If Moss is somehow retained, Childress is ass canned, Fraizer is promoted, let's not assume everything is all peaches and cream.

Watching Monday Night Countdown and listening to players like former Packer Gilbert Brown who was interviewed on WSSP this afternoon...

Brown said had Moss made that nut job PC talking about how much love he had for team that just kicked your ass and you lost to, Brown said Moss would have been welcomed into his locker room with a punch right to his face.

MeShawn and Tom Jackson from ESPN while acknowledging Childress has totally lost his team echoed similar comments that Brown did. Saying that PC was complete crap and said Childress should be pissed for not just words said but Randy's pathetic effort on the pass he could have easily caught which then doesn't lead to Favre getting hammered.

No matter what happens, it's likely to stay ugly. Part of that locker room probably doesn't want Moss back. Another part does and feels CKA needs to go.

It's just a mess. And as Carter said on ESPN, damage has been done and knowing Moss as well as he does, he likely wouldn't want to be on the team now anyway.

LOL. It's awesome. Smiler

According to one person with knowledge of the situation, Childress told the team that Moss' actions were not the way things were done around the Vikings organization or how people were to be treated.

The waiver period is 24 hours, so if Moss goes on Tuesday, he would be on until Wednesday. Miami and Seattle already have shown interest in Moss. Any team that claims Moss would be responsible for the balance of Moss' $6.4 million base salary, or the Vikings will owe the balance. If he clears waivers, the Vikings still must pay him, and he could sign with another team for a smaller salary
Stopping at my local watering hole today on the way home to gloat after work, I had a fan bring up an interesting point that I hadn't considered.

Chris Carter was Moss' mentor when he came in to the league. He was on Mike and Mike this morning and basically took Moss' side of the conversation and once they realized he would never dis(respect) Moss they quickly switched subjects. Considering Chris' past and his craptastic attitude, its no surprise. Add to that, the fact that Harvin was starting to consider Moss his mentor quickly, well, heh, I wish it would have lasted longer.

Personally I really just love the meltdown, wait, correction, EPIC meltdown.

Add that to Brent on the cart in a fetal position with Smithers holding gauze to his chin, wow.

Lets beat the tar out of the cowgirls, get in to the bye at 6-3, reassess, focus, and get schmidt done!!!

Reports: Brad Childress acted alone on Moss; has "lost the locker room"

ESPN's Chris Mortensen said on SportsCenter Monday evening that Childress has "lost the locker room."

"He really has," Mortensen said. "The players are not Childress guys right now. There's a sense there, 'does this head coach really know what he's doing?' That's the truth. You talk to people in that locker room, that's what you you're gonna get from them." continue

I have absolutely no way to verify this, so take it as is, but I was working at a jobsite 2 weeks ago, the main guy I had to work with is the neighbor of "Vishuant" Shenko. (quotes done for the new pronunciation) They had been talking and V laughed at his questions regarding CKA and BF... He wouldnt say exactly, but it was solidly implied that CKA has no control and "you figure out who is running the team..."

All hearsay an crap. Yes. *shrugs* take of it as you will. At the time I didnt think much of it and was surprised that a Viking fan was as cordial as they were to me.

But the evidence does seem to belie facts. Good 'nuff for me!
I think this may be CKA's way of getting out of this whole mess. It would be nearly impossible to salvage the season, Favre has been awful but CKA doesn't have the cahones to bench him, he's obviously lost the team. Doesn't matter how poorly Brent plays, CKA will get all of the blame, mostly due to the love affair with everything Favre.

CKA apparently has the authority to dump anybody he wants to, so he dumps Moss. Moss certainly deserves it with his lazy play and post game rant. If Ziggy wants to keep Moss, he's going to have to fire CKA. If Ziggy doesn't fire CKA, then the Moss release is CKA's way of proving that he's still running the asylum. It's kind of a win/win for CKA...at least as much of a win/win as is possible at this stage of the meltdown.

just sayin...shouldn't have picked him up at the airport last year.

Bud Grant still works as an advisor for the Vikings, he even has his own office at Winter Park.

I wonder what his take is on all this. I really respect this guy - one of the few Viking greats.

.Those who know Zygi Wilf say Vikings owner is angry his team plans to waive the player that he wanted, and worked to bring back, to Minn.
less than 5 seconds ago via ÜberTwitter .Vikings plan to activate WR Sidney Rice by the Nov. 9 deadline, but Rice still is at least a couple weeks away from playing.
3 minutes ago via web .FWIW, being told WR Randy Moss is open to returning to Minnesota. Whether it happens is anyone's guess.

It sounds to me a lot of people are talking without knowing what is really going on.
The queens need to tear down that team and start over in LA.
NFL Network just broke into programming and confirmed Moss was released. It's on their scroll right now. Brad Childress issued a statement to the media:
quote:
"The decision was made based on what we thought was in the best interests of the Minnesota Vikings, both in the short and long term. We wish Randy Moss the best as he moves forward with his career.
And somewhere 10's of thousands of Vikings fans heads just imploded.

From ESPN:

quote:
Near the end of what was a lost season in 2006, Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress cut his leading receiver a few days after some comments critical of the team's approach appeared in a local newspaper. Childress was so incensed, in fact, that he released receiver Marcus Robinson on Christmas Eve.

It was hard not to think of that episode Monday after the Vikings decided to waive receiver Randy Moss, less than 24 hours after he took shots at Childress and the entire team during a rant following the Vikings' 28-18 loss to the New England Patriots

I had totally forgetten about that and at the time, it seemed a damn strange move.

CKA's obviously has a pretty fragile vagina.

Wonder how many players he cuts by next week as the lynch mob grows.
Another gem from a Vikings message board - a poll thread entitled, "The Vikings' lost season: which stage of grief are you at?" Here's the opening post:

quote:
These are the five stages of grief in their correct order from denial to acceptance. I am wondering where everyone is at. I've also made it so you can revote if you "advance" from the stage you are currently at and go to the next one.

Nope.

Teams (in reverse order of wins/losses) can claim Moss before other teams can do it.

However, if no team claims him by 400pm ESt Wednesday, then he becomes an UFA and can sign with anyone.

Apparently the Phins and one other team have already expressed interest.

Highly doubt he isn't claimed by the deadline tomorrow.
