to be open. (Alex Green underneath without even looking at the tape)

However.....

Watching Finley nonchalant that ball reminded me of Bill Schroeder (or Robert Ferguson) & Brett Favre.

Your QB just showed the ultimate faith in you....GO GET THE DAMN BALL! even if it's a crappy throw. WTF!!
Look who's talking now....

Packers | Jermichael Finley disappointed with Week 8 win
Mon, 29 Oct 2012 09:25:43 -0700

Green Bay Packers TE Jermichael Finley was not particularly happy with the way the team played in Week 8, saying the Packers played down to their level of competition in the Jacksonville Jaguars. "We need to come out and put teams like this away. Of course it's disappointing," Finley said. "With the ability we got and with the guys we got on this team, it kills us. If the defense is looking at us, that's why they're mad at us if we go three-and-out, because they know what we can do. And we're pissed off at them when teams like Jacksonville drive the ball down the field."

It's to the point that nobody gives a crap what he says.. He could literary say anything right now and I would just blow it off as irrelevant because the entire team knows he is a dip**** by now.
