Are there any chimpanzee's available to explain "how does that help the team exactly"?
@Dr._Bob posted:Special teams? I'm not sure why that's important.
I was kinda hoping someone would start a thread on it
Why? It would just turn into another Rodgers thread.
@Tschmack posted:If Rodgers wants to take a 50% pay cut like Brady or Stafford Iβm all ears. Until then, it means nothing.
Iβm so glad Rodgers did everything in his power w/his contract to free up money to pay others around him. Or not.
12 has made a shit load of money. Good for him. Heβs all about the team and winning.
I don't know how many times or by how many people this has to be pointed out, but BRADY NEVER TOOK A FUCKING PAY CUT! Teams kicked cap down the road, but Brady always made more real-world money in the deal. Heck, he made about $4 million more that Rodgers in 2020, but the bitchers came out of the woodwork again in 2021.
You want to mention two home playoff games in a row? Two home playoff games against playoff teams with shit offensive tackle alignments. Billy Turner at Left Tackle is a liability against playoff teams, period, and the RT struggled both times, as well. It's much harder to mask your deficiencies in the playoffs, and they usually get exposed even when you've skated by for a while.
Brady's O-line was banged up this year, and they got boat raced until the Rams got stupid. Jason Pierre-Paul in his face didn't help him in the Giants' Super Bowls either. Cam was playing well until they faced a Broncos team with a truly great pass rush.
Bahktiari never really coming back and Jenkins going down got exposed in the playoffs. Maybe Nijman continues to develop or Van Lanen turns into that guy, but the OT position has killed them as much as anything the last two years in the playoffs. That means the offense is less likely to be able to cover any defensive or special teams mistakes.
And, let's face it, those mistakes, yes one in particular, were huge. Hence Drayton seeking employment elsewhere.
Tschmack, it might be easier if you told us what players/parts of the organization that you DO like.
I like a lot of their players. Jones, Adams, Jaire, Kenny Clark, and the young OL. I even like Rodgers. I mean, heβs a sure fire HOF and is fun to watch. I just donβt like him in the postseason.
I like Gute and his ability to find decent players. I also like MLF and his playcalling ability. But I hate Ball and Murphy and the triangle of authority is holding back both MLF and Gute from realizing their full potential.
Brady has also made more $ than any player in history ...in addition, his wife's reported net worth is 400 million dollars.

Our tackles killed us in both recent playoff losses. I didn't understand why they started Turner at left tackle and why they didn't at least try Nijman there after it was obvious that Turner was struggling.
Yes, shame on that offensive line for telling Rodgers to cue on a double covered Adams and ignore wide open receivers

Fuck Brady and history. If you play more years, you have higher numbers

Right- because that's exactly what I said.....
I'm certainly not saying it was all on the oline but they sucked in both playoff losses. Rodgers deserves plenty of the blame as well. There were multiple factors that could have swayed the game in our favor and the Oline was one of them. As was Rodgers, as was Special Teams.
Finally, a great hire
The #Packers are expected to hire former #Raiders interim coach Rich Bisaccia as their new special teams coach, sources say. The unit was an issue in GB last year, and coach Matt LaFleur goes a long way toward fixing it. Bisaccia is universally respected.

Kiel is excited, the team finally looks more like him.
Jesus God of almighty fucks - Thank you!
Just get into the top 20 would be a massive improvement.
There is a god π

Even if they were still last but improved to the point that they could function at the level of a Big 10 team on special teams would be an improvement.
If there was a way to screw something up on special teams, they covered it completely last year. Bad holds, bad snaps, hooked kicks. Blocked FGs from the outside rusher, blocked FGs from inside rushers, blocked punts. Gave up a punt return for a TD. Fielding a kick and running out of bounds at the 5. Muffed punts. Allowing onside kick recoveries. Too few men on the field for the last play of the year.
Yet sadly - you are still only scratching the surface on the miscues

βSources sayβ? After decades of being disappointed by STβs I will only believe it when the Team Site posts it.
That source is very good. He's the yang to Schefter's ying. Rap has always had very good Packer info.
From Ben Fennell: ...for those keeping track, Bisaccia hasn't had a kick or punt blocked from his ST units in 5 seasons

Unacceptable behavior

Do you think it makes a difference if Rodgers was feeling heat all game so his decision making wasn't the best? That's what QB pressures and sacks are about.
So, I could imagine the priority was 1) Don't get murdered. 2) Try to get the ball to the guy who I know will catch it.
QBs make shitty decisions with a DE in their face.
Anyways, as far as ST, the FO better put real players on the field instead of sucking up roster spots with UDFA potential that don't offer shit. You're going for it all now. Save your diamonds in the rough shit for when you rebuild.
Sounds like they may actually land a real ST coach. Thatβs pretty exciting.
Canβt remember the last time they had a decent kickoff or punt returner. I miss those 90s teams.

Here's the new long snapper. Just absolute ass rockets to compensate for Fat Fingers Bojo.

I forget the kids first name, I believe his last name is Hill and before tearing his ACL, that was who the Packers penciled in as their returner. It was not supposed to be Amari.
With the Packers having needs at WR, I really hope they draft a burner who's a good returner. That MVS was the only WR with true speed was, well, stupid.

JF - Now more then ever....I really wonder what sites you frequent or what you type into google
Packers need a Deebo/Tyreek Hill type Swiss Army Knife guy. They are out there.
When is the last time the swiss army won a war.
I want to believe. But I can't help but wonder if Bisaccia will make the Packers better of if the Packers will make Bisaccia worse.
until they come up with a 33rd team. Can't get much worse then dead last by a longshot
This would be a fantastic hire. Gives a lot more negotiating power to the Front Office to restructure Rodgers and keep the core team in place for another run in 2022. Packers continue to be Rodgers' best shot at a Super Bowl run.
Unfortunately a year too late.

They'll be 5 next year.
Hubris!
From II on Packers.com
"According to Rick Gosselin's annual rankings, Bisaccia didn't have a top-10 unit with the Raiders (11th last season was their best finish with him), but he posted eight top-10 rankings over 16 years with the Buccaneers, Cowboys and Chargers."
The bar is very low in Green Bay and I doubt he'll have any trouble clearing it.
