...people who still maintain that it is "all in Finley's head" are kidding themselves. He is just not as athletic "post injury".. he does not show the burst, acceleration, jumping ability, or ability to adjust to the ball in the air that he exhibited pre injury....doesn't account for the drops, but I don't know if we'll ever see him in 2009 form again...just look at the video!!

I guess you're right. After having his left leg and right arm amputated he just hasn't been the same!
I dropped him in my TE heavy FF league.

It's all good I have Vernon Davis & Brandon Myers.

Ryan Williams is looking good. So is Crabtree if he can get that piano off his back.

Next man up.

Ryan Williams? Do you mean Ryan Taylor? Cause I was at the JAX game, and DJ Williams was a total dud in that game.
I gave up on defending Finley and won't start now. The guy is a head case plain and simple. But maybe, just maybe, his performance yesterday thrusts his mindset forward into being a playmaker for stretch run.

Maybe.
It's funny because even with two huge plays, the lasting image I have of that game is his power stomp after Rodgers went to a covered Cobb while he was open on a third down roll out.

Just seeing that he's still physically capable of plays like the 40 yarder is nice, though.
Hoping that the guy finds a way to earn his paycheck this year by performing down the stretch (maybe even earn a spot in 2013 by behaving himself too). However, unless the guy does a complete 180° personality wise, there's no way in hell that I want the Packers to re-sign him in 2014.
It was great to see Finley have a good game. That 40 yard YAC was reminiscent of 2009. I'm not ready to eat any of my words just yet, but I'll gladly do it if he strings together some success.

I really am rooting for 88.

I bash because I care. Smiler
I'm rooting for him too. He's the classic case of the player that's not letting the game come to him, gets in his own way.

Finley's 65 yards and a TD on 3 catches has Coughlins attention. Keep 'em guessing.
My favorite part of Finley's game yesterday: he had a TD and another long catch and run and didn't act like a jackass after either.

The expectation for this guy, unfortunately, have been greatly lowered.

I think it was Packer Update who pointed out that if you cut Finley and franchise Jennings it works out to nearly the same money for next year. That's a really interesting proposition. Assuming they lose both by the end of next year I think I'd make the move to keep Jennings. How mad could he be at getting franchised if he's making serious coin and he gets to stay on the Packers? Contrast that to Finley whining if he doesn't get the ball enough in a contract year.

Everyone says Cobb is the Jennings replacement but I see enough difference in their game that they can both be on the field and complement each other. Jennings is lethal deep and Cobb can do a lot of crazy underneath stuff. You can motion either one and absolutely give the defense fits.
yeah, he did Fedya. I'm curious to see what he does this weekend on the big NYC stage. will he build off this last game? disappear, contribute, or shine?

also curious to see how the awesome youngins in the secondary fare v. Eli who's supposed to be struggling.

can't wait... but I will.

Yep. And I'm fine celebrating a TD - especially after a 9-week drought - but to proclaim this the "Year of the Take Over"? It was actually kind of sad.

He was caught off guard.. After not sniffing the endzone for 10 weeks he just went with the first thing that came to his head.. Muscle Memory..
My only complaint with Finley is his consistency. He can't even be consistently bad. He has to throw in a good game once & a while. Can't he consistently keep our expectations lowered? Does he always have to throw in a good game once & a while to keep us on the fence? I say trade him now while he still has some value.

Hurt

STFU, play the position your told to play & the ball will come your way.

It's a long season. Just be patient.

FYI....The Giants allowed 16 catches by Jason Witten. Let's see what happens after Sunday Night
Those catches Sunday went immediately to Finley's head. From that same article: "Jennings is also set to become an unrestricted free agent this off-season and appears unlikely to return. Donald Driver, who turns 38 in February, is certainly playing his final games as a Packer, as well.

"Just picture that, 85 and 88 gone and 80," Finley said. "If that happens, you tell me. That's a lot of playmakers. End of the day, I'm saying good luck.'"

Oh, I don't know about that, JMike. We haven't had 85 for quite awhile now, 80 is almost invisible, and so are you. Yes, we'd miss Jennings and we'd lack DD's leadership and smile. But you, Finley? Not so much. Time to get over yourself.
had some success and I was hoping he'd just shut up and try to build on it, but of course I would be wrong cuz he's an idiot.

quote:
Finley was asked where he thinks he'll be playing in next season.

"I love that question man," Finley said. "I don't know. All I know is I have talent.

we know you have the physical talent. now work on the mental part of it.

and he brings this sheeit up again?
quote:
Now, Finley wants to figure out how to make that the norm.

"Both of us need to just go out, maybe have a drink or two and just spill everything," Finley said of him and Rodgers. "It sounds easy, but it's not. He's throwing it to who he's comfortable with.

"I think (Randall) Cobb's taken my position from '09. I want to line up where Cobb's lining up because I know the ball's coming there.

"But me and 12 just ain't been on. He's had some guys come through this year, and he's gone to them instead of me. And really, it's out of my hands at the end of the day. If I could throw myself the ball and run under it, I'd do it every play because he's just not throwing me the ball like he used to."

shut up and do your job and AR will get you the ball. keep whining in the press and enjoy playing for Jacksonville next year. it's getting REALLY old.
Just when I make a little room in my heart for 88, he does this to me. One decent game...would a little humility hurt?

I know football players don't need to be the smartest folks in the world to be successful, but I almost think this dumdum needs to be let go in the offseason on principle. He just can't help himself from saying moronic things, time and time again.

Love how he puts himself in the Packer Pantheon with the likes of Jennings and Driver. Good stuff, J-Mike!

Exactly. The guy finally, finally does what he's supposed to do, and what happens? He opens his mouth and diarrhea comes out. Again. Unbelievable.

I think he has serious mental health issues. He just can't shut his ****ing mouth to save his own ass.
quote:
"Of course I'm unhappy, but I'm tired of beating it to death," Finley said. "I'm in the heat. I'm inside the heat. I'm ready to start getting on my groove and prove everybody wrong."
