I think the key to understanding this year's draft is quality over quantity. They love the guys they got, to the extent that they didn't trade down to get nearly the same player later, but even traded up.  Watching #114 and #118 go by, when they could have been an extra OL and another mid-level skill player (RB for example) hurts. But they wanted a top level safety.

The danger is that fewer players drafted means you have fewer chances to find that diamond in the rough.  If you fall in love with a few guys, you better hit on it. Gute doesn't lack confidence and didn't play it safe with any of his picks.  Brave move when the team had a lot of holes (like guards). A few injuries could leave us with real scrubs on the field.

Glad to see Schneider has given Uncle Ted something to do. Also, he needs to lay off the Hipster diet or switch to "relaxed fit," shirts. He's one basket of asada fries away from mom jeans.

That looks like a scene out of Arrested Development.

"We've got frozen bananas?"

Nag, lots of good, intriguing prospects went on or after picks 14 & 16: Isaiah Johnson, Dru Samia, Renell Wren, Tony pollard, Greg Gaines, John Cominsky, Foster Moreau. Marvell Tell, Ben Burr-Kirven plus the first six picks in Round 4 were interesting.

F**Kin Mayock....damnit he's pissing me off RayDuhs just took Hunter Renfro

I hear you, but we don't need a developmental WR, we have plenty of those already. The time for WR was round 2-3...IMHO.

Keke, looks like another guy for a 4-3 defense. Pettine has another player who doesn’t fit the usual perceptions for a 3-4. I think things are going to be even more different on defense this year.

Not sure we need another developmental tweener D-Lineman/Linebacker either. Haven't we had plenty of those over the past few years? I honestly don't know a darn thing about this guy but every year our drafts are so one-sidedly D oriented and we still suck on that side of the ball. Things better start turning around this year with all of the resources we keep putting there.

Justin Hollins is another freak I could have seen Gutekunst take. Similar to Gary, numerous people thought he should have produced more but he lit up the Shrine Game.

This might be the biggest tweener draft for the packers in memory.

I'm a little underwhelmed by our collective picks but we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully all of these guys pan out and end up contributing. I think the Gary selection and trading both of our 4th RD picks just kind of took the luster off of the entire draft for me.

Yeah, sans the fourth rounders we went and saw Endgame this morning so we could avoid spoilers.

For the next 3 drafts every pick should be on the O side of the ball just to even things up a bit from the last 6 years.

6 years?

The last 8 top picks and 14 of the last 18 last 1st and 2nd round picks have gone to the D.

Can't blame Gutey and Pettine for the Ted-Dom shartshow combo, but these recent defensive picks need to start producing dividends in 2019.
