Let King walk. As for the 13.9% I get what you are saying, but Micheals did say player, not position.
@PackerHawk posted:I don't think that's right. Everything I've seen shows guys with voided years as free agents. Kevin King for example. I think he had two voided years on his one year deal but he's a free agent later this month.
Speaking of King, per Ken Ingillis, it actually saves GB 1 mil on the cap to bring Kevin King back vs releasing him.
So do not be surprised to see King back. Thinking in the most "glass is half full" optimism as you can, King does not shy from tackling and could be a decent ST's veteran. Maybe a poor mans Jarrett Bush.
And if he's mainly regulated to ST's, maybe he can last more then 8 games.
Sigh, ya, I am probably dreaming...
@PackerHawk posted:This is technically true but the Rams just won a SB with Stafford and Goff using up $45 million of their cap in 2021.
Best case scenario for GB is to trade Rodgers for multiple draft picks and move on.
The only way I'd bring him back is if he committed to 2-3 more years.

Sure, but how big is their junk? If they got tiny junk they probably lack confidence and wonât be able to lead.
With all eyes on #Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and his future, here is the latest: Sources say Rodgers is truly torn on where he wants to play in 2022. While many in the NFL expect him to return â there's lots of positivity in Green Bay â he is going back and forth on what he wants.
â Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 5, 2022
Some calling him Aaron Favre and that sounds about right. Maximize compensation and move on.
Well I mean if Sources say. I got to trust Sources. When have Sources been wrong about something? You got Sources and you post to Twitter, you're trustworthy af.

Reporting at its finest!
âReportedly is tornâ, âPer a source with knowledge of the situationâ, âThe destinations are believedâ, âOther viable possibilities are, weâre toldâ, âThus, as we understand it,ââĶ
Its no wonder people donât trust the media.

Agree, but I'd demand 3 years minimum. If they are going to go "all-in" and extend him and others to do so, then push the reset out as far as possible to maximize the return on the extended deals. Of course, that assumes the key players continue at a high level/stay healthy, but that's an unknown every season.

Agreed completely. Send that MFer packing, get some picks and restock.
PFT is all over the latest Rodgers news. Shocking.
For the love of God Packers, just move on. Itâs been a very exhausting, tiring act with KAaron. The never ending ego strokes required to kiss his ass daily to beg him to come back makes the FO appear like they are in an abusive relationship they just canât quit. Life will go on after Rodgers. Just like it did with Brett.
Get the best package of picks you can for him. Reload and be done with this shit
I am sensing that many of us are taking this personally. Itâs just Football and entertainment. I am a Fan. I still love and enjoy the Packers but itâs not real news. People are dying in a real war. Football is a nice distraction but Itâs only entertainment. Rodgers is a person. I donât know him. He plays football and is good at it. He says and does things that I like and some that I donât. I try to not get sucked up in tabloid crap.
I would say he is conflicted. And he should be.
A lot of this is due to how heâs handling this situation.

Personally? Not at all... For me it's about commodity. 12 has value and lots of it. He's also near the end of his career. It's pretty clear GB isn't winning the championship WITH him... Couple that with potential cap issues in the future, the smart move is to trade 12 now while he still has value. Get the draft picks, restock, fix the cap and build a strong team moving forward.
The fact that 12 is a douchebag has nothing to do with my opinion on the matter.

There are four outcomes to this ranked int his order in terms of winning a Super Bowl eventually. Options 1 and 2 both have are mostly overall positive. Option 3 is a push. Option 4 is a disaster.
1. The Packers keep Rodgers for the next two years. If he's healthy, they almost are certain to make the playoffs and have as good a chance as anyone in the NFC to make a Super Bowl.
2. The Packers trade Rodgers for a haul (4 high draft picks and a couple of good players). They struggle at the QB position for the next 2 seasons, but are set up to be at least a playoff team once they develop Love into a competent QB or otherwise get a league average QB. They don't crater.
3. Rodgers comes back for one year and then leaves in free agency in 2023. The Packers get one more shot, but then will tank in 2023.
4. Rodgers retires. They next two years are cap hell without any realistic chance of winning or setting up for the future (aside from a chance for a top 5 pick for winning 3-5 games).

Andrew Brandt had a good take on this - Rodgers can opt out next year and be an unrestricted free agent in 2023. Unsure if he could be tagged with the opt out but with his 2022 cap hit, the 2023 tag would cost like $55m in 2023 so that's unlikely. Which begs the question.....why would Rodgers sign long-term now when he can be an unrestricted free agent next year? That leaves his options open to go to a new team of his choosing without that team sacrificing assets, or come back to Green Bay at a higher price tag (UFAs just get more than when they extend, just ask Kirk Cousins). Plus, Rodgers would be center of the world if he was a UFA which he kind of likes.
If he does come back, he'll just add voidable years and still be a UFA in 2023. So, probably just time to trade him. It's hard to win a Super Bowl. It's even harder with a QB who has one foot out the door, no matter how talented that QB is.
Of course Tuesday. So McAfee can have Rodgers on his show and get those clicks.
Today Packers LT David Bakhtiari is getting married in California. Aaron Rodgers is set to officiate it. Matt LaFleur will be there. Rodgers is likely to tell the Packers what he wants to do by Tuesday afternoon. Timing is kinda wild.

Rev. Aaron?
I can't wait for the sermon about Asians being good at building technology.
Wonder if Bacteria will have to get his knee drained before the honeymoon?
Masks required?

If AR maneuvers for a trade, he's flipping off Packers fan.
I think the FO has played this quite well.
