Second-round draft pick Davante Adams and third-round pick Khyri Thornton are expected to miss the opening week of organized team activities, but the Green Bay Packers duo has a good reason.

They were among 40 rookies selected to participate in the 20th annual NFLPA Rookie Premier, a three-day seminar in Los Angeles where players will learn the business of football.

The May 29-31 event is put on by NFLPI, the marketing and licensing branch of the players association. espn.com

Can't say I'm happy about that.  Bet MM isn't too pleased either.

We saw how many flaws Rodgers covered last year. We've seen how many flaws Collins covered the past 3 years. Hawk being one of them.

Id be fine if Capers, Collins, Perry and Clinton Dix spent a day together watching film so Collins could school the kid on Capers D and what he learned to do over time. Their's still enough similarity between this D and Nicks D to impart a little wisdom.

And they are talking about moving the draft back even further next year.

Makes perfect sense.  Why teach the draft picks to play the game when you can teach them how to market it.

Micah Hyde lining up next to Morgan Burnett with the Packers first-team defense. Coaches making Clinton-Dix earn it.

Jordy Nelson nice sideline grab...though Clinton Dix could've laid him out in game situation

Colt Lyerla makes his first play in practice. A high, difficult outstretched grab over the middle. Loud cheers from the crowd here.

Sean Richardson with a nice break on the ball for a deflection in 7 on 7. They'll want to see him work in space this summer

Packers OTA roll call  -  Not here: Davante Adams, Khyri Thornton, Jerel Worthy. Adams and Thornton at the NFLPA rookie premier. Here but not practicing: Johnathan Franklin, Clay Matthews, Nick Perry, Andrew Quarless, Brandon Bostick.

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' A.J. Hawk always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Hawk?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

McCarthy on Lyerla. Team "is excited about helping this young man."

. . . on Julius Peppers: "Looks very natural at the outside linebacker position."

. . . on Hyde: He's a young man that can be a four-down football player for us.

. . . on Tretter: JC's doing a really good job. Think he's been here every single day since the season's ended. That's shown.

Peppers is going to make our entire defense WAAAYYYYYY better. Guys like Perry, Worthy & Daniels becoming stars. Clay will have a HOF type season. Raji will look like 2010 Raji. I expect to see a lot of forced turnovers this season. Even Hawk will look better. Peppers is exactly what this defense needed in the front 7.

What wasn't shown (thankfully) was two seconds later Bulaga French-kissed Sitton.

Once it happens once, there's no stopping it.

Rubicon crossed.

GOMA PYLE

couldn't find pic of other arm and then, of all places, wikipedia says:
Bulaga had one small Polish word tattooed on each arm (siła "strength", and pycha "pride").

Well, neither has Clay. I'll take another 7-sack year out of Pep if it makes life easier and more productive for the guys around him.
