Re: Why We Won/Why the Vikings can still go ****.q themselves
Positives: The offense is back to 2014 levels. They might be even deeper in weapons with Cook a threat at TE they didn't have that year. Negs: Making Adam Thelen look like a combination of Ahmad Rashad and Cris Carter.

Re: Trade Season
Rumored to be centered around Joey Gallo. But I'm not sure he fits the profile of a Stearns player. Seems to me that he has been targeting more tools oriented guys with an emphasis on OBP and speed. Gallo brings 80 power, but has struggled at AAA and a small sample in the bigs. He truly is still a wildcard and a big boom or bust potential. We are talking .260 50hr type guy or a 25hr guy who hits .220. Seeing we don't have a ton of young guys with serious pop.... he'd be a nice guy to plug in...

Re: Bucks trade MCW
That's the thing with Hammonds. He isn't afraid to take gambles and usually it seems to work out. He drafts Joe Alexander who flames out but also drafted Giannis who was easily the best player in that draft with All Star capability. Larry Sanders is another classic Hammonds move as was Brandon Jennings. He parlayed Jennings for both Middleton and Knight. Talk about a fleecing. We all know what happened with the Tobias Harris - deal ugh. Sometimes those trades work out and other times they...

Cris Carter should already be in, IMO. Parcells seems like the slam dunk of this list. Tim Brown deserves it, too.

Re: Hall of Fame Finalists. Who's getting in?
Carter (hated his attitude, still dislike him) and Brown were both great players. People just don't talk about them as much because they played for second rate teams with mostly second rate QBs. Cortez Kennedy is another guy that is overlooked because he played on a losing team most people didn't pay attention to.

In the cut down to ten, Jerome Bettis, Tim Brown, Eddie DeBartolo, Kevin Greene and Will Shields were the first 5 out of HOF consideration. In the next cut, Cris Carter, Andre Reed, Charles Haley, Aeneas Williams, Bill Parcells and Will Shields dropped. Leaving 5 finalists (plus Seniors reps): Dermontti Dawson, Chris Doleman, Cortez Kennedy, Curtis Martin, and Willie Roaf. Selectees are: Jack Butler (Seniors), Dermontti Dawson, Chris Doleman, Cortez Kennedy, Curtis Martin, and Willie Roaf. I...

Re: Hall of Fame Finalists. Who's getting in?
Do I have Cris Carter overrated? I can't believe he's waited this long, only to be denied again. Maybe the reputation he cultivated in his playing days is hurting him now. The lack of a championship is also a major hinderance, I suppose. I mean, if Michael Irvin, who makes CC look like an altar boy, can find his way into Canton, I find it really surprising that Carter's still on the outside looking in. Again, maybe never going to the big dance and winning it has something to do with this as ...

I can't stand the Vikings. Their stadium, their fans, their helmets, their former QB's, Paul Allen, that stupid horn, Jarred Allen, Chuck Foreman, Sammy White, Joey Browner, Chris Carter, Anthony Carter, Randy Moss, that trash bag roof, Zygi, Robert Smith, John Randle, Paul Krause, Tarkenton, Schaincoe, Chilly, Yary, and Ahmad Rashad. All of them! Christian Ponder - What Tim Tebow does when he's starving and the only place open is Hooters. Beat the Vikings asses. Again!

Re: Super Bowl XLVII game thread
On Mike and Mike this morning Cris Carter blasted Crabtree on that play in the EZ. He said Crabtree didn't put the guy on his hip to get the call. Instead, he ran right into him and that meant the ref could not make the PI call unless it was waaay obvious. Carter laid the blame squarely on Crabtree's running a poor route. It was pretty good stuff.

Re: Speed: What does it really mean in the NFL?
It is sort of amazing that guys that really didn't have great speed like Jerry Rice and Cris Carter both were tremendous players at the NFL level. Rice was regarded to run about a 4.55 as I recall and Carter was reputed to run a 4.8. Yet Rice in particular, do you ever remember someone catching him from behind as he'd beat a DB like a drum? Carter was somewhat limited by his speed as a deep threat, and yet he was still excellent at the short to intermediate routes. A guy like Terrell Buckley...

Re: Who stays. Who goes.
It's interesting the varying opinions on Benson. I personally thought he was worthless and not a good fit for the offense. Other people think quite differently. I've said it before, I like Harris, Starks, Green and Swain (when healthy) as a group. Also note that Cobb gets some carries as well. Maybe spend a lower pick if someone strikes your fancy but if not, I'm fine with this group (with the usual street FA's brought in for camp). EDIT: Carter on Mike and Mike thinks the Pack doesn't have...

Re: Who stays. Who goes.
For what it is worth I just heard Cris Carter on Mike and Mike and the Packers runnig game was being discussed. He said all running backs (when healthy) in the NFL have talent. Blocking and commitment to the run is what is needed for a good running game. To me that means open some holes, run the ball more and most backs are good enough to get enough yds to make the team balanced. I side with him, do not waste a high pick on a runner, there are very few that make a real difference.
