I remember that now that you mention it. Also, I believe MM once said he's got quote "the softest hands I've ever seen." Oh well. As big of a letdown as he's likely going to end up, there's a reason Top 10 talent falls to the 3rd round.

Giving his opinion on tight end Jermichael Finley’s comments last week about the chemistry still not being there between him and his quarterback, Hines Ward said it’s Finley’s responsibility to get that chemistry right, not Rodgers’.

β€œIt’s probably not the smartest thing to do: to call out your elite quarterback about getting you the ball. It’s Finley’s job to get on the same page as Aaron Rodgers, not the other way around,” Ward said during NBC’s Sunday Night Football broadcast. β€œEspecially if you want to get the ball thrown your way.”

Finley, who played in Sunday night’s 42-24 victory over the Houston Texans despite suffering a slight A/C joint separation in his right shoulder the week before at Indianapolis, played limited snaps and caught just two passes for 12 yards. He was targeted four times in the game.

β€œYou have got to go to these guys and get on their page even if it takes me getting you a bottle of wine or staying after practice. Do whatever you have to do to get on their page and to get some more attempts,” Ward said of Finley. β€œYou definitely don’t want to call the guy out, and put it out there for the media and for the public to see it. You can do it behind closed doors. Come together and get on the same page and get the thing done right.”

In another article they add this..

"Packers offense: TE, Jermichael Finley did not start the game; Tom Crabtree did. He played 22 more snaps than Finley but still ran five less pass routes"

From the PFF article:

quote:
Troy Williamson always had the athletic talent, and nobody is naturally as bad at catching as he ended up being, but you could see it in his eyes when the ball was thrown in his direction by the end that he just had no confidence anymore that he could catch it. Finley is moving dangerously close to that same point, where he no longer trusts his own abilities

I think they hit the nail on the head there. Finley is a headcase. When he drops a pass, he loses all confidence in himself. It's unfortunate.
