DD I think the diseased beggar is a good fit... diseased 'scumbag' begger even better.

And I never get tired of watching your avatar every time I see it. Smiler

I've been on the Internet for a long time (I was in forums before there was even an Internet) and I've seen cases worse than this. I mean, I've seen people hire lawyers to go after each other. But I've never seen anyone be able to pull off a hoax for as long or so it as well as this person did.

That was kind of what I meant. I've seen sock puppets before too, but if I'm reading this thread right, this is multiple personas over a period of 4 or 5 years. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but it just seems odd to me that someone - even a really unbalanced someone - would just pick out a little neighborhood sports bar to infest like that. It reminds me of that Steve Martin movie, "The Jerk" - where that guy just picks Martin at random out of the phone book and decides to plague him. Or am I thinking of a different movie? Anyway, it's a weird state of affairs to be sure.

He/she didn't do it that well. Several posters were not fooled by "Old Sarge".

Some folks seem to believe that they're so much smarter than everybody else, all they have to do is call themselves a new name, repeatedly deny association with the old name, and the rest of the stupid peons will believe whatever they're told.

As the Messageboard Turns... a new Internet soap opera...

Maybe we should hook up Old Sarge/DD/Peek/Jake with Packbeback1/Packbeback01/Packbeback2/Packbeback3. Think of the money they could save on food and beer for their tailgating party.

I'd like to see that. But who could give him any credit for anything he said?

While I'm thinking of it, I remember when Jake became Old Sarge. He flat out stated he was the same person, he had to change accounts because of some kind of computer problem. So I don't see how anyone can claim they "knew," al least for a long time.

I haven't been around much the last 6 months to catch all the little things, I've probably seen 3 posts total from Lazurus. When I was here way too much I knew a lot of what was going on, you see all the posts before they get deleted or edited. I know I need a life but some people here are plain nuts. Amazing how Scoop gives everyone more chances than they deserve.

I really am in awe that this person could create completely separate characters and keep their "lives" straight with ongoing events. If I could create fiction like that I'd be rich, selling paperback novels. What a waste of good, solid talent.

I exchanged a couple PMs with Sarge once, given that, I take this person to be someone who feels very strongly about specific issues and had a hard time with people who couldn't at least consider an alternative viewpoint other than their own. Now, for all the good he thought he was trying to do, all discredited. What a waste of good, solid talent.
I once thought I might be ammo, but then I met him at Culvers in Mauston, so now I know that I am not ammo, and I just found out this past Saturday that I'm not Country Bumpkin either. Oh, to have an identity cry

Really? I thought for sure I remember Jake dying. Didn't Peekaboo come in to tell us that? That's why, when "Old Sarge" died, the reference was made in the thread to having lost two brothers.

I think that was the problem. He didn't do a very good job of keeping their lives straight. He goofed up several times.
On a more serious note, this person clearly needed attention and apparently, sympathy. It's hard to feel anger for a situation so sad - even though we all feel duped over the Sarge is Dead thread.

You remember right, but when Peekaboo came in to tell us, just remember, she was really Sarge, who also is Jake, Old Sarge, Devil Dawg, and Javon Walker (who also thinks he might be Terrel Owens)

Jake died? I don't remember that. I thought it was odd that when he said he needed to switch accounts that he didn't keep the same avatar. That's why I remember, why change avatars if you're the same person? Well, with hindsight, we all would have paid attention more. He definitely blew it when he came up with Lazurus.

Johnny Z, as they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Now, I have no idea what the hell he was trying to achieve. Just because some disagreed with him doesn't mean he was incapable of making a fool out of those people. He did a mighty fine job of that in some cases.
DISGUSTED, BETRAYED, STUPID.

That just about sums up my feelings. jake, peekaboo, sarge and old sarge are the cause of the first two feelings.

I take full responsibility for having been so stupid. Makes me wonder about trusting anyone on the internet.

Hauser, was that really you that I watch lacrosse games with, or was it actually someone else?

I figure the pretty lady with you was not your wife, just some actress you hire for the day. She is too pretty for you. Big Grin Wink

That was me Old Navy, but I'm not sure about that woman. She sometimes comes up to me and prurs like a kitten. I'm having second thoughts, and have even pictured her as catts on occasion!!!

I'm sure some people over the years have hired actresses to accompany them somewhere where an "effect" was thought to be important.

I'm not really Benzene. I am actually Methyl Ethyl Ketone. I am sorry I have kept this up for so long.

If you went on a diet and lost a little hydrogen, you could be toluene.

you shouldnt feel stupid..all you can really do is judge someone for what they "tell" you on a web forum .. anybody can be anyone at anytime anywhere on the web.. i have always found it very difficult to trust anyone i cant see or hear.. the internet can really be a false sense of reality..

As for the question of it being against the law to pose as someone in the military it is not.

It is against the law to wear the uniform of any of the services if not in the service and it trying to represent one's self as being a member of the Armed Forces.

It is also a violation of the UCMJ for any member of the military to wear and medals, ribbons, or other decorations which they have not been awarded and entered into their service record.

I saw a few weeks back wear that clown that was running around Milwaukee posing as a highly decorated UMCS major and vietnam vet was given a fine and a very short probation. They should have had him cleaning bed pans at the VA hospital for a year.
