I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up in Chicago.

I did too. Up until the trade deadline they don't, once it's past they do. If I'm remembering correctly the last big one like this was Deion Sanders when the Chargers were going to claim him to keep him away from ?
Marty Schottenheimer was going to sign him just to piss him off. Marty hated Deion for the way he behaved at Washington when Marty was at DC. Deion retired to make that a moot point.
Great story.

I guess Deion didn't have the gleam

I've been following them all season, tracking them through their hubris in September when they were all trying to decide how many days vacation to take when they celebrate the Super Bowl victory next February, through their "WTF is going on with Favre?" stage, and now the "OMG the world is coming to an end!" stage. It's like watching bugs in a jar, except when you're watching bugs you feel somewhat sorry for them.
Bud Grant just turned off all heat to the building, except under CKA. The heat's on!
Thanks Dave.

I refuse to go to that Viking site. I'm bigger than that. I'd feel like a gawker on the freeway. But if any of you want to post quotes....go right ahead.

Jay_Glazer Just sayin, wilf's were furious, players were quite ticked, front office disagreed w move yet childress still won out. Interesting
So the owner is "furious" yet Childress gets his way and the Queens lose Moss and a 3rd rounder for 3 weeks rental.
Wow. That's some owner they've got.
Queens should just start packing for LA now.
What fan is going to pay to support that train wreck?

Yea but everyone has you on ignore. It's like that whole tree falling in the woods thing.
Not just the third, but a couple few million dollars as well. I'd love to know the running total on how much the Zigster put into creating this winning environment. When you add up Favre's bonus, Chilly Willy's extension, and the Moss contract they have to pay off it's downright silly.
Childress waives Moss, Wilf, Sterger, Others Winter Park, MN (JP)
Vikings head coach Brad Childress today waived Randy Moss and several players off his struggling squad, along with owner Ziggy Wilf, sports pundit hottie Jen Sterger, and in a surprise move, Iranβs president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
βThe main thing here is stability,β said Childress, sweating heavily, his eyes darting around the room. βAll the people waived today were threatening the stability of this team, and as head coach, I canβt stand for that.β
Asked how he could βwaiveβ people that are not even working for the Vikings organization, Childress was non-committal.
βI know that Iran guy isnβt on the team, but heβs got a real mouth on him,β said Childress, while incessantly clicking a pair of steel balls in one hand. βYouβve got to stand up to guys like that, which is why Iβm also waiving NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.β Goodell failed yesterday to suspend two Patriots players after flagrant helmet to face hits on future Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre.
βThe Sterger thing is pretty obvious,β said Childress. βAll I can say about that is I can tell you without a doubt that itβs not Brettβs penis in those photos. You just have to trust me on that one.β
Childress failed to offer details on how waiving large-breasted sizzler Sterger would stop her from suing his starting quarterback.
On waiving Vikings owner Ziggy Wilf, Childress was circumspect.
βLetβs just say there were rumors that he was thinking of firing someone on the coaching staff,β said Childress. βI had to head that one off at the pass.β
The interview ended abruptly as coach Childress turned to one side and began conversing with someone invisible named βCaptain Howdy.β

Aren't they also looking at taxpayer money to help fund a stadium? May not go so well considering all the money they flushed away.
The worst part about all of this is having to wait a year before seeing the Viking's season summary by NFL films. This must go on DVD!
Not to theatres, but straight to the 99 cent DVD bin.
The Cards should sign Randy so he can fill us in on the Queens tendencies before Sunday's game. Then we can waive him too. Actually, now that I think of it, good Randy would be a nice bookend to Fitz. They would both be wide open deep and no QB on our roster could hit them.
You couldn't make this up if you tried. How long before threats of blackouts again in Minnesota?
Red I'm imagining you have your sights on McNabb for next year?
I love blackouts.

Lost in Randy Gate was the McNabb fiasco yesterday.
Another reason and reminder that we could do a lot worse then MM/TT.
That was one of the strangest things I've ever seen. There's something up with McNabb though. Always seems to be weird stuff going on around him. If anyone thinks Rex Grossman is a better option it's gotta make you wonder. There seemed to be tension in Philly with him too. Both coaches are control freaks with definitive ideas about how to run offense and McNabb is more free lancer like Favre. You can't think of many teams outside of Indy where they let the QB do his own thing. MM seems to be dropping hints left and right that Rodgers is trying to do his own thing a bit too much, too.
Via Jay Glazer's twitter feed:
It's really amazing Favre and Childress are having a power struggle for the team and ownership isn't choosing either side. They let Brett manipulate him in and then Childress cut him loose.

LOL @ Pack4FR!!
I'm not too sure what everyone is so excited about... I'm gonna be pretty sad if the buffoon just got himself fired. He's been a real treat for us

Vikings sink deeper into lunacy
LMAO. It's Christmas all week.

Thanks for stopping by, Randy.
Things took another turn toward the ridiculous at the loony bin Monday as the Vikings decided to waive Randy Moss. Clearly, this was an effort by Brad Childress to retain control as this season, and probably the guys in the locker room, slip away from him. But it looks as if he's clinging by his fingertips.
Apparently, though, the Jersey boys aren't considering a coaching move, even though they run the risk of being pelted with eggs and tomatoes as they stroll across our humble tundra. Right or wrong, Childress is about as popular as the emerald ash borer in Minnesota. (The Wilfs rank about even with milfoil.)
However, Zygi isn't from here, doesn't live here and probably doesn't give a damn what people think. He signed off on the Moss trade and he also signed off on the Moss firing. So he's obviously still aligned with his head coach.
The good news is that the Vikings have become nutty to the point of being entertaining. All we need is Herschel Walker talking about doing 10,000 pushups every morning and living off one French fry per day. Right now, it's like watching a monster truck tip over on its side and sort of spin in the dirt.
Signing the screwy Moss smacked of desperation to begin with. Waiving him appears to be even more of an act of desperation. I'm sure a few more players will tune out Childress after his latest move. Of course, we all knew there would be trouble with Moss. Vikings fans remember the young,
fast wide receiver. Now he's not so young and not so fast. However, he continues to be a problem. Only Patriots coach Bill Belichick was able to keep him in line.
The move could accelerate the team's downward spiral. Although Moss is a negative force in the locker room and a "me-first" player β which Childress and staff should have known, by the way β it's got to be a tough sell to the remaining players that they are better off with Bernard Berrian at wideout.
Plus, it's probably just a matter of time until other Vikings figure out that they can escape this hellish season by criticizing the coach's play calling and/or otherwise badmouthing the organization. It's like getting a free ticket out of town.
LMAO. It's Christmas all week.
Tim, I've always liked McNabb and he seems like he would be the best option for us next year. I'm sure our QBOF is not on our roster now. My love for our rookie Max has disappeared. McNabb lives in Phoenix in the off season, so it might be a good fit. Frankly, I'm worried about losing Fitz if we don't get a QB that can feed him; Fitz has 2 years left on his contract iirc. I didn't see the 'skins game yesterday but I understand McNabb got pulled due to a) he didn't know the 2 minute offense b) he didn't have the cardio left to run it. That sounds like some coachspeak BS to me. Shanahan is a tool, I always love to see his face after a big loss. After watching our QB play this year I think the Cards would really rally around McNabb if he came to Phoenix next year.
P.S.: I'm thinking 99.9% of X4 will be Card fans this week. Some friendly advice, don't bet on us. I'd like to see a big upset with the dongslinger carried off the field on his shield after meeting Mr. Dockett but thats just me chugging the Cardinal koolaid.

Too good to be true. But it is true, so I'm loving it.
