That was an amazing 2nd half run by Love.   Nobody played better than him for that 9 game stretch.

At the end, the thing we worried about with him showed up.   He shit the bed pretty bad in the 4th quarter and then did the unthinkable on the last drive.

Honestly, he had played so well in big moments during that stretch that I, who doubted him more than most, was shocked to see that pass.  Hopefully the experience of that failure keeps him from doing it again but you have to have concern about the way the 4th quarter went.

For clarification, I'm not blaming the loss on him. (I blame Savage if I have to pick 1 guy) Just saying I was disappointed by the 4th quarter.   It was time to shine bright under the pressure, and he did the opposite.

Good news is that it probably saved the Packers several million in future cap space.    He completes that drive for a TD and he is looking at being top paid QB in the NFL.

Told a friend today those last 4 drives and the last pass in particular probably cost him $10M per year.

If Love completes that comeback plus beats the Lions to get to the dance?? $50M per easy

Daniel Jones type money? $35M - $40M per year instead of $50M? I'm probably in the ballpark

Love to focus on footwork this offseason with longtime coach Steve Calhoun. Link (paywall)

But Calhoun saw what anyone who watched Loveโ€™s throwing mechanics saw. So after he sits down with Love later this month to review videotape of some of those back-foot throws and discuss what Love was or wasnโ€™t thinking on them, they will begin work on tightening up Loveโ€™s footwork for his second season as the Packers quarterback.
