Zimmer was under INTENSE pressure from Zygi and the fan base. Like all of our rivals, beating the Packers is Job 1. And while Zimmer had some success vs GB, the Packers were still the top team in the north.
That didn't sit well in minny

Zimmer got them to the NFC CG, they had just opened their new palace...a home Super Bowl was theirs for the taking...and they shit the bed in Philly.
That didn't sit well in minny

Then Rodgers appeared to be on a descent, MM got fired and a boy-faced rookie MLF was taking over. That was their next big chance to take the North.

And once again, they shat the bed- leading to this famous photo. Zimmer knew that his goose was cooked ( by the Packers) and he didn't handle it well. He turned into Captain Queeg and ruined any chance for that team to thrive.

Zimmer won't get another HC oppty and he's going to need some major image rehab to get the purple stink off him -

Right now, he probably needs a deep colon cleanse & some ayahuasca tea.

I think he's going to sit on his pile of money like Scrooge McDuck and enjoy his hot, younger girlfriend.

I like it, a lot, when things don't sit well, in minny!

All is well in the Queens part of the world again.

The D looks as old, slow, and untalented on the back end as advertised.

"Starting" CB Dantzler is already getting benched. The other starter at CB Patricck Peterson continues to look as slow as he did on play 1 against GB. New starter at safety Bynum gave up a long TD.

And Kirk, well Kirk is who he is (other than when teams inexplicably choose not to pressure him or his receivers) especially in prime time.

So glad that Minnesota chose ongoing mediocrity by going with a "competitive rebuild" this offseason by paying over the hill guys like Thielen and Harrison Smith as well as Kirk himself.

Skol!

Why did we lose to them then?

The Queens are MEDIOCRE, they are not PATHETIC like the Bears.

We lost to them because they were amped up playing at home in week 1 and we:

-inexplicably chose to not focus on covering their best player Jefferson;

-dropped a gimme TD on the first play of the game;

-did not feature our best offensive weapon Aaron Jones;

-chose to go with a starting right-side of the OL of Hanson/Newman; and

-otherwise treated game 1 like it was a pre-season contest.

That the Queens remain mediocre does not make the Pack a juggernaut who can just show up and win.

I doubt if they make it that far.   If they do it is only because they have a horseshoe shoved so far up their ass it's unretreivable.

Kirk did Kirk things yesterday too, like take a 15 yard sack on 2nd and goal from the 2.

What Kirk has is a WR that he can throw 50/50 balls too and have them turn into completions 90% of the time.

The Jefferson extension is going to make Davante's contract look cheap. Adams really got 3 years and 68 million guaranteed in real money (LV has an out after Year 3).

Jefferson is going to want Deshaun Watson type guarantees (not QB money, but 6-7 years of guaranteed top WR money).

I wasn't buying MIN earlier this year but I do now.  They're a pretty good team.  Hard argue against them having good odds to get to the 1 or 2 seed and to the NFCCG.  Right now I think PHI is still better and SF could be too in a head to head.  Yesterday was a bit flukey vs BUF but they did enough to be close enough to pull it out.  I don't know what was up with Allen going all Brett toward the end.
