I have to go go Maui for my work sometime in the next couple of months.  I have never been there so I do sort of look forward to it.  I will tough it out but I think I will stay away from whatever  Ohno is.

I actually have good things to say about Ohno.  It’s fish with a texture like chicken and was very good.  I just happened to eat some that maybe wasn’t cooked enough or sat in the sun too long and got some minor food poisoning out of it.

I keep hearing that Rodgers wants an Adams deal done before he commits to coming back but how can the Packers sign Adams if Rodgers doesn't rework his deal and thus commit to come back?  Someone has to be the first domino.

Man this team is going to be a wreck once cap hell arrives.  Look at the Saints cap situation right now because the Packers are doing exactly what the Saints did the last few years.  The Saints actually can't get under the cap this year by just releasing players due to the dead cap hits.  By constantly restructuring to free up cap space for the Brees years, the only way to get under the cap this year is to restructure more contracts.  That just extends their cap issues into next year and they don't even have a QB.  Gonna be interesting to follow because like I said, this'll be us in a few years.

Tom Clements worked wonders with 12, but could you also make a case that he could help 10 as well?   I guess I don’t see that move as some slam dunk that he’s set to return.

As for the notion he’s waiting to see what Adams may do, well, it could go either way.  If I’m Adams, not sure I’m interested in staying in GB if 12 isn’t there.  If I’m the team, I’m not sure I sign Adams to a record breaking deal without 12.

It all starts and stops with Rodgers.

I guess what I don’t understand is if he were set to return why not announce it already?

Heard Florio on Dan Patrick driving in today. While Florio can be full of it much of the time, he had a good point about Rodgers. Florio thinks he's going back to Green Bay and they are negotiating the contract. He thinks Rodgers isn't going to announce anything until the contract is finalized because he loses leverage once he says he's coming back and other teams move on to Plan Bs.

The other thing Florio was pushing today is Brady to the Niners. He thinks its already in the works and that it will come down to whether the Bucs let him leave.

Yes, despite an almost PERFECT job on D (till that last drive)

If Jaire Alexander isn't on the field for that last drive, the Niners likely have 4th and 7 at the 38 with 1 minute left and an interesting decision on whether to try a 55 yard FG or go for it. Instead, he whiffs on the tackle to avoid hitting him with his injured right shoulder (see screen captures below) and the play ruptures for another 9 yards and a first down. You really have to go out of your way not to hit Samuel with your right shoulder based on where Alexander was positioned. Yet another poor decision by the Packers coaching staff on which injured guys to bring back to play and which guys to sit.

The problem was Barry had his "pass" package in. Not only did Alexander whiff on the tackle, but Z Smith was lined up as an interior pass rusher and offered no resistance on that run. Problem was not having these guys suit up , it was having them on the field having to defend the run. IDK about everyone else, but did anyone (other than Barry) really think SF was going to let Jimmy G pass the ball there? Now perhaps if we had come out with our "run" defense they would have passed?

I’d play Jaire with one arm and one ball over most of our other corners. The other guys would miss that tackle too.

Bill Micheals reported the same thing on his radio show today.  He got the info from a guy he really trusts he said.   Micheals' guy did not get it from Rodgers directly but from those representing Rodgers.

He also said no team has won a Super Bowl in the cap era with any player taking up more than 13.9% of the cap.  So while the $50 million would not be the cap number for next season it would certainly be more than 13.9%.   But he also said Rodgers may think he is the guy who would do just that.

This is technically true but the Rams just won a SB with Stafford and Goff using up $45 million of their cap in 2021.

Niners without a 1st Rounder this year and next.  What do they have to trade to TB for the rights to Brady??

Supposedly the Brady camp is floating the idea that the Bucs "owe" him for brining them a Super Bowl title and they should just let him do what he wants. I've read this from other sources other than Florio, so there is probably some fire with that much smoke.

You could tell Arians was sick of it this week to when someone asked him what it would take for them to allow Brady to play for someone else he said 5 first-round draft picks.

So much for the "Brady always does what's best for the team." Brady does what's best for Brady and his brand. He got his money which is why he is going to cost the Bucs 15 million in dead cap this year and 9 million in dead cap in 2023.
