He is. But he can't do that in public

MLFs job is to make life easier on Jordan Love.
HC heaping massive expectations on him doesn't help that effort.

But if the previous poster is looking for more "watch out" rhetoric, ask Google.  Current and former teammates, along with people not affiliated with 1265 have made these types of statements, for whatever that's worth.  MLF has so far been strategically low key and steady on 10.

We should all be looking forward to finally seeing MLF's offense for the first time.

I would argue they ran it in 2019.  Then Rodgers go bored and they went back to letting him play hero ball.

The 2019 offense looked very different than anything we had seen in GB before.  2020 and on has looked more like MM's offense in relation.

I expect the 2023 offense to look more like 2019, or at least I hope it does.  It was fun to watch.

Stafford: fastest QB to 20k yards (# of games) until Mahomes passed him recently.

β€˜Stafford: Fastest QB to 30k yards.

Stafford: 3rd most passing yards by age 30 behind Peyton and Marino.

Stafford: 31 4th quarter comebacks/38 game-winning drives in Detroit.

Stafford: β€œjust padding his stats” , β€œGot Lucky” and was why Detroit wasn’t in the playoffs more?

Putting up strong numbers is generally a good way to help your team win, though can’t do it alone. And the β€œoffensive mind du jour” lobbied to get him over the decent QB they had. Seems like McVay thought he was able to make a difference, and did.

ok, so consensus is that kid gloves are on - got it... nfl should reflect this and heed.  while I agree he may take a slap this year, he should get the brunt of being a starter in the NFL...take his lumps; not sure why we wouldn't want that pressure on him...it should be time, that's why we got rid of 12, well one of the 10 reasons...and your team and HC should be touting you as the next bart starr... he looks great, can't wait to see him in action...it's going to be great...

And 13 wins in 2019 with a supposedly declining Rodgers. How did that happen?

2019 Offensive Line

LT: Bakh, 16 starts

LG: Jenkins, 14 starts

C: Linsley, 16 starts

RG: Turner, 16 starts

RT: Bulaga, 16 starts

There's 4 guys of the 5 that arguably played at close to a Pro Bowl level, and Turner wasn't terrible.

In other words, the Packers should prioritize OL (and DL) in the draft.

Stafford had the arm strength to make throws that only a few guys could ever make. Goff is a very good QB that can make the right reads and work within the offense, but when you get deep into the playoffs, most teams want or need a guy that can throw the ball into tight windows when it matters (like some of the throws Rodgers made when the Packers won that Super Bowl). The Rams don't win the Super Bowl with Goff on that team.

That's what's held the Niners back from winning a Super Bowl during this run. Their QB (Jimmy G) is Goff-like but he can't create something out of what seems to be nothing. They shot their wad going after a guy with a cannon for an arm (Trey Lance), only it looks like Lance was trending more in the Jamarcus Russell direction in terms of looking like a superstar in drills, but then being unable to make the simple throws.

Stafford was the #1 pick in the draft so I won't say he's lucky but when you're trailing most of the time and playing against prevent defenses a lot it's going to help your stats. Having Calvin Johnson for a few years didn't hurt either. I'd say bad coaching and management probably kept them from the playoffs as much as anything.

Like that attitude. I am thinking he could come out of the gate looking like Brock Purdy "Mr. Irrelevant" and light'em up. Rodgers had some great games along the way and some sucky games. I know Love will have his share but thats just the norm anymore. I can't wait for the season to start this year and I am looking for 10 or 11 wins. Thinking Positive!

Some interesting pre-draft analysis on Love.

The opinions were all over the place. Projecting his draft from early first round to UDFA. Basically, they felt that he needs to sit and learn to hone his mechanics. Sounds like the Packers felt the same and that box has been checked. One thing that was brought up was his accuracy. The commentators were unsure how much that could be improved.

Just like Rodgers, the Packers completely retooled Love's throwing motion. So when it's said a QB's accuracy can only slightly be improved I don't believe that to be true in a case where major changes have been made. Love has all the physical skills to be a success but more importantly his head is on straight and he'll be more coachable than Rodgers became.                                                                                                                                                                                                                     When you think about it Lafleur really stepped into a bad situation as a young, first time HC and a veteran like Rodgers who continually wanted more control on and off the field.
