As long as he is healthy and looks like the QB of the last 9 weeks of the 2023 season, this will look like a bargain signing in about 2-3 years from now. Glad it’s done.

Just in time to start working on a new contract.
Glad they didn’t pay him 60 mil per like some were talking about
They or We
I gave him my 65K. We!
Perspective from Andrew Brandt:
@AndrewBrandt: Seeing reports of Jordan Love deal.
Sensed the sticking point was Packers wanting longer extension, 5 or 6 years. Love able to get a 4-yr extension after his agents did same for Tua. Love will be negotiating again - when the market is over $60M per year - before age 30.
Win.
Will wait to see year-by-year cash flow, but hearing $75M signing bonus. Wow.
Packers have the cash flow, using it.
And seeing $155 million in full guarantees, will see if true.
But what that means to me is this:
Three years, $155 million.
Two nonguaranteed years after that.
Love has that record extension average of $55 million, same as Lawrence and Burrow, but his deal is better than those, due to length.
Lawrence and Burrow are under contract seven more years; Love is under contract for only five.
With the QB market only going north, big win there.
The strongest deal for a QB is still Watson.
The shrewdest deal for a QB is still Prescott.
But Love is right below those.
Yes, Love doesn't have a long history of playing well.
But contracts are not about the past, about the future.
And, just as we knew when Aaron waited for 3 years, the Packers knew what they had, and what they now have.
He's their guy. For at least three years and $155 million.
The $55M a year was never the issue. Length was.
Good for him! Now get to fucking practice!
And don't get injured.
They're praying he fails 🙂
It’s going to be hysterical when Jordan Love was a 1 year fluke. (Please happen)

Good luck to them.
Earlier this week, when #Packers GM Brian Gutekunst spoke to reporters, he sounded prideful about Jordan Love. With good reason. A rare successful transition from franchise QB to franchise QB.

Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love. https://t.co/SdCVYAFGfB
When KC97 needs to borrow money, he knows who to ask.
“Cheap” WR and TE room doesn’t hurt.
Three years left for them, right? Open that multi-year window wide.
Hopefully those WRs and TEs don't become resentful about being so "cheap."
Anyone thinking Jordan Love is on the level of Joe Burrow is an idot. The problem is the Jaguars gave Trevor Lawrence a huge deal and Love is on that level so in the end it is what it is.
Gute has looked like a genius up to this point but if Love regresses or doesn’t live up to the hype he’s gonzo.
Good Lord .... Chill out.
How many playoff games has Burrow won? Two? And he's been injured 2 out of 3 years.
This is what the market pays now. They either pay him now or pay even MORE later.
This contract is a win for Jordan and a win for Green Bay too. Now let's play some ball 🏈
Love isn't regressing. Too much jumps off the screen with him. As for the future, it's time to quote Rodney from "Caddyshack!"
@TomSilverstein: #Packers QB Jordan Love had a salary cap number of $12,757,731 prior to his extension. His new salary cap number for 2024 is just over $20 million, according to a source. That means the Packers should have between $20-25 million left on their salary cap this year.
Good news. They can still meet my salary demands.
Do your stretches people!
The Packers didn’t have much of a choice given what the market is for paying QBs.
If he plays close to what he did in the second half of last season it’ll be fine. He just can’t go Daniel Jones. A guy that played very well for a short stretch and got paid and now the Giants are hosed.

Comfortable with the contract given what I saw last year. Besides, it's not like the team had another option available.

The Packers paid him as if he was Trevor Lawrence. Daniel Jones was never as good as Love was during the 2nd half of the season. How truly insane is 21 TDs and 1 pick?
Will probably be streamed on packers.com
@BillHuberNFL: Packers GM Brian Gutekunst and Jordan Love will talk about something or other today. Gutey up first at 9:30, Love after practice.

Burrow is making 10 million more than Mahomes. Anyone who thinks Burrow is on the level with Mahomes is an idiot, yet he’s making more. I wonder why.🤔 Think maybe the market changed between when the signed their contracts? 🤷♂️
Burrow is probably the best QB in the league after Mahomes. If and when Mahomes is up for an extension he’ll set the market once again.
GBs issue is they didn’t get 3-4 years of cheap QB play as Love didn’t play. They got really lucky with a few of the WR and TE picks to offset things but they have to make hay this year and next because some of those guys will want to get paid and that’s tough to do when your QB is eating up 25% of the cap.
As for Love, yes he did awesome for half a season and now got paid. For his sake and that of the team he doesn’t need to go 21/1 but he also can’t play like he did the first half of the season either.
Welll, this is certainly not a risk free contract, but the Packers believe he’s a franchise QB and this is the going rate for a franchise QB. They are not necessarily projecting him to be Joe Burrow. BYW, Burrow is not the 2nd best QB. To be that he actually has to play. Dude is injured a lot.
I'm not a numbers guy, but it should be pointed out that Love wasn't all bad in the first half of the season either. There were games in which he played like he did in the second half, so his body of work is more than just 50/50.
He was inconsistent during the first 8 games. Some bad, some good, some in-between.
