Feels like Love hasnโ€™t faced a big pass rush yet this year.  Is that because the backups up front are performing beyond expectations or is he getting the ball out before it can become an issue?    Do we have stats on release time?

I read a stat yesterday that GB has allowed at least 1 sack on only 9% of their drives. That was 4th lowest rate in the league.

I'm sure there are stats on QB release time. It is clear that JL has very good pocket presence.

We've heard a bunch of media guys comment on some similarities to AR that Love is displaying and all want to attribute it to "he learned from watching Aaron" .... what they fail to mention (or grasp) is that they had the same QB coach in Tom Clements. The greatest parting gift that AR gave the Packers was to insist that they rehire Clements.

I've long thought that Arod did Love a solid by getting Clements back.

Love played with a makeshift offensive line in which the interior of the line was completely manhandled by the Lions defensive line.

He lost his rookie TE early in the game and was throwing to H-Back Josiah Degaura once he replaced Musgrave.

He had John Kuhn, I mean AJ Dillon, as his lead back for most of the night (Jones had a whopping 6 touches).

He faced crappy field position the entire game because the D could not stop Detroit and the STs insisted on taking the ball out of the end zone and kept failing to get back to the 20 -- not even the 25.

His "#1" WR was on a pitch count that limited his snaps.

He was down 27-3 at half.

I don't think Jordan Love was good last night.

But I do think he showed continued poise and did not give up.

Don't know if Love is the future, but I'll be damned if he was in the top 5 of the Packer's problems during last night's beatdown by the LIons.

Love wasn't the problem last night. Give any NFL QB on a roster enough time and they'll almost always be successful. The only concerning stat I saw was that Love hits on only 23% of his passes when under pressure (40 pass min.). He needs to improve that, as he does his overall completion rate. Otherwise, all we'll see is teams blitzing (Detroit didn't have to do that last night.) and daring Love to complete the throw. Remember how it was awesome when teams blitzed Rodgers because we knew he'd make them pay? Love has to learn a little of that because if I'm a DC with competent CBs, I'd throw the kitchen sink at Love and dare him to beat me.

Both Herman and Bukowski and some of the guys they were reacting to online spoke at length on a lot of Thursdays issues on offense being rooted in youth - inexperience and lack of attention to detail.  Especially at OL and WR, and that Packers brass was fully aware this was going to be the case when they built the youngest roster in the league. They knew there would be days like these and it's accepted as part of the process.

My issue with this plan is it is an incredible risk. You're banking on all that young talent to have high enough ceilings for the plan to pay off.  And that the coaches are good enough to teach them.  The WR room could use a vet with experience in McVay/MLF system to help with the on field coaching.

I expected this year to be a "let's see what we have here" kind of year without any big expectations. Four games in they will probably be drafting in the top ten. I like what I see from Love. Yea, he misses some throws he should make but also makes some other throws that I was not expecting. Rasheed Walker is playing pretty well for a 7th round draft pick. The Love and Musgrave connection should be the easiest on the team but they cannot get on the same page. The regression of Dillon is baffling. Aaron Jones is the best player on the field but he has been hurt and when he wasnt MLF does not use him. Baffling. The offensive line needs to get a lot better. Hopefully that gets fixed in the draft and free agency.

I don't need to see any more with the defense. It is Joe Barrys defense and will be the same as last year and the year before that. At this point three years in, it will not get better. We just have to ride the year out and hope for changes next year.

Actually I do and we may have to be a bit patient.  We as Packers fans a spoiled rotten bunch who are not used to having a reload year with young players everywhere especially on offense.  This offense is YOUNG as in many of them are rookies or are in playing time equivalent to rookies.  They are going to need some experience and when they do yes I do expect them to get better and if healthy that will be sooner rather than later.   But, a lot will  depend on the OL getting healthy and gaining some continuity which is so important for an OL.

Now that being said I do not see or expect anything different from the defense.  It is the same old chase the opponent, be out of place, and missing tons of tackles defense we have had for a long long time.

Yes..... I didn't expect Jaire, Aaron Jones and the entire O-Line to be down by game #3.

I also expected Joe Bury to improve. It's quite obvious he has not and reverts to his same old bullshit marshmallow soft defensive schemes.

I also don't expect MLF to run Aaron Rodgers offense. Where's the jet sweeps and the motion to get guys open?? You know like Shanarat does? We have the players to do it. Now put them in the best position to succeed!!

I believe with a proper preferred starting O-Line (& D-Line) this is a playoff team or near playoff team.

Yes, THAT's what I expect.

The entire game vs. The Lie-Downs was ruined because the Pack didn't have the preferred starters on the O-Line. It happens and you have to play the cards you're dealt.

Still sucks because the Lions didn't see the real Green Bay Packers.

Receivers are paid to catch the ball. CTFB!!

I was having some fun with my previous post but I'm excited to see what the Packers can do over the next 4-5 game stretch. All games are VERY winnable, now we get to see what the new Packers are made of starting with MNF in Las Vegas

Apparently Barry is as Barry does. ๐Ÿคฌ

Iโ€™ve been calling for the  jet sweeps and motion too but maybe with the young guys and OL shuffle it was too complex? No excuse but do you add more moving parts? That said O slow starts and lack of run not working soโ€ฆ

I think the only one that missed the Lion game that is coming back is Jenkins as I believe Myers, Runyan, and Tom all played that Game but I'm going off of fading memory so I could be off a little here.
