With regard to Kincaid, just because he didn't block in college doesn't mean he can't. Andy Ludwig, Utah's OC, has been known to not bother his most athletic TE with blocking assignments. Kincaid was Utah's best target by a mile.
I am not willing to believe yet he's unable to be a good enough blocker if that is a requirement.
@Floridarob posted:Bijan Robinson. He is the best receiver in the draft and MLF can use him in teh slot this year while taking over for Jones next year.
I believe Jahmyr Gibbs is a better receiver.

Not saying he can't learn, but there's only so many/so much "on the job learning of basics most guys already know" teams want to deal with at the pro level.
Last year with Wyatt and Watson was also an anomoly, and Kincaid will likely be 24 before the Packers' bye week. Also why Keion White might get passed over since he'll be 25 before Felix Anudike-Ozumah turns 22 during the playoffs.
Tuli Tuipolotu won't be able to legally drink until the regular season.
@Goalline posted:Both Joe Thomas and Bahk had short arms. That metric is not everything.
Edit: I think I was wrong about Bahk. 34 inch arms.
Not saying it is, but Gutekunst, and many others, seem to hold it as an important metric.
I think the tackles also lean towards projected role.
We need a left tackle, no ifs, ands or buts: Patis Johnson, Anton Harrison
He'll line up at one of the tackle spots: Broderick Jones
We're pencilling him in at RT day 1, not worried if he can play the left side, but would be nice if he could: Darnell Wright
We have no idea where he'll play right away, but it will be one of the five: Skoronski

TE would be an extreme outlier on a 1st round pick for Gutey. Edge, CB, OT would be a more likely scenario I think based on position value and age.

I will take either a tackle or an edge in the first.
Supposedly, the buzz among some GM's is that this draft is not loaded with blue chip talent, and that there are only 13-16 players with round one grades.
I have no idea if this is a fair representation or not, but if so, the Packers are in a good spot to either draft one of the top tier players, or field offers from some team desperate for a top O-lineman or edge rusher, or perhaps the last of the top four QB's on the board.
I think it's the lack of top receivers that causes that feeling. If Smith-Njigba is #1, compared to last year, he's probably a second rounder behind Wilson, Olave, London, Williams, Dotson and Burks, more in line with Pierce, Watson, Pickens and Moore.
The talent at Safety in this draft is suspect, at best. IMO, the clear choice, for the Packers, if they want the best Safety, is Brian Branch, at #15. He will be gone by the second round. I heard that in all of his playing days at Alabama, he only had three missed tackles. He's a tough nosed player, in a needed position. Everything depends on who, and where, Gute has people valued on his board and how eager he will be to move around the board, to get them.
Word out of 1265 is that Brian Branch is not on Gute's board because the organization is still "soured" on Alabama safetys because of an internet discussion board's butthurt over Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

Fine by me. Letâs move on to offense

all offense all the time in the draft. Who can trust Joe Barry even if Dion Sanders, Ronnie Lot, Ray Lewis, and Reggie White were on the team and in their prime? Packers are going to have to win on offense and special teams. Welcome to the Lynn Dickey Packers of the wonderful 80s.

The Lynn Dickey Packers were fun to watch! I'll take that in a 2nd!
Not mentioned as a top TE prospect with Dalton "Reuben" Kincaid, Michael "Oscar" Mayer and Darnell "Boom Boom" Washington...but I guy who hits all the markers on the RAS profile is Meechigan's Luke Schoonmaker...could be a nice get in R2 or R3 if one of the top guys falls to 15 and the Packers don't want to pass him up...

My good man. We could do well with that cast of defensive characters. Some, um, misfortune would happen to Joe. The evidence would get buried under endangered flowers that can't be dug up. Lott's pinky would magically be found among the flowers to satisfy the dogs, White would make sure Jesus forgave Lewi... whoever was involved, and Lott would teach Sanders how to tackle. I don't see any holes on this defense.

they were defintely a roller coaster and fun to watch but the ending was always a dud. Except the Monday night thriller against Washington...

After the crap we saw last year in half of the games, I'll take a few of those duds. The Dickey era Packers kept everyone on the edge of their seats all game long
NFL sent me my tickets to the draft in KC. Yay!!

Which jersey are you sporting for the event ?
I think something that celebrates Super Bowl I would be a great choice among the locals. Might even get you a cameo on TV.
35 - 10 is an ass-kicking worth celebrating
Gute has all options in round 1 - and I'd rank em as follows
Move back; sit tight; move up
My question is:
Are there any players the Packers like enough to move up and acquire ?
These are the only 3 I could see GB possibly chasing:
Tyree Wilson, Lukas Van Ness, Nolan Smith
The rest just don't seem worthy to chase for this Packers team
I know people donât want to set themselves up for disappointment, but @nfldraftscout was one of the first (maybe THE first?) to connect Love to the Packers just before the draft.

If heâs hearing JSN to GB buzz, thatâs real.
The Packers taking a 1st round WR the year they trade Rodgers would be priceless. BTW, JSN= WR Jaxon Smith Njigba
Bukowski is a massive JSN fanboy...others have pointed out exactly why his metrics don't fit with what the Packers need at WR. We will know in about 6 days.

I don't see us moving up for anyone prior to our 15th pick...much more likely we trade down, then back up, again later.

@D J posted:Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Has dominated at the college level but doesn't have any elite traits that translate to the pro game - athletically he's good not great
- Doesn't have any serious explosion to his game and may find it difficult to separate at the NFL level
- Has missed a major chunk of his junior year with a hamstring injury - will have to demonstrate this is the exception rather than the rule for him
- Has had a few more drops than you would hope for in a top wideout - mostly due to occasional lapses of concentration rather than anything more intrinsic
- Spent most of his college career playing in the slot - so it remains to be seen how he will stand up as an outside threat
Next task for you? Find the player in this draft with no weaknesses.
YAGoldie gave me a Thumbs down for Stetson, probably because of his love for Taysom.
Now post Davante's draft weaknesses.

Interesting take on the Packers intentions - based on visits and the round those visitors are likely to be drafted in
https://www.acmepackingcompany...d-safety-edge-rusher
" I want to say on the front end that it doesnât seem like the Packers are spending visits on players who would be in real contention to be selected with the 15th overall pick. Outside of Tennessee tackle Darnell Wright, I would be fairly surprised if Green Bay turned the 15th overall choice in the draft for one of these visits.
The remaining three âfirst-roundâ visitors are all tight ends who are expected to be taken in the 20s or 30s. Unfortunately, Green Bay doesnât own any selections in that range of the draft.
If youâre reading between the lines here, it seems like Green Bay is keeping its options open for either a trade down from 15 or a trade up from 45 with these visits. It seems like this is around the range where the team wants to draft a tight end. "
