He might not care. A member of the franchise who was privy to details of a team meeting Monday said Childress told players that Moss' actions were not consistent with what he wanted from his guys. The coach said his superiors could fire him, but he was going to make the move regardless. continue

This guy is setting his career on fire. He got paid and now he doesn't give a flying flapjack what happens.
Coach Dumbass ought to be careful there. He'll get paid if he gets canned, but depending on the language in his contract, purposely doing something that he knows will get him fired could = termination for cause.

In other words, as far as those extra years on his deal would be concerned...

He's probably dum enough not to check on that before running his mouth.
Excellent work Pack4FR....you should write for the Onion.

I really think we could build an entire book of hilarious posts based on this incident (Tim's last nail in the coffin picture is wonderful too)....or at least a chapter in the X4 Big Book of Posts. If Boris wants to make some money, I guarantee that would be a best seller (within a certain limited demographic)...but a best seller non-the-less.

It would also be cool to have 2 published authors associated with X4....Gerky Shmirtz would be proud.

I just glanced at that for a bit.

Gotta love the Teddy B thread. The dude that started that one has to have constantly purple lips from sucking all the grape kool-aid.

Scarey thing is that in reading his opening post I thought it was written by someone who used to post here all the time. Same style, same absurity.
Since becoming the Vikings’ coach in 2006, Childress has consistently preached that he wants “good people who are good football players,”

Hmmm... I wonder if Chilly thinks a married man sexting someone half his age are the actions of a good person?
I dont think we need a article describing him complaining about food to know he is piece of crap. Thats been documented for some time now. Thanks for the ground breaking story Yahoo.

In other news, smoking is bad for you and crack use leads to poor decision making.

C'mon, now, you know they don't have that many fans. Hence the local blackouts that will ensue - again - as soon as the Favrt show leaves town. Possibly before.

He's very respected and talented.

Career average 6.4 YPC.

He's not going to get another job in the NFL either. Not as HC anyway.
maybe the Bears could land him as their Offensive Coordinator ...

Be nice to keep him in the Division in some fashion (Other than anywhere near the Packer Organization).

Maybe one of those "Kick A$$" pictures will come true

As is the team’s custom on Fridays, a local food establishment was invited to the training facility to serve a catered, post-practice meal in the locker room. In this case, a St. Paul restaurant that is a favorite of former Vikings center Matt Birk(notes). As the proprietors helped serve chicken, ribs, pasta and other dishes to Vikings players, Moss paced up and down the serving line and loudly expressed his displeasure with the offerings.

According to one player who witnessed the scene, Moss yelled, “What the [expletive]? Who ordered this crap? I wouldn’t feed this to my dog!”

Said the witness: “It was brutal. The truth is, he deserved to be cut after that. It was such an uncomfortable moment. You know that feeling where you just can tell someone feels so small? That’s what it was like being there.

“This wasn’t a chain – it was a mom-and-pop restaurant, and you could tell it was their best stuff. They had a special carving station set up, and there were players and other support staff lining up to eat it. And [Moss] is at his locker saying, ‘You know, I used to have to eat that crap – but now I’ve got money.’ You just felt so sad for them. I had never seen anyone treated like that.

“And by the way, the food was actually really good.”

LOL, what a tool Moss is.

Viking players are not making friends with restaurants. Longwell doesn't like Applebees, and now Moss doesn't like mom and pop diners.
Moss wanted out. I bet this was a)Moss being Moss, and b)frustration with CKA and being stuck on a second-rate franchise. He just lashed out. Fair to the caterer? No, and stuff like that doesn't play well in Mpls, but the Bad Randy needed something to lash out at something and he found it. Heck, he probably would have screamed at the brand of bottled water they offered at that point!
From the article above: "If Favre would have had a ball, he would have beaned him right in the head. Favre looked at him like, 'Are you kidding me?'" Tinucci told the Pioneer Press.

I think the first sentence should be "had any balls"

This is from Joe Arrigo:

"Has heard from two different sources that the Packers are indeed that is seriously thinking of putting in a claim for Randy Moss. They are doing their due diligence on him to the point that McCarthy was late to the taping of his TV show. Moss would be used in Finley's role the remainder of the season and provide insurance in case Driver is out longer than they think and open Jennings up to single coverage the same way Moss did for Harvin."
