Spot on Chongo.  The couple tears I’ve done it is every bit of a year for “regular” folks.  In fact a lot out there saying non operative is start to be standard of care in non athletes even the weekend warrior as best to just get them in rehab due to the atrophy.   I would not have expected them to have to do any transfer as I’m sure they got to the OR before could retract but that’s another factor in recovery time.

I wanted to see what would happen if we traded out of 28, and the best value/need I could find at 35 was McBride, so the first four picks ended up being offense. After that, I still got quality defense, and some more playmakers, plus a whole lotta' speed on both sides of the ball.

I ended up making four trades down, and nabbed 6 picks from the top 100...almost 7, and 9 of the top 150. After that, it was a long wait until the 7th round to see who was left, and that turned out to be pretty good, too.

I think the Mock Draft Database is the best for actual trade value when you stick with "Strict" for the trade settings. NFL Mock Draft Simulator | NFL Mock Draft Database

Damn cool website, they do all the work for u

I picked 2 defense line fatties from Georgia

22 . J. Davis

28. D. Wyatt

Guess I might as well throw my $.02 in on this thread.

I hope Gute grabs a WR and BPA of DL/Edge in the first.

I hope he grabs another WR and Leo Chanel (LB) in the 2nd. I think Chanel was more of a playmaker at UW than TJ Watt was and is the missing piece to a championship level defense for the Pack.

Shore up the OL and maybe a safety in rounds 3-5.

The Packers have lots of WRs. Enough to have one of the best offenses in the league. Unfortunately, 50% of X4 think this is fantasy football.

We have Lazard and Cobb that are decent. The rest are practice squad level guys. WR depth was an issue before 17 and 83 left. We do not have a legitimate #1 WR or TE either at least until Tonyan is back.

Schefter working as the mouthpiece for Ojabo's agent putting out there "he will be back in 6 months," as if it's fact. Lots of variables and that is best case scenario if the rehab goes perfect and the scar tissue develops as it should (vertically). 9 months is a more realistic goal. Maybe in 6 months they can put full load bearing back on it and train as such, but there will be a solid 6 months of atrophy. They will try to mitigate it, but if you cannot work the calf muscle at the same level, you won't maintain it. There WILL be atrophy...they will be able to minimize it a bit, but 6 months is just fantasy.

6 months? That is clown talk. Schefter is a fucking bozo. He won't play this season. PERIOD!

HAD!!!! Had lots of WR. We'll get more.

They are fairly routine…with two first rounders I’d seriously consider spending one on Ojabo if there. He’s only 21, and Nigerian!

If they pick a wideout in the first it’s evidence that Gute is really kissing up to AR12. Pick the best defenders or OTs you can find in the first and take the best WR or 2 you can get in the 2nd.

No problem taking OL or a defensive lineman high in the draft if we can get value - you win in the trenches.  Unfortunately we find ourselves in quite a predicament with no receivers worth a shit currently on the roster.  Not really much left in FA at this point either.  I’m no draft expert by any means, but it seems like the premiere receivers could be off the board by 22.  If that’s the case, I’d wait until the second round like you said.  But I’m hoping we can get an edge rusher and WR in the first since it seems like that’s where the depth of the draft lies.  No problem getting an OL or DL in the first round either if they’re BPA.  Or an edge rusher or ILB.

The only WR I'm looking at in R1 is Burks from Arkansas.  Lots of WR talent on day 2 though.

I'd love to get the fatty DL from Georgia in R1 too.

That does it for me....typically you are spot on.

I think #22 has to be a WR.  If they don't go WR, things could get out of control where you have to reach on one in the second and they need a WR that can play from day 1.  I had hopes they could sign Landry to a one year prove-it deal but I read he wants a pretty big deal.

I think Ojabo makes a ton of sense at #28 though.  Packers have their starters for 2022.  Ideally Ojabo is back in November and can get 10-12 pass rushing snaps each game and in 2023, we can have one hell of a pass rushing trio.

Interesting - I didn’t watch badgers doesn’t chenal project as an ilb?  Can he play olb or rush the passer?

Think the Packers absolutely consider this!! On Ojabo or any "risk" draftee.

To put things into perspective, let’s look at a study of National Football League players, who are no strangers to injuries of these kinds. In an analysis of return-to-sport rates of 95 NFL players after Achilles tendon repair, 71% were back in the game 339.8 days (+/- 84.8 days) after surgery. Yup, that’s about a year, and these players are young, with a mean age of 28. Even when they returned to the field, their career lengths were shorter by a year than those players who didn’t have Achilles tendon surgery.

Agreed.  And how many of them returned to 100%.  No thanks.

Yeah we are fucked. We cant even find a decent WR with this incompetent  FO. Do you really think  we will find more than one?? IF so, history is not on your side and we need at least 3. Logic would say we are fucked.

Yea, real incompetence. Remember last year at this time they were not able to find a linebacker worth anything. They really effed up the defense last year by not finding a lineback before the end of March. It sucks that they start the season in just a few weeks and havent got all positions settled. Total incompetence.
