Finley for Thomas and Richardson ...
Yotto fully endorses.
Funny how things turn out. Pick Vernon Davis : no AJ Hawk and likely no Jermouth .

However let's all remember that Vernon Davis was a turd coming into the NFL, didn't practice like he should have, didn't run his routes, didn't try like he could have and had MAJOR maturity issues. Davis with all that would have been the Packers 5th overall pick. Finley with similar issues was taken down in the 3rd round.
Easy to play GM now and Davis also got benched and then a thorough ass chewing by Singletary multiple times before he finally woke up and began trying. You think that would have sat well with the 5th overall pick here in GB?
AJ Hawk wasn't worth the pick. But he also has a championship ring. Davis does not.
IMO by his actions I think he is doing everything possible to get out of GB. He needs to go. He is becoming a cancer. Don't let the door hit you in the a** on the way out of GB.

Agreed. I could swear that there was some talk before that 2006 draft that Davis was very anti-Green Bay which really made the Pack want to stay away from him. Davis was not a special player those first few years even though he did show potential. Right now, no doubt about it, he is special, but it basically took about 5 years to reach that level.
I don't think Finley is becoming a cancer, as i don't think he's affected anyone else's attitude in the locker room. I just don't think he's reliable on the field anymore. A TE needs to be a safety valve, meaning he has to catch the ball when it's thrown too him EVERY SINGLE TIME. But Finley is the least reliable target on the field, which is ridiculous for a TE b/c they should be one of the safest.
Finley has 11 more games to prove his worth. If he doesn't, he'll be cut before his roster bonus is due before next season.

Looks like we may be stuck with YOTTO for Houston:
quote:@TomSilverstein: Packers TE D.J. Williams missed [Thursday] practice with a hamstring injury.
Crabtree and Taylor, LLC
quote:βWhen I catch a ball in the first half, I mean the first quarter, the first few plays, and I donβt touch the ball until half, I get out of my groove, man,β Finley said. βItβs natural. You need to get your playmakers involved early, you know what I mean, to keep impacting the game.
Playmaker?
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH... That's cute, JerMichael, run along now.
no kidding. playmakers get their head turned around quick as TE in case they're the hot read... well, and they catch the ball.

If I was MM Id tell Finley Im coming to him early and often Sunday night.
Hes in front of his family and friends in TExas and Cushing is gone from Houston. Quick hitters to the TE can neutralize Texans pressure. If he doesnt make the most of this opportunity, DJ is starting next game.

If I was MM, I'd go to Cobb early and often.
Last week 4 passes- 4 catches- 1 TD. He should get the ball running and catching 3 times as much this week.
yotto has had more than enough opportunities. He leads the league in drops the last 2 years. It's Cobb time.

Finley reiterates lack of chemistry with Rodgers
So not only did he blame Rodgers for his lack of production, he also said he's playing scared which to me is essentially throwing the OLine under the bus as well. Smart move Jerry!
Ship this POS out of town as soon as possible.
quote:βItβs OK,β Finley said earlier this week, via Paul Imig of FOXSportsWisconsin.com. βNot good enough at all. Something to be worked on, and try to work on it as much as I can, try to talk to him as much as I can, but like I said, it takes two people. . . . I need the quarterback on my side, and I need to catch the ball when he throws it to me. So it takes two things to get that going, the chemistry. I feel we need to get that going.β
Imig notes that Finley used the βCβ word during the offseason. βIβm not blaming it on my offseason, but me and the QB didnβt have chemistry,β Finley said in June, after a minicamp practice. βThe routes were off sometimes, and thatβll mess with your head when the ball comes. . . . I couldnβt get the chemistry with the QB.β
quote:βI think heβs playing good, but like I said, this is a team sport, and itβs going to take all 11 of us on the field when heβs on the field with us. I donβt put it all on him. Itβs his receiving corps, weβre dropping balls; itβs his linemen not blocking for him. Heβs got a lot to think about. I would be scared, too, if I was getting hit like that.β

seriously, there isn't a coach out there that can tell him to shut up?
Rodgers playing scared?!?!?
I can hardly wait for Finley's next press conference
you mean the press conference where he talks about how excited he is about creating chemistry with the QB of the team he's been traded to? ![Smiler](http://timesfour.com/x4graemlins/icon_smile.gif)

We won it all with finley in the whirlpool. Let's do it again. Somebody should Kerrigan his mouth and knee for the sake of "chemistry". It's Cobb time.
Yeah, I'm done with this dude. This guy is always on twitter talking about how much he loves GB and the fans, but you know the moment he is off the team he'll rip the city, the team, etc. He's THAT type of guy
production just hasn't been there, and he's got nobody to blame but himself

Sounds like Quarless will be back at practice next week.
Play Crabtree and Taylor this weekend. They block and catch the ball... they both play STs. Available and accountable, just not flashy. Let Nelson, Jones, & Cobb make the big plays.

I'm good with that H5.
but finley, in front of hometown family crowd, will probably look like a million bucks after this 13 page thread... or, he'll get hit hard and hold his shoulder and be done for the night. either way, he ain't got much heart, more in it for the fame and fortune than the rings from what I can tell.

For God's sake, if he's not getting splinters on the bench, get Jermouthy a hand warmer
it's on PFT now.

quote:Hmmm, well lets make a comparison. Martellus Bennet has only played with Eli for 5 games. He has 19 catches for 217 yards and 3TDβs. Finley has played with Rodgers for 5 years and this year has 22 catches for 198 yards and 1 TD. So either Eli is phenomenal at making chemistry with his receivers, or Finley just sucks.
Yea his home town of Diboll Texas, is just up the road from where i live. I would love for to turn it on sunday nite, because Iam going to be at the game. that would be the perfect time for him to put up or shut up.
Finley is the classic, "it's not me it's you" player (the anti-Costanza....). It's never Finley's fault, it's always chemistry, or not getting the ball enough, or his injury, or something. It was like this day one against Tennessee, and it's like this today. Unless things change these next 11 games, I don't see TT paying him his bonus next year.
When things aren't going right, great players look in the mirror (ie: Rodgers this week). Lesser players blame everything else.

I think we see Thompson try and ship Finley off this offseason, probably part of a draft day trade. Problem is his base salary for next year is about 4.5 millions and his cap number overall is 8.75 million. For a player with alligator arms and a broken mouth filter, 8.75 million is not appealing for another team to take on. I don't know the specifics, but he has 3.5 million roster bonus that I'm assuming gets paid when he's on the roster at the beginning of the new league year which I'm guessing is like March 12th(?), so I fully expect him to either be traded or cut (most likely) by that time.
This team has normally been about accountability with who got new contracts. Players who produced and were part of the team have been rewarded (Woodson, Pickett, Sitton, etc.) and those who don't have been jettisoned. Finley used to produce which is why they have kept him, but if he's not producing AND he's a jerk, what good is he? None.

From what I understand, he is due that $4.5M at the start of the league year, and salary would be around $3.5M again. TT knew exactly what he was doing in essentially making this a $6M prove it year.
Even if he picks up his play and takes Rodgers out for ice cream, I don't see any way he's getting that $8M next year. Maybe they'll just consider that found money and franchise Greg for another year.

McCarthy said that Finley's injury comes down to "pain tolerance" on whether he'll play Sunday.
What about MY pain tolerance when I watch him drop another 3rd down pass?
Finley:
"Mike knows I want to play. Mike has seen me out there running and moving my arm around so I think I'm in. That's what I think."

They don't make a muzzle big enough for Jermouthy.

Thats why I do not get MM/TT on this guy ... they have done a good job up until this jagoff about taking responsibility even when it might not be you so much. They can't contain this guys access to the public and he won't shutty ...
I'm really surprised he is still in green Bay, I doubt they want this to linger much longer without him getting a good arse kicking from someone like Lang.
(would luv to see them 2 square off)
Guys on ESPN's NFL today were ripping him, as well as the guys on "Around the Horn"...he's so clueless that he's mounting resentment towards him self in and out of Packerland. He's going to be "shocked" when he gets booed at home!
MM/TT captivated by the potential. Well, that's played out. A trade will not happen - why would anyone possibly trade for him? He'll find himself relegated to the bench, the season will end and he will be unceremoniously cut. In the interim, MM will tell him to lock it and I'll be surprised if you hear more than a whimper from him the rest of the year. If he defies, he's out. Pronto.
That's actually my dream scenario. We'll see if the "potential" love fest continues. The one part that is not a dream is that no-one will trade for this loser.

Why would anyone trade for him? Because NFL owners love shiny objects and Finley, with his drops and diahrea of the mouth, is a shiny object. Plus, coaches and GMs will think, a change in location he'll perform differently for us.
Here's his locker room video from today. I don't even want to to watch it.
Video:
Jermichael Finley
I'd hate to be the poor person from the Packers PR department who had to try to coach this knuckle head up before he spoke to the reporters today.
