Re: 2016 (Team 96) WK14 Seahags @ GB GDT
He already got it, months ago. I'd still wager he's going to get fired, though. Kroenke loses all credibility with LA fans if he doesn't. It's not like he can't afford to eat the contract.

Just saw my error GD. Still, I get that these guys are barely adults but I just can't imagine risking NFL money for smoking weed. If the rule was you can't eat after midnight, I wouldn't eat after midnight. I don't care if I agree with it or not, it's the rule of my employer who is going to pay me insane amount of money.

Re: Let's Talk Cowboys (Divisional Playoff Game 1/15/17)
I am clearly on record as attributing a large percentage of the team's success in recent years to AR. More than MM's coaching abilities. More than TT's ability. During the past three seasons there have been periods, sometimes multiple weeks, when the offense has looked like something that even the Cleveland Browns would be embarrassed by. During these periods some people say receivers aren't getting open. I've often complained that MM fails to dial back the "scramble around and try to hit a...

Re: Gruden's Grunts vs McCarthyism's Kids
I wouldn’t agree that Clay “can’t” get to the QB, but he clearly isn’t as effective as he once was. At this point in his career, I think he can be an outstanding MLB. No reason not to put him there and let Gilbert eat snaps at OLB.

Re: 🍻 @ 🇱🇷
Granderson would be fine, but they need more pitching. Just another guy to eat up innings and keep games from getting blown open. The pickup that has helped keep the bullpens arms from falling off has been Miley. For a guy that has been terrible for several years now (he had an ERA of around 5.50 in 62 starts in 2016-2017) he's been a pleasant surprise. He's made 9 starts since coming back in July and goes 5-7 innings every time with no more than 3 earned runs. He was absolutely huge...

Re: 2020 NFL Draft Viewing Thread DAY 2/Day 3
I feel about the same way as you. The first 2 picks are interesting but there is high bust potential with Love. The 3rd pick, he'll likely be a contributor, but his ceiling is so low, at best he looks like an average H-Back type player with just about zero chance of ever being an elite TE. That's the kind of guy you might want to pick in the 5th round or lower. Hopefully the Pack finds some gems in the later rounds, but the 1st 3 picks have been just flat out bizarre. I'll root for them all,...

Re: 2019 Free Agency Moves/Trades/Releases
Ya, Brown would be a hell of a risk. Complete boom or bust in terms of team chemistry. Found it interesting his 2019 salary is about 12 mil. The Steelers, even in a trade, will still have to eat a lot of his cap number, which I believe is about 21 mil. Most pundits are guessing the Steelers will settle for a 2nd or 3rd

Re: Way early look at draft
Biadasz would be a good pick. We X4 fans would have to eat a little crow after all the grief we gave Spielman for drafting a Center with their first pick(Garrett Bradbury). I'd do it, though, as I've heard crow tastes like chicken. Some other guys I like at Center, who will most likely fall later in the draft, are Cesar Ruiz of Michigan, Jack Hanson of Oregon, Darryl Williams of Mississippi State and Zach Shackleford of Texas. Ruiz and Williams can play Center or OG. The versatility there is...

Re: 2019 (Team 101) Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings Game Thread.
Rodgers inaccurate, TO's, Receivers besides Adams having a hard time getting open. Outside of that the Pack is playing light's out. Given the circumstances, you cannot possibly be so susceptible to a delay of game that you eat your final timeout. That is WAY beyond belief. With the timeout, they could have run the ball and had a play left.

Re: It's Chargers Week
Don't really like the Chargers firing ultra-conservative Whisenhunt. The last 3 Packer-Chargers games with Rivers at QB have been 27-20 (with Rivers throwing for 488 yards and the Pack breaking up a pass in the end zone at the end of the game), 45-38, and 31-24. Pack won all 3. However, if SD opens up the Offense with K. Allen, M. Williams, Gordon/Eckler, and Henry they have some weapons. Rivers can eat up a soft zone.

Re: 2019 NFC Championship Game Thread: Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers
The Packers have a damned good GM, too. We added three players on defense that will be starters for a long time. The Smiths both played at Pro Bowl levels. He drafted our long term solution at safety and left guard. Rome wasn’t built in a day, guys. Trust the process. This game is an embarrassing loss. We’re going to eat a lot of shit from fans of other teams. That’s fine. This is a glaring flashlight on the areas we need to improve at.

Re: End of Season +/-
How did they play them tougher? Simple, they have faster defenses and DLs that can disrupt. Besides Kenny Clark nobody on this defense up front can really disrupt and the style they play isn't designed to disrupt. The front is there to eat up blockers. The other teams play more of a single gap and attack to try and disrupt plays.

Re: Amazing Article on Ted Thompson's Success
Ted Thompson will never volunteer for anyone's narrative. It's pretty amazing that he does not admit to any of the inspirational crap that gets piggy backed onto athletics in general and football in particular. A lot of fans eat that **** up and the wonks do everything they can to serve it up steaming. I don't know that I would be friends with TT but I sure do like the job he does in Green Bay.

Re: Interesting run defense observation
Exactly, the biggest change in Raji is that he is being allowed to use his biggest attribute, his first step quickness. All the way back to when he was drafted, many thought he was a better fit for tackle in a 4-3 scheme, not for what all NTs were doing at that time, which was just trying to eat up blocks. Raji never liked that role because it did not fit his skill set, knowing his strengths were going to be used has, IMHO, made him more motivated to get into better condition and...

Re: Denver Week
Denver's defense will eat this offense alive if they play like they did the last 2 weeks. This defense may be the best since the 2000 Ravens. They have 5 guys that can legit get after the QB (4 with Shane Ray out) and they might have the best nickel secondary in the NFL. They are vulnerable against the run, so really hoping Lacy and Starks are ready. Our defense should dominate. The Broncos will be the worst running team the Packers will have faced thus far, so should be able to shut them...

Re: Interesting run defense observation
It also appears that Raji is at times being allowed to play to his strength, which has always been quickness, and penetrate, rather than just "eat up blockers".

Re: Here we go: Pluses/Minuses
I miss seeing Rodgers under center, taking a three-step drop and firing the ball to a just-breaking receiver (Jennings, Jordy, Driver, whomever) and watching them eat up yards. I think they could still do that a lot with Jordy, Cobb, Cook and Abbrederis. Rodgers and DeValued maybe aren't quick enough to do that, but why not have the guys who can do so? It's been noticed time and again the Packers route tree is too predictable.
