Surprisingly enough, you are rong .

Flynn wasn't awesome, as noted in this excellent in-depth article from Football Outsiders about the Packers-Cowboys game

See if you can take it up a notch, its crunch time in the NFL and we're going to need more than an average/ mediocre effort from you around here. IT IS TIME

"what I enjoy most about the show is she's apolitical and just lays out the facts of each case."

Yes, her and Maddow are completely apolitical.  They probably get together on Saturdays to discuss cookie recipes.

I can't get over the fact that someone intelligent enough to use the word apolitical actually beliefs this.

Couple of quick questions from the Begoggled Homer:

1) Do average or mediocre teams author the greatest road comeback in the 90 year history of the franchise ?

2) Are we allowed to look at the wins when assessing the Packers relative merits or do only the losses count when making those assessments ?

Thanks in advance for your thoughtful response DH, appreciate your insight

I'm not certain, but I think No 4 is somewhat above average, correct ?

I get so confused at the difference between facts and opinions sometimes

Is this ranking a fact or an opinion ?

I was told the Packers are mediocre without Rodgers, yet here they are at number 4.... without Rodgers.

The No 4 ranking includes the yards compiled in the 7 games AR played in.

It does not say they are No 4 without AR.

How does this compare to Points - the only Offensive category that matters.

1. Team of Destiny... hey, isn't that the name of ARs gf?

2. You can look at the wins as long as they don't skew the view, or screw the view.

Right now the Packers have won 2 in a row. Making it to 3 in a row is what matters. Don't really care how it happens or who contributes.

You're welcome, Alfred.  Your "No.4 does not equal mediocre!" post implied a lack of balance on your part.  I was just equaling out the equation.  If you don't want the obvious shoved in your face maybe you need to be less careless.  But I guess your argument is to prove to everybody this team is better than 7-6-1?   I really enjoy most of your posts but that one was a doozy.

Rong.

The only stats that matter are ones that support pre-existing opinions.

Never mind the fact the team is 2-4-1 vs some pretty poor teams since AR went down.

I don't know how anyone could could consider 2-4-1 average or mediocre....I mean obviously it is a terrific record because the Packers are the greatest team eveh!!!!!!

To say the only stat that matters is W & L is pretty myopic, but we could sure save a lot of bandwidth.

"Did the Pack win?"

"Yup."

"Ok."

The next most active thread would be "Fedya's movies to Tivo"

Got it and to be perfectly honest DH, most of that was an inside joke/jest

You can shove whatever comments you like in my face; just have some facts and maybe a little context to back it up. I don't think that's an unreasonable request and you're certainly welcome to sort things anyway you like.

I'll try not to annoy you with "favorable" packer posts and facts going forward.

I imagine it gets quite tiresome reading pro packer posts on a Packers message board

My bad, won't happen again

Now you're just being a putz by labeling me as some kind of negative Nellie, which is annoying.  And careless, again, on your part.  I am as impressed as the next guy with what this team has done the last couple weeks but I'm not going to be delusional about how good they currently are.  Will AR's return (if we see it this year) flip the table and make the D good enough for the team to have a shot in the playoffs?  Maybe.  But as they stand they're 7-6-1 eereegardless of their O rank.

I'm not labeling anybody and I've always enjoyed your work here as noted in my post above.

Do whatever you like, post whatever you like. That's what this place is all about

Just remember this:

Found on the internet:

  • Rodgers practiced well today. Will have a conversation tomorrow about him.  Looked very good at practice. Not cleared to play.
  • (Since last week Rodgers advancement) He looked sharp. He looks better this  week. He looks ready to play.

The combined record of the teams we have played without Rodgers is 43-54 (at the end of week 15). What's the combined record of the teams we played with Rodgers? 45-52. Rodgers went 5-2 against a poor schedule, Flynn/Tolzien went 2-4-1 against an equally poor schedule. Color me shocked!

I can't get over the fact that someone intelligent enough to use the word apolitical actually beliefs this.

wow!  really?  I try not to be intolerant of others "beliefs"...but I question where some of you get your information....hopefully not from the Alphabet Networks....I try to watch shows that at least shows both points of view and are truly the watchdog for our nation...

I'm guessing some of you watch ESPN, too....really?

More inside jokes kind sir and it wasn't fair to drag you in without knowing the comedy behind it. Love the Satan comment; very existential

Go Packers

Interesting analysis. I think the biggest factor was McCarthy giving plays that match the skills of Flynn. Flynn seems to be getting better the more he plays and practices. This could be why McCarthy is making the decision today.
