I did this mock a couple of days ago... I don't really care about the grades from PFF. Taking the 19th ranked player at 25 generates a C+? Really? I did consistently "reach" for players because they're the ones I wanted, and I pretty much got everyone and position on my list. I also think DT Boyd and OT Foster will go higher than they are ranked. Jaylen Wright's a special talent, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a team draft him higher than expected. He's my #1 RB.

my 2 cents ...
I think Das Gute is drafting to fill these thneeds using (these) rounds

"...its not about filling needs !"

Only 2 starter jobs open and they're both non-premium positions; RG1 and SS1 That makes it easier to chase value next month

And some of these openings will be combined and covered by 1 player
( OG2/OC2) or ( CB3/slotCB2).

Offense:

QB3...  ( 5-UDFA)
RB3...  ( 2-4)
WR9... ( 5-UDFA )
TE5...   ( 5-UDFA )
LT2...   (1-3)
LG2... ( 2-4)
OC2... (2-5)
RG1... (1-4)
RT2... (2-4)

Defense:

DT4... (1-4)
DE4... (1-4)
ILB3, ILB4... (2-4)
CB3 ...(1-4)
SlotCB2... (2-4)
FS2 ...(2-4)
SS1, SS2... (1-3)

"Jaylen Wright's a special talent, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a team draft him higher than expected. He's my #1 RB."  I did a PFF 3 round mock and picked Wright with GB's 2nd Round pick at 41. I got an "F" for picking him there, even though Wright was the top player listed on their board, when pick 41 came around.

Been saying that before they cut him. Fresh legs with a better speed is my hope. And if they need to take that in round 1, so be it.

That Jaylen Wright 4.38 40 is something to nab, a game breaker.

Strong and Tracy fit the mold of 4th-6th round guys who have the right speed and agility combo that this scheme needs.

Also like Shipley out of Clemson...serious McCaffrey vibes. Gotta get a RB that has enough lateral speed to get where he needs, then put his foot in the ground, one cut and go north. That was what 33 did best...that is what Raheem Mostert and CMC do best...although 33 and CMC add extra value in the pass-catching game.

Haven't seen enough of Tracy and Strong yet to know they bring that. Shipley has done enough I've seen to make me think he could be a steal for the right team.

Yup...this will do! Packer guy...does a little bit of everything they need. Inside zone, outside zone, can catch the ball, respectable in pass protection. If he's there in R5-R7 I think he has a good shot of being a Packer.

It's nice to want another Aaron Jones, but I want better. A guy who is a threat to take it to the house on any carry. Aim high.

Whom do you suggest we get and where in the draft, or FA, do you think we will find him? These guys(Guerendo, Strong and Tracy, Jr) are all 4th-6th round guys, IMO. I wouldn't mind any of them, in Green and Gold.

1, 19: Cooper DeJean, DB, Iowa

2, 41: Jaden Hicks, S, Washington State

2, 58: Kiran Amegadjie, OT, Yale

3, 88: Bucky Irving, RB, Oregon

4, 126: Tommy Eichenberg, LB, Ohio State

5, 169: Hunter Nourzad, OL, Penn State

6, 202: Myles Cole, EDGE, Texas Tech

6, 219: Matt Lee, C, Miami

7, 245: Sam Hartman, QB, Notre Dame

7, 255: Kalen DeLoach, LB, Florida State

Mock from Matt Schneidman  Link (paywall)

Harbaugh trading Herbert and drafting McCarthy sounds insane which is probably what will happen as very little Harbaugh does is conventional.

As for GB, if the michiganjoe mock is correct I’d be pretty happy with it.   Need to address DB and OL in this draft and get another RB.

Apparently, I'm reading the "Harbaugh" comment above incorrectly. Because I'm not seeing any mention of Harbaugh drafting McCarthy.  I read it as he's been selling McCarthy in hopes QBs are drafted 1 thru 4. making Harrison available for the Chargers at 5. Not that he wants to draft McCarthy.

It's not going to happen.

If you didn't have to worry about absorbing dead cap charges in a trade, it might make some sense if you were really sold on McCarthy. Herbert's contact is very good this year in terms of cap hit (20 million), but it steadily rises over the next few years (37, 46, 58, and 71 million).

McCarthy would have cap hits of under 10 million dollars for the next 4 years and you'd get maybe one of the biggest haul of draft picks and players in NFL history for Herbert.

What makes it impossible is that the dead cap hit for trading Herbert this year would be 130 million.

I really think he's going to restock the O-Line....

I can see a plug n play OG like Barton early, a developmental OT in 2nd -3rd followed by a versatile IOL like Bortolini after that. IF they don't believe Walker is gonna make the next leap, then an OT in the 1st seems more likely.

Also, the gap between pick 58 and 88 seems like an eternity...might have to package some picks and move up in round 3.

Top 30 visits to Titletown-
kinda interesting that some of them are in pairs at a particular position

Top 30 Visits:
 OL Zak Zinter - Michigan

CB Jarrian Jones (FSU) CB Ja'Quan Sheppard (Maryland)

LB Edgerrin Cooper (Texas A&M) LB Trevin Wallace (Kentucky)

DL Michael Hall (Ohio State) DT Khristian Boyd (UNI)

A few posts above yours is my answer, Jaylen Wright. Why are so many afraid to take the best RB in the draft early?

Now maybe someone will grab him early? But if he's there at 25, I'd take him.

Jets want to move down and pick up a 2nd. Packers offer then 25 and 58 for 10. Packers pick Quinyon Mitchell at 10 and S Cole Bishop at 41. Use both 3rds for offensive line help.

Stand pat and get better OL.

I like Wright, as well. He'd definitely look good in Green and Gold.
