Twenty-five continuous years of a HOF QB behind center and they'll probably only have 2 SB wins to show. Wow.

My statement is not an indictment of either QB. The teams 'built" around them should've been capable of winning more than one each IMO. There's plenty of blame to go around.

No more of a straw man than "who would you replace him with?" TT is paid to find the guy, maybe he needs to earn a little more on that side of the ledger. Continuity is great as long as there are trues ebbs and flows, but this has become an utter ****show in Mike's specialty.

It's admirable that he defends them like this in public. But, he better be sticking his foot up their ass in private if he actually believes it is a winning 1-on-1's issue. I'm fairly certain he isn't doing the latter. There might not have been a schism between Rodgers and McCarthy before, but there may be one festering. While Rodgers hasn't been Rodgers much over the past 20 games, when he's had success it is when they've gone off script. I don't believe school yard is sustainable, but when...

Something about that last paragraph rings true with me. Yeah there is a multitude of ways to fix a bunion but I know what works for me and that's how I fix it. Do "what you do" if you will but at least do it well and the Packers simply are not. There is just no identity. I know much of this discussion about the coaching both on offense and defense and to be honest it wouldn't be upset to see come changes but yesterday it is an execution thing for me. Offensive, you have a Jordy over throw...

I usually don't watch all of ESPN's playoff coverage but I did last night. They had a show before the actual rankings coming out with some random ESPN tools (redundant I know) talking about the playoffs. And I am starting to wonder what their criteria is for putting teams in. One of the things they discussed was if they should put teams in there if they don't think they match up well. And I will give you ONE guess which team they were showing on the screen when they said that. Yep Wisconsin.

I watched some show on ESPN at lunch today and they were talking about if the B1G champion should be left out, and all they talked about was that Penn State should have a chance but they won't. Never even MENTIONED the Badgers. That show has apparently already given the B1G title to PSU.

I noticed the same thing the other night and on ESPN radio the last day or so. PSU is talked about (they should be they deserve it) but not much about UW usually and if they do they mention their losses or they are boring etc. right on queue they were talking about how the committee may want to have the best matchups in the playoffs and who do they show? yep UW.

IN all seriousness yes, the division is still there to be had. As far as getting hot and making a run if they do get in...not so much. I do think MM is gone barring a Super Bowl. I think TT gets one more year, if he wants it. IN pro sports coaches go first then the responsibility falls on the players and if the crap show continues then they will start to see the exit door.

You are right man, that just goes to show how bad our division is right now. If they can take care of business in division (win all 3 at the end of season) and win 3 of the next 4 games. They finish 10-6 and that would be good enough. 9-7 might be cutting it.. so 2-2 coupled with winning the last 3 might be good enough too... but they need to win those division games for certain.

The guy did say that for him he did not see the explosive speed. To me that means the change in gear right off the line that gets initial separation. But it does show him catching the ball in traffic. And he did not have the same coach or offensive system for 2 years in a row in college - and had to change his body type given the role he was to play. And all this maybe results in a player with not quite enough skill in any one area to flash at the pro level consistently. I think the guy in...

The good: Once again, a lot of individual players having good performances that amount to nothing in the end. Spriggs was probably the nicest surprise. The bad: Anything and everyone that has any connection to our current defense. To say that we have been decimated by injury would be an understatement. And we have guys playing hurt who have no business being on the field, but they are put out there to trot around the best they can simply because there's nobody else available. Our veterans,...

The D is playing a lot of guys that aren't full time starters either by skill or by inexperience. Why does "Joe Thomas look bad"? Because he's a 3rd ILB/rover that makes plays while the other two starting ILB's do their job. Problem is we were out of starting ILB's the last two weeks so he's been forced to start. Add a topping of Sam Bradford and I don't know how you wouldn't struggle. " Why do Rollins and Gunter look so bad"? Because one isn't ready to start, may still be injured and should...

Show us where he in particular has "played very poorly" this year. Getting beat a couple times deep? Happens to the best of them, especially when your safeties are already on the plane. Early in the year Shields was still starting and Randall and Rollins were being rotated in regularly. He showed more than enough as a rookie to suggest he will be a player. But again, with all the injuries (and he may still be injured), he has been CB#1 since getting back on the field. And being surrounded by...

Show you? While Randall played well as the other starter against the Jaguars, Rollins was benched midway through the game in favor of Gunter, who also struggled.-ESPN Quinten Rollins allowed two touchdowns on three targets while Kentrell Brice allowed two catches for 49 yards with 33 yards coming after the catch.-Washington Post THUMBS DOWN The Packers used Randall in the slot for much of camp, but inexplicably they went with Quinten Rollins there in the nickel package. It should have been a two point attempt from the 12. The two point attempt never happens if Dick Prescott doesn't slide before the first down and then fumble the snap on 3rd and 1. Dick Presotts brain fart doesn't matter if Thielen catches a punt. Normally Thursday night games suck because of the short week. Both teams had a week to prepare. This was pretty much a **** show from the start. And I found the play and the outcome positively perfect.

I have to admit, I didn't see this coming. At 4-6 I was all about losing out, getting rid of all coaches/GM, and hoping for a great draft. I'm not sure they will pull it off, but I'm all in after this. I just wonder where this type of play was during the skins/colts/titans stretch. (I'm sure someone can pull up that previous post if need be) I stand corrected and I guess it just goes to show that Dr's don't know as much as they think. Other than the win. The best positive was a Seattle defense thinking they were going to show the rest of the NFL they were still great without Thomas. And while I think they are still a very very good defense it was stunning watching them dissolve into an undisciplined meltdown tossing out cheap shots. I could watch the clip of Chancellor and Wagner imploring the defense to get it together after giving up a fast 21 to GB for hours. I guess you could say it worked. They held GB to 17 the rest...

Grave Digger ·
To CU's point, I think he just takes fewer risks in the 4th Q compared to other quarters while opponents take more risks because they're behind. I think most of the game they play a high risk/high reward defense that either forces turnovers/sacks/punts (vs. Seattle) or allows easy points if someone fuks up (vs. Tennessee). When you have a lead in the 4th do you really want to continue to play high risk football? The D needs to close better, but the strategy is to keep the O in front of you...

Couldn't agree more. The 4th quarter "protection" scheme is just ****ing idiotic. You can play percentage football still and at least convert a couple of first downs even if you don't score. I don't see how total ball protection to the point just taking a damn knee makes a lick of sense.

Yes they are. Opponent Passer Rating is # 2 in the league https://www.teamrankings.com/n...e-team-passer-rating Packers beat Giants, Seahawks and vikings, other teams that are top ten in opponent passer rating Having corners who can cover means teams can use the safeties like movable chess pieces and that's when good things happen for the defense. Saw a great breakdown of this play on NFLN the other day and it actually proves my point. Cobb is the primary target. Cook is supposed to run right at and then under the safety, drawing him up and to the left and away from Cobb. Cook gets jammed at the LOS throwing the timing off. Notice how hard Cook tries to get off the jam and get to the safety. AR sees Cook get jammed up and looks to his check down but he stays calm in the pocket and eventually Cook does his job and Cobb opens up just as...

Sorry, from this picture there's nothing wrong with the play made by Hall. The crown of his helmet is in front of Jordy's body. His facemask is jammed in Jordy's ribs, but if the rule is the crown of the helmet, I just don't see that. In real time I thought it was illegal, but all the stills I've seen show the crown clear of Jordy's ribs.
