Not surprisingly, Bucks will keep Planet Pat. He and Giannis were pretty close. 2 years, $8M.

Update. Connaughton's contract has a player option for the second year. Could be just a way to guarantee him another 4 million in case of an injury but it's being interpreted by the talking heads that he thinks Giannis may be out after a year.

Sterling Brown is untendered and is now an unrestricted free agent.

So far Matthews, Hill, Bledsoe, S. Brown, R. Lopez, Ilyasova, and Marvin Williams are definitely gone and Korver is highly unlikely to return. That's 8 of our to 13 players in minutes per game last year and we've only gotten Holiday and a 2nd round pick to replace them so far.

This is the roster at this point.

Starters: Giannis, Middleton, Lopez, Holiday, DDV

Bench:

Connaughton and 5 guys who are G league players: Frank Mason, Jordan Nwora, Sam Merrill, DJ Wilson, and Thanasis

They have a MLE exception left and then have to sign minimum-salary guys. This isn't a lineup that's going to be attractive to ring chasers either. You are more likely to get guys that are coming off injuries looking to get minutes this year to establish themselves for a bigger contract next year (Cousins, for example).

Details on the Holiday trade:

9:57 a.m. ET: As part of the four-team trade that is an expansion of the Bucks-Pelicans deal that sent Jrue Holiday to Milwaukee, the Oklahoma City Thunder -- who are sending Steven Adams to New Orleans -- will receive George Hill, Darius Miller, a 2023 protected first-round pick (via Denver) and second-round picks in 2023 (via Charlotte) and 2024 (via Washington), sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

It’s halftime... and still no word about Bogdanovic. Curious...

It makes it more likely that the leaked sign and trade was the plan all along and now they are desperately looking for a way to salvage it.

@Packdog posted: That might just be them moving Hill or Bledsoe

Why would the Bucks need to get involved with that?

The original deal hasn’t been finalized has it ? Could wrap in other additions.

It is curious to me that Atlanta spent so much on a 32 year old Gallinari, and were clearly willing to spend big on Bogdan, but haven’t landed him. Maybe something is being hammered out? Might explain the lack of moves this far.

Wouldn’t it be something if Bogdanovic still ended up in Milwaukee?   Makes me wonder given how quickly they dropped Sterling Brown.

If that happens it would mean that Sacramento really wants DDV. They literally have no other assets except Giannis, Lopez, Middleton, and Holiday.

Being reported Bucks signed Bobby Portis ??? !!!

There’s a whole lot of gripping and second guessing and I get it.  I just hope we will end up being pleasantly surprised when this is all said and done.

Either Horst is a genius has a master plan or he’s over his head and making awful moves and decisions and should be fired tomorrow.  I don’t see this ending up any other way.

Portis signs that’s a nice pickup.  Will certainly pick up minutes vacated by Robin Lopez and Ersan.  He’s a better athlete than either of those two and is a decent outside shooter (36%).  Like it.

Seems to me they need another guard and maybe another swing player.

Absolutely he’s an upgrade, although, he’s a different build and player than Lopez.   I consider him a much better version of Ersan.  He’s a very underrated shooter for his size and a decent rebounder.  Plays with a lot of energy.

In theory, they could still do a sign and trade for Bogs.  Would have to include Lopez and DDV and DJ Wilson but maybe that’s why they added Portis.

And they just added Augustine to backup both Gs, same as Divincenzo. I think it’s curious that still nothing from Bogdanovic’s agent on the deal with the Hawks.

Well, the Bucks said they wanted to add shooters and Augustin is a very good shooter.  He’s also younger than George Hill.  3yrs 21MM is a very good value for a guy that has started games for several teams.

With the addition of Augustin they could deal DDV.  I’d miss his defense but if it means getting Bogs that’s worth the swap. Problem is Bucks would need to include Lopez to make the dollars match?

My assumption as well. If that were to happen, who’d play the 5? Maybe Portis? Wouldn’t seem to be his ideal position. I doubt we get Bogdan at this point, but feeling pretty good about what’s been done lately, and keeping DDV is not a bad thing.

How you like to be paying 92 million for these 4 guys?

The Hornets this year will pay: Gordon Hayward $30 million Nicolas Batum $27 million Terry Rozier $18 million Bismack Biyombo $17 million

That’s friggin insane... $92M to hopefully get to .500? Lol...

They are also paying Cody Zeller 15 million so that's

107 million for Zeller, Hawyard, Biyombo, Rozier, and Batum.

The Bucks are paying Giannis, Middleton, Lopez, Holiday, and DDV (the projected starting 5) about the same amount.
