Re: Positives and negatives

Grave Digger ·
Saying McCarthy should be fired is easy. Offering a real solution is the difficult part. Who do you replace McCarthy with is a legit question? Go to perennially underachieving HC lIke Lovie Smith? Bring in an up and comer with no HC experience like Darrell Bevell? Or steal from the Belichick tree with Matt Patricia or retread Josh McDaniel? Yeah it's been 6 years since McCarthy won a SB, Bill Cowher went a decade after losing a SB before he even went to another. He kept his team in the hunt...

I guess the question is: what do you want him to say? What do you want any of these guys to say? Of course they know it's partly their fault, they're more frustrated than fans are. What does it matter what they say, do you think it's going to make you feel better? McCarthy isn't going to say it's all his fault because it's not and he's not going to throw anyone under the bus, which he shouldn't. Same for TT. It's not 100% his fault, so why would he say it is? He's not going to get up and say...

There are actually a few players who need to have their 2017 cap hit adjusted based on their production...Matthews will hit us for 15.2 million, Cobb for 12.75, Shields for 12.125, and Nelson for 11.55. All should be candidates for restructure as that is an absurd list of cap hits for the production. -Clay's glorious return to OLB has him on-track for a dominating 25 tackles and 5 sacks. Do we want to be on the hook for 15 mil this time if his hamstring flares up again for weeks at a time.

That punt return for 7 is 100% on Oakland. After the penalty you don't kick to the middle of the field and expect a tired coverage team to cover again. Kick that ball into row 2 and move on.

Carr's accuracy was off last night likely due to the damaged 5th digit on his throwing hand in that cold. 100% health to the throwing hand and 50 °F or better temps and the fade likely works. Still, RTFB and they get the 1st.

Just to piggyback off of this, when I checked the the506.com it listed us as getting the LA game here in San Diego. That's ok though, I do have the streaming Sunday Ticket, so I'd just watched it there. At some point before Sunday they switched the game on the local affiliate and I hadn't checked again. But, obliviously, I loaded up the game on Sunday Ticket and it worked fine until the fourth quarter even though it should have been blacked out. So I'm refreshing the game thread here, and...

Right on Boris! I agree 100% In both those losses the O was held to 20 points, I don't see that happening this Sunday. We may lose, but we're scoring more than 20 points. Score early, score often and don't let up. I like our chances in a shoot out.

I don't. I assure you Garrett is preaching 2 things this week to his team RTFB No turnovers Wear down the Packer defense with the running game & try to keep Rodgers off the field. It's the only defense against him right now. That Giant defense was the best in the playoffs. I'd probably put the Patriots & Chiefs 2a & 2b. Seattle & Dallas defenses can both be torched. Who wants to see a Green Bay & ATL rematch for the NFC Championship Game? They might score over 100 combined

I don't have any question that during the 4 game losing streak there was one serious come to Jesus meeting at 1265. I will always believe some nasty thoughts were aired. By all involved. And somehow everyone got busy getting busy. I'll always give credit to Mike for pulling a sinking ship out of the water. That's coaching on the highest level. But I also think Aaron has always been Aaron. He didn't forget how to play QB. It required buy in and sell out by everyone. Aaron stating he maybe got...

Leon put his helmet down and led with it. Now I believe he thought Jordy would catch the pass clean and thought his helmet was the best tool to try and break that pass up. Jordy went back up with his hands and his ribs took 100% of Leon's helmet. Regardless Leon did what the NFL is (allegedly) trying to stop. When Cobb went with his all world subtle push to create his 1 yard window on the Hail Mary that was Leon on the recieving end of that push. Karma works in mysterious ways and on its own...

I am not sure how the Packers can compete. The Vikings have the most talented team in the history of the NFL. Just ask their fans. Cousins is so much better than Rodgers, the Vikings coach is legendary and will be seen as Lombardi-Shula-Bellichech- esque in just a few short years. Their GM never makes any mistakes in teh draft and probably have the deepest team in depth that has ever been established. All this chatter about AR and his knee... will he or won’t he play? Does he get “shut down?” Please.... The guy has a sprain, most likely to his MCL. He’s 100% playing. Similar to the Bare game, he’ll wear a sleeve and do his work in the shotgun/pistol. I see a lot of TE sets to help with protection and short to intermediate passing. Oh... and GB wins the game. **** old one-eye and his team.

100% agree that in the end Gutey "is swinging for the fences to be better from 2023-2033." But by selecting Love, Gutey also did almost nothing in round 1 of the 2020 draft to make the Packers better in 2020, 2021, and quite possibly 2022 (other than add a better backup QB). There was a significant COST (forsaking immediate potential help) to go with the potential down the road BENEFIT of taking Love. The philosophy of emphasizing franchise stability over time versus focusing on taking...

Packers led heading into the 3rd 21-13. Gave up 10, and Al Del Greco kicked a 47 yard FG to go up 24-23 with a minute to go. Then that piece of crap Butler kicks a 52 yarder to win it. When the Celtics beat the Bucks, the Bucks failure offensively exasperated real defensive issues that emerged in the third Q (38-18). The Bucks proceeded to give up 74 total second half points- can’t win too make games when you simultaneously shoot 31% from three and also give up 74 points in a half. The defensive issues have been worked out, all things being equal. Boston were successful keeping the Bucks out of the paint in that game as well. Now the Bucks will lapse for maybe part of a...
