It'll be interesting to see who takes the bait. A good team doesn't need a locker-room cancer, and a bad team has little to gain by adding a washed-up head case to the team.

If this is it, what a sad ending to the career of one of the half-dozen most gifted athletes ever to take an NFL field.

I have never thought i would say this but i am embarrassed to be a Vikings fan.

What a joke of an organization we have become. A buffoon of a head coach, chasing after Favre the way we have, bending over for Favre the way we did, having the Favre sex scandal, and now this blunder with Moss. Words cannot describe how embarrassed i am of this team. All i have to say is..........

F*ck you Randy. I always loved you but the way you acted the last weeks you truly are a piece of ####. Truly a piece of ####!

F*ck you Childress. I have never liked you and you are a complete buffoon. You have no control over the lockerrrom and you are a joke.

F*ck you Favre. You only care about yourself. I wish you would get hurt as you can give 2 #### less about the Vikings. You are only it in for yourself.

Good Luck in LA Ziggy. After this #### i doubt anyone will help pay for your new Stadium here.

Wondering if I can make this my wallpaper.

Take a screenshot of it and save it your pictures, that should do the trick! Smiler
NFL Network reporting that Chilly made the Moss "cut" ON HIS OWN meaning that management Spielman, Zygi etc. had no idea.

This is an awesome day. Some might sy "Perfect"

This video just for El-Ka-Bong...

"The Bills would have the first crack at him because they have the worst record. Any team claiming Moss would have to pay the rest of his $6.4 million base salary. If Moss goes unclaimed -- a distinct possibility we'll know by 4 p.m. ET Tuesday -- the Vikings owe him the rest of this contract."

I thought contracts weren't guaranteed. Why would MN have to pay this?

Agreed! The "slouch" is just the kind of player Jones loves. They are made for each other

If a player is on the roster the first day of the season, his salary becomes guaranteed. Since Moss was on the Patriots roster throughout training camp and the first 4 games and his contract was traded to the Vikings, the Vikings are now on the hook for his remaining salary if he is unclaimed.

Words can't describe what is happening with the Vikings. I had hoped they would fall apart this season, but this is unreal. And I'm loving every moment of it.

If that's true, I just can't imagine Chilly lasting the week.

Not only an incredible amount of dum coming from CKA, he's just lost the team.

Period.

I'm starting to wonder if Moss really wasn't officially waived after all. Maybe Childress didn't file the proper paperwork? Filing the proper paperwork might be a little too tough for him.

I'm starting to wonder if Moss will stay a Viking and Chilly is the one who will get "waived". I hope that is not true. Please keep Chilly around for a long long time!!!!
Per Mort the move hasn't been officially made and this decision would be 100% on CKA as Rick Spielman and Zigi Wilf had no idea this had transpired. Mort did say however that CKA does have full control over personnel decisions therefore he wouldn't have needed their permission to cut him.

While the move hasn't been made, Moss' agent did release a statement expressing Randy's sadness in being waived and that he and Moss look forward to what the waiver process will bring and Moss' next step from there.

So obviously Moss has been informed as has his agent and damage is clearly done.

The ONLY way I can see Moss somehow remaining a Viking is if they can Chilly tonight. If that happens, then it's probably one of their coordinators gets the temporary nod. I can't see anyone including Mooch just taking over a team and system in mid-season and expect them to know WTF their doing. They'd be inherting his schit storm.

Regardless, the team and organization is just a hot mess right now.

Mort said without a doubt Chilly has lost the team and no one has confidence he knows what he's doing.
FavrESPN is saying Randy has not showed up on the waiver list and the players don't like Chilly and possibly Zygi doesn't like all of this.

Tommy Jack said Chilly needs to take control of the QB position in the same way he took control of the WR position.
Could very well be that CKA, in his own kick ass way, told Moss he'd be waived but didn't file the paperwork. Just because you say it's so doesn't make it so. If the paperwork wasn't filed, and the Queens act fast, they could fire CKA and keep Moss on. That way they get rid of one problem (CKA), and solve two others (Brent hating CKA and the players disrespecting him, and the fans hating CKA). They could simply hand the keys over to Brent to coach and play. No doubt he thinks he could do it. Because, face it, if you were Bevell or Frazier, would you want to inherit that hell-hole of a situation knowing you were not only a lame duck but an emasculated one as well? Ugh. Roll Eyes
I think people are manufacturing a story about the paperwork, to be honest.

Moss' agent is aware, he's commented, he's been waived. If Chilly did this "on his own", it's likely that the paperwork follows a bit later than if it were planned.

Maybe this is real and Zygi saves the day and fires Chilly (who's owed ~$12M) in order to save Moss and the locker room. But, holy cow, that over reaction seems almost more destructive than backing your coach to be honest.

Personally, I think the paperwork goes tomorrow without incident, but I could be wrong.

You play with the devil, you're gonna get burned.
Bevell as head coach works for me if he's the guy who, after AP had 59 yards in the first quarter and the Patriots had no answer, decided to start throwing it?

That dude would be fine, we just need a nickname for him. How does "Dumbass" sound?

EDIT: Got it! "Dumb Ass Darrell" (DAD)
Time has come to fire Childress

quote:

It was like being in a loony bin.

Afterward, Randy Moss talked about how much he misses the New England Patriots and the "greatest coach in this history of football," Bill Belichick. He also chastised his current teammates for not being more appreciative of him during the week, when he tried to outline the Patriots' tendencies.

Brett Favre, eight stitches in his chin, admitted that while he was being carted off the field in the fourth quarter, semiconscious, he wondered, "What in the world am I doing?" When asked if he would undergo tests for a possible concussion, Favre replied: "I don't know; I don't remember." Then he broke into a laugh.

Brad Childress, who made another bad goal-line decision and another bad challenge, sort of brushed off the loss, saying: "We got nine to go."
What didn't happen, however, was owner Zygi Wilf pulling from his coat pocket a press release announcing Childress' dismissal. There were rumors that he might, and I half expected it. That's how he fired Mike Tice, you'll recall. Wilf had a press release all typed up and ready to distribute as the media entered the locker room immediately after Tice's Vikings had defeated the Chicago Bears.

It was a classless, oily thing to do, so naturally I expected him to do it again. This time, maybe he should have.

Nothing would apply a better kick in the pants to this slouching group than a change at the top. Whether Childress deserves to get canned is irrelevant. As Clint Eastwood said: "Deserves'' got nothing to do with it. Consider it a tactical move designed to get the team's attention.

If Wilf doesn't can him tonight, look for about 300 of these articles to be written before mid-week.
