I was hoping for  Bisaccia because he is Packer people and has 20 yrs ST experience. Joe Judge’s ST ranked higher than Bisaccia but he is reportedly a jerk and probably taking a paid year off anyways.

Here’s to Bisaccia creating a culture of competence and winning STs.

To get back on topic, I met John Denver in a hotel bar once. I didn’t see God with him but it doesn’t mean he wasn’t there…

From Packersnotes yesterday (before signing was official ) :

Not only would Biasucci bring competence to special teams for the first time this century, but he’d be a great addition to the entire roster. Dozens of players from the Raiders have lavished praise on Biasucci in the past few weeks. It was an outpouring of affection that’s seldom seen in the NFL. Here’s just one example from corner Nate Hobbs’ Instagram account:

β€œDear coach… Honestly I don’t [know] where to begin. So I’ll start by saying I love you. Since I was 12 I didn’t really have a father figure in my life till later, after a while he passed away too. In 2021 coach gruden stepped down and you became my head coach. That year I met another man in my life that believed in me and loved me like a brother. A feeling I hadn’t felt in so long. You were the only person I would allow to curse me out severely then tell me that you love me 2 hours later lol. One thing [I] admired about you so much is that when things gotta hectic, the more you appeared to remain even more poised. 2 things you taught me in this lifetime I’ll carry for the rest of my lifetime. β€œNobody give a f*ck”, and β€œPut a lil love in our heart and a smile on ya face”. Coach you had my back and believed in me when thousands didn’t. And for that I LOVE YOU!”

When Murph allowed Silverstein to run with the quote last week from a personnel guy from another NFL team about how Ted never gave a rat's ass about Special Teams and Gute has followed in his former boss's footsteps and also  recounted how poor STs play contributed mightily to the 2014 and 2021 NFC Championship game losses, it signified the Packer organization was, finally, admitting it had a systemic STs problem.

The hiring of a legitimate STs coach in Bisaccia is likely to be just the first step in the recovery process.

I look forward to STs improving to at least average within 2-3 years ... or just about the time the Love era should be taking off ... if all goes well.

What's your point?  He never took a paycut.  Did he win them on his own like you think Rodgers should?

He never took a pay cut? Oooh, let’s hang him.

Better question. What’s YOUR point, this continuous need to yak on and on about his failure to take a pay cut?

Bottomline, go back 10 years. His cap numbers are always significantly below Rodgers’. Who gives a fuck how he achieves that? Not every year, but large majority of them he is waaay below.

So basically a non-answer.  Got it.

My point has always been to refute the likes of yourself who want to piss down there leg over one player, albeit an important player, instead of recognizing the organization as whole is failing.

Your defense?  "Well they can't do anything with Rodgers taking up a huge portion of the cap!  Look at Tom Brady!".  Rodgers has restructured twice clearing 20 million cap space in the last 3 years.

That is my point.

I agree having a guy like Italian Name Guy will be good all around.  Any positive influence, especially with the young guys he'll be directly coaching, can only be a good long term solution.

Plus, a possible viable HC candidate if shit goes south.

As someone of Calabrese and Sicilian heritage, I welcome RB. Hope he makes all the current ST fuckups an offer they can't refuse.😁

Your point sucks. The statistics say no one has won the Super Bowl carrying more than 12% of the cap. No one has been special enough to overcome that. Definitely not Aaron. That’s not an accident. It is a team sport. One guy can’t take that much. I don’t give a shit how that is achieved. Pay cut or not, just leave some money on the table for your teammates.

You mean like the 20 million he cleared in the last 3 years?

Hate to tell you this but Rodgers didn't set the market for QBs.  So take it up with the league and quit pissing about Rodgers only.

I don't give a shit if you don't like him, that's personal.  His act has worn thin but the cold hard facts are this, he's the guy that gives you best chance.  So you either build around him for real or burn it all down.  Passing up any shot at a Super Bowl just because your ilk is butthurt over Rodgers isn't very smart.

Maybe if the FO started doing that pre-2021 with the first restructure all this shit last year along with all the last minute pick ups wouldn't have happened.

Just imagine having cap room and a plan months in advance to actually build around Rodgers instead of dicking around as usual "for the future".

From JSO:

If the Packers can’t reel in Bisaccia, a good alternative has arisen: former Baltimore Ravens special teams coach Jerry Rosburg, who along with head coach John Harbaugh made the Ravens one of the league’s best on special teams from 2008-19.

Rosburg, a source said, is trying to get back into the league after retiring in ’19 to spend more time with his family. The Ravens ranked in the top five in special teams in each of his final seven years.

at least it sounds like we have a nice baxkup plan if Biasucci flames out.

He's already the best ST's coach we've had in 20 years..

If it’s Rodgers v Jordan Love, well no shit 12 gives you a better chance to win. But let’s stop with aspirations of the Super Bowl.  There is absolutely no proof or hope that 12 can get them there.

That’s where I’m at.  If you want to win another NFC North title and maybe a playoff game then mortgage the future and bring Rodgers back.   For a lot of people- including MLF and the FO - that’s good enough.

But we need to stop talking about Rodgers leading this team to postseason greatness because he’s not that guy.  Could he luck into another title?  It’s possible.  But if you have a chance to reset the organIzation in one year with picks and players so be it.  I’m sure this FO will find a way to screw things up.

What can’t happen is to let Rodgers walk after 2022 and not get anything back in return.
