Hey boys, I didnt forget about ya...

I really didnt like the Gary pick, and I wasn’t a fan of trading up burning two fours to select a safety that is undersized, but if they feel that he is that good and undervalued, i get it.

No one really jumps out at you and screams potential all-pro.  Gary is the closest thing because he is almost all potential, but he didnt harness any of it at Michigan.. will he respond in Green Bay?

Im not going to declare him the next Buster Raji.. but I just hope he brings effort to the table and works to improve his technique.  He really needs to dedicate to his craft though.  GB took a large risk here.  I would have traded down with both 1sts instead of drafting at 12 and moving up.  The draft was too deep especially in rounds 2-5 to take a flyer at 12 on a guy that couldn’t dominate college linemen.

You make it sound so easy to trade down, not once but twice.  1st, you have to find a trade partner. Then you want to get better value while they want the better value.  The best GMs let the board come to them Sure we could have tried to swing a trade with Washington, but they stayed true to their board and got the QB they wanted without giving up anything.

I've come around to the idea that we might just be OK at WR without having taken another one in the first two days of the draft this year.  And it's not because I think any of last year's late rounders have a #2 or #1 among them..based on what we're used to a #2 or #3 doing in the GB offense.

After over a decade of watching MM's offense it's easy to get stuck in the mindset that you need elite WR's to make the passing game work.  That premise, along with elite QB play, is what MM banked on to have the success he had.  MLF's system on the other hand relies on scheme unpredictability on a play-by-play basis rather than guys consistently winning their 1-on-1's.

One example of this is the slot receiver position in MLF's O.  Some are still gnashing their teeth at the fact we don't have a "slot type guy" on the roster with the departure of Cobb.  MLF has used all kinds of guys in that roll, most notably Julio Jones while he was in ATL.  We've already heard that Adams will be seeing more time in the slot as well.

All said, I don't think even MLF or BG know exactly what their needs are at WR.  And they won't until they at least get a season under their belt to see who fits where and where they may still have some holes.

The encouraging thing about WR is our new WR coach Alvis Whited. He's coached two Biletnikoff finalists at CSU and may be able to get more out of our 3 talented youngsters. If their talent is fully realized, we will be DEEP at WR. We saw flashes of serious talent from 2/3 of that group, if Moore makes any kind of 2nd year jump then we will be fine at WR. Combined with a healthy Allison I think the group has solid potential.

What? No, it's easy. If we think the players at 12 stink it automatically makes it more attractive to every other team. Amazed the Cardinals didn't offer us the No.1 pick AND Josh Rosen for the #12 pick.

I saw some cut ups of Moore's route running from college recently on the twit.  He has all the physical skills and ability you want in a WR.  I'm not sure exactly what was holding him back last year but if the new staff is able to get that talent to produce, he will be very good.

Best trade/signing/move GB made this offseason is MLF.

Only because McStupidFace and Moss were fired in season.

I'm sorry, could you repeat that. Moss was fired?

Sure.

Moss. Was. Fired.

The best kind of firing, too. From a guy that had no long term authority and was later dumped himself.

Moss was fired because he thought for some ridiculous thinking he was capable of thinking he should have been named interim coach.

Moss should have been jettisoned years ago. **** he was a waste of everyone’s time.

Last season, Moore appeared to be our weak link in the WR corps. MLF and Co. have to turn him in the right direction or he will be relegated to STs, or maybe even cut or traded. I still want to see Allen Lazard get a chance to compete for a spot as WR, as well. We have some depth at WR, now. Here's hoping Moore, Lazard can add to that. Another guy that intrigues me is Derrius Shepherd, the WR/ Returner out of Dakota. He will add more depth and will make it harder on MLF when roster cut downs begin. It will also be good to give Davis some competition on STs.
