May 27 1:45 PM ETSecond-round draft pick Davante Adams and third-round pick Khyri Thornton are expected to miss the opening week of organized team activities, but the Green Bay Packers duo has a good reason.
They were among 40 rookies selected to participate in the 20th annual NFLPA Rookie Premier, a three-day seminar in Los Angeles where players will learn the business of football.

AJ Hawk....Available & Accountable.
Great job AJ!
We saw how many flaws Rodgers covered last year. We've seen how many flaws Collins covered the past 3 years. Hawk being one of them.
Id be fine if Capers, Collins, Perry and Clinton Dix spent a day together watching film so Collins could school the kid on Capers D and what he learned to do over time. Their's still enough similarity between this D and Nicks D to impart a little wisdom.

And they are talking about moving the draft back even further next year.
Makes perfect sense. Why teach the draft picks to play the game when you can teach them how to market it.
Keeps two guys off the IR list for a few days. Might be the first class Thornton has seen in years. Glass half full.
And I bet AJ wondered who put a banana in the tailpipe hoping he'd die a horrible death.
AJ's demise was foretold in this scene, for those who are clever enough to see it
Rodgers has their attention.
Packers OTA roll call - Not here: Davante Adams, Khyri Thornton, Jerel Worthy. Adams and Thornton at the NFLPA rookie premier. Here but not practicing: Johnathan Franklin, Clay Matthews, Nick Perry, Andrew Quarless, Brandon Bostick.

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' A.J. Hawk always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Hawk?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
McCarthy on Lyerla. Team "is excited about helping this young man."
. . . on Julius Peppers: "Looks very natural at the outside linebacker position."
. . . on Hyde: He's a young man that can be a four-down football player for us.
. . . on Tretter: JC's doing a really good job. Think he's been here every single day since the season's ended. That's shown.

I always thought he looked like Curly.
From the Three Stooges. Funny. Slapstick, even.
Ya gotta like a successful stretch as a portent of the season.....
Hair styles haven't changed much since the '30's.
Peppers on Matthews: "A really dominant player on the other side, I really haven't had that, ever."
Man Bulaga has short arms
What wasn't shown (thankfully) was two seconds later Bulaga French-kissed Sitton.
Once it happens once, there's no stopping it.
Rubicon crossed.
Looks like they have the same barber
Blue Angels flew right over my house yesterday... Glad Hawk didn't puke on us.
Eight seconds later.....you heard a sonic boom.
Sonic ping.
Bakhtiari has added some bulk...good news.
Guess Bulaga's arm tattoos:
WHAT A PYLE
ANACONDA PYTHONS
I SHAT A PYRAMID
HOW MANY CARBON ATOMS DOES A PYRANOSE HAVE
SILA PYCHA
A PY
GOMA PYLE
couldn't find pic of other arm and then, of all places, wikipedia says:
Bulaga had one small Polish word tattooed on each arm (siła "strength", and pycha "pride").
Peppers on Matthews: "A really dominant player on the other side, I really haven't had that, ever."
Well, neither has Clay. I'll take another 7-sack year out of Pep if it makes life easier and more productive for the guys around him.
Is Peppers standing on Worthy? Nick Perry is 6'3".
Eddie Lacy on off-season: "Just relax and wait for my body to stop hurting." How long did that take? "It took a long time. Longer than college"
