Broncos fans never learn.....sports radio and the podcast I listen to are all pushing hard for Broncos to trade up to 4 to get whoever is left of the QBs. It's going to take at least their first and third in 2024, and first and second in 2025. That means that will have effectively traded 5 firsts and 4 seconds for Russell Wilson, Sean Payton, and the 4th best QB in this draft.  That is completely insane. At some point you have to stop swinging for the fences and just hit a few singles. But I'm still betting the Vikings get that 4th pick and take the 4th best QB.

My belief on QBs - the QBs that will succeed no matter their surroundings are extremely rare and are truly "generational" (Elway, Manning, and Luck in my lifetime). The opposite is true too - some QBs are going to suck no matter where they go (Jamarcus Russell and Paxton Lynch come to mind).  Every other QB's trajectory is heavily dependent on their surroundings - owner, coach, o-line, and weapons. Put Mahomes on the Jets and I'm not convinced he's an all-time great. Put Sam Darnold on the Chiefs and I don't think he'd be on his 4th team in 4 years. It's why the Jets, Commanders, Cardinals, Browns, Bears, etc. consistently struggle to find a QB. Are we to believe they always draft the wrong guy? No, they just suck at providing a young QB with the necessary tools and coaching and environment to develop. HOF QBs aren't drafted; they're developed.

Next yearโ€™s QB class doesnโ€™t look as good, but neither does digging your own grave, if youโ€™re the Broncos.

Bo nix seems to fit a Payton offense, otherwise take a mid-round swing at Rattler,  Pratt or even Milton and see if they have potential to be something with some development this year. If they look like โ€œnever will beโ€s, writing off a mid-round pick is easier than multiple, early future picks.

A thread about WR's. Interesting discussion

I think Nabees is going to be so much better than Harrison. They are both going to dominate, but Nabers gets elite separation, and Harrison doesnโ€™t.

Iโ€™ll admit, Bishop and Dadrian Taylor-Demerson are two of the guys Iโ€™d love to see in Green Bay, but It probably depends on what theyโ€™re looking for.

If they want a safety with the best slot cover skills to go with deep versatility, Gutekunst could prefer Javon Bullard, DT-D, Tykee Smith, Malik Mustapha or maybe Calen Bullock.

Bishop offers better size than all but Bullock, though, and tackles a lot better than Bullock.

Last thing we need is another safety who doesn't want to tackle. I hope Cole Bishop is the safety Gute picks to pair with McKinney

Hey also likely won't have anyone nearly as good as Peyton throwing to him. If Harrison goes to Murray, Nabers goes to Daniel Jones and whatever, and Odunze goes to Herbert, I'd put my money on Odunze even with Harbaugh trying to fuck it up.

Harrison was a bad ass even before Peyton showed up. Ironically, I seems to remember him being a problem even with Harbaugh as his QB. I remember the defending champs in โ€˜97 having problems dealing with him. They got upset by the 1-10 Colts.
