I agree with that idea for the first couple days but we don't need any more day 3 WR's. We're flush with them. Unless there is some guy they love that they thought slipped that far.
If there is a sure thing, unicorn, LT when they pick in R1, do it. Then move BuckCherry to RT.
Gotta get a Pass Rusher and a OT in their first 3 picks. Premium draft positions and the Pack is in bad need. Sure would have been nice if Spriggs didn't suck.
yep. pass rusher is a premium position.
Rush the passer and stop the pass rusher.
Bak is still a pro bowl level LT. You leave him there and put a RD1 rook at RT. Then he can move over to LT when Bak starts fading.
Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida seen in top 10.
Cody Ford, G, Oklahoma mid RD1.
Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss in the late 20's which could turn into 30-32.
Parris Campbell, WR, Ohio State slated as #1WR, also slipping to end of RD1.
Tons (probably literally) of DT and LBs to pick from all over the first day.
Everyone's favorite TE Noah Fant slated to mid RD2. Lots of OL in RD2.

I was suggesting only if there is a unicorn there.

Not sure there is a franchise QB in this class. Next year it will be Tua.
It's tough sledding for QB's this year. Too many pressing needs to consider anyway. Gute seems more focused on the near future than long. Everyone likes to point at TT taking AR when he still had #4 but Farb had been contemplating retirement for several years before that fateful day in April. AR agreed to too much money to consider quitting and says he wants to play to 40. I don't see Gooch taking a QB high in the next 2-3 drafts.

GD I agree edge rusher is priority #1, I assume a case for CB, S RT,RG and TE in what ever order matches the board could be made, how do you see this unfolding?
I am also hoping a Tackle Gute likes is available at 30 or 40. I did not see every Wisconsin game this year but David Johnson looks in the Bak mold and I hope he does not have TT's phobia about local players. I watched a lot of tackles this year, I am nervous and Williams from Alabama, he might be a great guard but I just see Greg Robinson all over again. I watched Rodney Cajuste and he looks great drive blocking not so much pass blocking and Greg Little I don't know what to think. I could see Gute taking Noah Fant at 30 and hoping his tackle is there at 40?
The greatest depth of this draft is on the defensive side so three and four might be spent on promising DBs
They need to rebuild the OL. Maybe they can do part of that in FA, but it is priority number 1 in the draft. It is what they are left with after years of TT mess.
bullshit
We draft at least (LEAST!) 4 wide receivers or we are not ****ing GREEN BAY
OL all day.

And a punter
I think there should be an interactive system that allows the fans to make the picks. Instant dynasty.

I don't think Edge HAS to be a priority. Pettine seems to be able to get by just fine without a premier pass rusher, as he was able to do with the NYJ. We just need more reliable players at OLB, guys who are strong against the run and can at least put pressure on the QB. Gilbert, CM and Perry have been liabilities against the run this year and just aren't pushing the pocket. Ferrell is an insane talent at End, we should take the BPA if we stay in the 10's and I'm hoping he's the guy.
Who knows how things could unfold, there are lots of areas of concern that Gute could address. I don't love the OT class, but the OG class looks deep. I think he will take the TT method and wait until Day 2 to address the OL probably grabbing an interior guy and then trying to find a couple more TJ Langs on Day 3. Hard to say how much Gute values TEs at this point, he didn't seem to like any last year.
IMO, Pettine's defense relies most heavily on CB and ILB. We made a good investment in CB last year, so I could see Gute waiting until Day 2 to snag another Josh Jackson-type. Depending on how things shake out with evaluations and how they finish and him targeting Bama ILB Mack Wilson somewhere in the teens.
I understand modern NFL defenses aren't pure 4-3 vs 3-4 these days but I wonder if the Packers won't switch to a 4-3 base D moving forward.
It made sense to be a 3-4 in CMIII and Raji's primes. We're long past that.
4-3 ends seem to be much easier to find. I think Kenny Clark is just so good he can play in either. Much like Cullen Jenkins did. Same with Lowry, who's becoming a pretty decent DE.
MM also highly preferred a 3-4. That's also no longer an issue
I think Pettine prefers a base 34 look, but it's that Buddy Ryan 46 defense in execution. If we stick with him I think that's going to be what we do going forward. There are players whose skills lend better to the 43...Daniels at 3-tech, KC at Nose, Lowry at LDE, Perry at RDE, Martinez at MLB, Burks at SLB, etc.
ChilliJon posted:Grave Digger posted:It's a pretty bad year for OTs IMO. The OG class looks stacked though. We could come out with 2 plug and play starters on Day 2 for sure. We might have to try and find a David Bahktiari early on Day 3 though, the top of this OT class is just weak.
Totally shocked you’d post something like this. You’re normally far more protective of previous posts about $7 million bargains.
GD I agree but I just don't see them double dipping on guards in 2and 3. It would depend on how the board falls I prefer PR (Allen on Ferrell) TE or OT and then find a replacement cb/s that can cover and tackle!! Should the board dictate otherwise I am good with a competent 2nd rd guard. Has anybody heard if Cole Madison has decided to come back next year!! I thought he was a great value pick last year

I disagree. Pass rusher is a definite need, but I think this looks like a good draft for OTs and OGs in the mid rounds vs. early. With that extra #1, waiting until the third for a guy like Yodny Cajuste might be the best bet at RT, While a Michael Deiter or Max Sharping at guard in Round 4.

You want your best 5 out there.
Would Bulaga be able to move to guard?

Which I am going to have to do for a few days because I am having carpel tunnel surgery on my right hand Monday.
Good luck

Are you having the new carpal tunnel thread release procedure ? Have seen a few of them and patients do reall well.

Ammo look at the bright side if Willaim Andrews does the surgery and something goes wrong you can sue him for 180 million (like Sheldon Richardson) and then you will be able tohire a lot of Viking fans to do it for you

Are you certain you have carpal tunnel syndrome? If you have any doubts, get a blood test for hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism mimics carpal tunnel syndrome. I was at my Dentist's office talking to the hygienist about my upcoming surgical procedure for carpal tunnel when she told me about the hypothyroidism thing. I had a blood test and it confirmed hypothyroidism. I was able to cancel the carpal tunnel surgery after the medication, Synthroid, or it's generic equivalent, Levothyroxine, got my thyroid gland back in working order. Saved an unnecessary surgery.
We need to fix our O Line. We need to draft a RT and a RG or draft one of those positions and find the other in FA. Then we can go after a pass rusher. We need a pass rusher as we cannot count on Nick Perry being able to stay on the field. Matthews is disruptive on the line but has trouble getting to the QB, it seems. Fackrell has shown some pass rush abilities this season, but he is #3 on the depth chart. Depending on how things fall to Gute in the draft, I say OT/OG then pass rusher and then get a back up player for OT/ OG. Then go after a TE, D Line player for depth, Safety or another CB.

I wouldn’t eat that, looks gross. Did Dom Capers make that for you?
OL is certainly a priority. Both lines are. Pass rush and protect Rodgers.

Yep. Had the shock test about 2 months ago. Absolutely carpel tunnel. No issues with left hand, only the right one.
