QBโ€™s who sat at least one year before being installed as a starter:

Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady

NFL Teams studying this, their response when they draft a rookie QB?

โ€œTHROW THEM IN THE DEEP ENDโ€!!!

Carson Palmer had a pretty solid career after sitting behind Jon Kitna, as well, and guy made Drew Bledsoe look mobile.

Jalen Hurts sat most of the year until Wentz went down, IIRC, and only started a few games.

If MLF had continued calling plays in the fourth quarter that kept Love in the rhythm he had going earlier, I think it's a W. But MLF turtled up and took the ball out of Love's hands. Then after Atlanta's long drive to take the lead, Love had to come out cold and try to win the game with no TOs, a long way to go, on the road in a loud dome, and in only his third start. That's a really tall task for anyone not named Rodgers or Brady. I'm okay with it as long as Love (and MLF) learn from it.

A completion would have been promising.   Any complete pass.

This is where the great ones are defined.   He was good today, but when he had a chance to be great, he went 0-4.  Shit, did he have a complete pass in the 4th?   I believed it was 2 three n outs prior to last drive, which was a 4 n out

No Watson, Jones, Bahk, or Jenks is huge.   I would argue our four best offensive players.   So he gets a pass.    But still.  Hit for 1 completion?

I agree that great QBs make throws in the fourth, but GB had only 10 offensive plays in the entire fourth quarter. On the first possession, it was two passes and a Dillon run; three Dillon runs on the second possession; and the four passes to end it. Love should have completed at least one pass. Totally agree. But, that second possession of three straight Dillon runs was a momentum killer. I know MLF was trying to kill clock, but Dillon was not doing much all day. And, I saw a young QB who got anxious and ahead of himself trying to win. He knew he had to score after Atlanta came within two. If there's one thing we see from Love, it's that he does get anxious to start a game and today we saw him get the same way when called upon to win it. He does have to learn to channel his emotions and keep his wits when the screws get tightened. Let's see how he does next time he's in the same spot.

Once the Falcons made that 4th down conversion the Packers were dead unless they missed the FG. That drained the clock and any time outs the Packers had. The Falcons have an aggressive defense but even better when they don't have to honor check downs, underneath passes, and the running game.

Love didn't lose it, but neither did he win it. So far, he's been a bit better than I expected: more poised, good decisions, and better in the pocket. The tape will show in the fourth Q that he missed the wide-open Doubs and that he made a couple of bad throws at crunch time. He came close and if Toure had caught that ball -- a tough catch but not impossible -- it would have been really interesting to see what Love could have done. The next time he's in that spot, I want to see what he's learned.

Had that last throw been completed, that would have been a "wow" moment.  There is video from the end zone on that play. He threaded threat ball through 2 tight windows with a rusher in his face.  Part of that is on Toure.

Totally agree. It was a heck of a throw and certainly not an easy catch, but when I watched the replay I couldn't figure out why Toure had his hands about 15 inches apart?
