(Injured receiver) Randall Cobbβs workout today was very good. Weβll see how he is tomorrow and Wednesday weβll set the play.
Awesome!!!
I watched the entire game. No icing cookies during a Packers game.
That's right up there with THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!!!
@Shoeless
MT @EdBouchette: #Steelers Mike Tomlin on injuries: DE Brett Keisel improving, will practice this week. LB LaMarr Woodley out with calf.

Lacy gonna want to show the Steelers what they are missing out on
If GB wins the North, it'd get a home game with Seattle next year. Just, you know, throwing that out there.
Anybody see the hit on the Bengals punter in the game vs the Steelers? Blind-sided, uncalled for hit. Poor guy is still looking for his teeth. I cringed at the thought of Rodgers coming back in this game. This is the way they play. Hope we can keep them a little more off-balance.
" uncalled for hit"
Looked like he was about to get on the tackle to me. Such is football.
"Keep your head on a pivot and your ass wont make a divot" - me?
RODGERS: βLast week, I felt more like myself. I knew I was closer (to playing). Weβre sitting here with another 4-5 days of rest.β
RODGERS: This is just how you have to go about the process. The organization is going to do whatβs best by me."
RODGERS: βMy hope is that I practice tomorrow and experience no setbacks, mentally or physically, and weβll go from there.β
RODGERS: βSadness and frustration, but not anger.β (on emotions last week when told he couldnβt play).
RODGERS: βDoc (McKenzie) and I have had a close and honest relationship. He trusts me and how Iβm feeling and I have to trust him.β
RODGERS: βNobody is 100 percent at this point of the season.β
RODGERS: βI would worry a little more about conditioning (than rust)."
RODGERS: βWeβre a team. As a team and as a leader, you need to lead by example and set the tone."
RODGERS: "I was back out there with my scout team walkthrough guysβ¦ trying to make that a good experience. Try to bring same energy.β
RODGERS: This is just how you have to go about the process. The organization is going to do whatβs best by me."
Uh...Mike Vandermause knows better.
One good thing of Rodgers not starting but still getting some reps with the scout team is that he is giving our #1 D a good QB to practice against. I'm sure he's making the DBs and LBs work when he throws the ball. It's better experience then they would get with Tolzien in there.
One thing I can say about listening to Rodgers...
He was in a VERY good mood. Probably the most upbeat I have heard him a long, long time.

Actually most sources show them playing the NFC West opponent on the road next year but Seattle does play in GB in 2015.

Douche move by the Steelers. Period. No need to **** a punter up like that when a simple block does the job. Just another case of some dumb**** trying to make a highlight reel.

Obviously he was in the field of play and in the mix. By "uncalled for", I was referring to leading with the crown of his helmet and planting in the guys facemask. If this happened to a Packer (oh wait, it did, remember Clifton?) there would be howling for weeks to come.

I noticed that as well... and we aren't the only ones.
respect for Boris. Rant not needed.
New addition to the Bush/ Packer family Sellenna Sophie Lee Bush .. 8 pounds 2ounces ! 20.5 inches. #packernation#familytime
The Bengals punter was a lot closer to the action than Chad Clifton when Warran Sapp de-spined him. I don't remember any outrage (other than from Packer fans). Must be the new NFL focus on player safety.
Yes, that's the point. Some think it's great football action unless it happens to a Packer. You can parse my words as much as you like, but it was a brutal hit that didn't have to be, and this is how the Steelers play the game. Wouldn't be surprised if he was rewarded for blowing up the punter.
Bad block - Fracturing a guys neck and shoving his jaw into his ear hole because you have zero regard for another players well being. That's a LB that could have simply put a clean block on a punter and accomplished the same thing. Punter could have walked off the field. Return still would have gone for a TD. Steeler LB would have helped spring him.
That block wasn't intensity. It was stupidity.
He leads with his head. Right before the hit lowers his head so the crown hits the other helmet. How, in 2013, is that a legal hit? I'll be surprised if he isn't fined.
a hit like that on the punter is like picking on the 2nd graders when you are in 5th grade.
So you've been told.

Oh really?! This again? The exact same thing was said about his "demeanor" before the thanksgiving game.

respect for Boris. Rant not needed. Happy holidays !
Whenever a sentence begins with "There was once a time" you know whatever follows is going to be stupid.
Sorta like, "Not to be a dick" or "I'm really not a racist, BUT"...
I do agree with the roids point, though. So there's that. Not to be a dick.
No offense. That's another of my favorites. Say something horribly offensive but as long as you disclaim it with that, you're good.

, the above not needed either.

Are the Steelers mathematically eliminated from the playoffs now?
Here's what Yahoo Sports says for the Steelers:
Would clinch a playoff berth with two wins and two Dolphins losses and two Ravens losses and a Chargers loss and a Jets win vs. the Browns.
Dolphins/Bills and Jets/Browns are early games. So I'll be rooting for Miami and Cleveland. Let's get Pittsburgh eliminated before they play the Packers.
NFL confirms flag should have been thrown on block that injured Kevin Huber
Mike Florio explained earlier on Tuesday that Steelers linebacker Terence Garvin should have been penalized for the helmet-to-helmet block that ended Bengals punter Kevin Huberβs season even though Huber was trying to make a tackle on the play.
Now NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino has confirmed it. During an appearance on NFL Network on Tuesday, Blandino said that Huber was considered a defenseless player on the play under the leagueβs rules and that the NFL wants to βflag hits like thatβ with 15-yard personal fouls.
βHuber, heβs a punter. And the key is heβs defenseless throughout the down,β Blandino said. βSo even though heβs pursing the play, he still gets defenseless-player protection. You canβt hit him in the head or neck, and you canβt use the crown or forehead parts of the helmet to the body.β
Around the Internet for Steelers Week:
Local Paper:
Pittsburgh Press Gazette Steeelers Blog
Twitter:
Ed's been covering the Steelers since 1985. If you want one guy for a quick synopsis of what's up in Steeler land, he's the guy. The equivalent of Tom Silverstein for jsonline.
David Todd Podcast (970 ESPN Pittsburgh):
David Todd's podcast segments on the Steelers are the equivalent to a Paul Imig, Tyler Dunne, or Wes Hodkiewicz interview. No Jason Wilde style snarky, self-centered banter and no Sparky sensationalism. There's absolutely no homerness or schtick to his show; just insightful, honest football conversation broken down into 10-15 minute segments.
I started keeping up with the Steelers this August since they essentially run the same defense as us and are also in the middle of a rebuild. That provided a ton of opportunity for Todd to investigate how the Steelers try to develop young defenders and he had a bunch of segments with the Steelers position coaches.
I have a ton of respect for Tomlin and Lebeau and it was interesting to contrast how the Steelers operate their practices and balance full-contact with limiting injury as opposed to how the Packers do things.
David Todd's shows with former NFL scout Matt Williamson where they go around the NFL are quite enjoyable, Matt has a level headed approach to assessing players.
