I just saw it. I am amazed at how intentional it looked. If he hit the player he "intended" to hit it would have been a chop block. Head scratcher. I would love to hear the behind the scenes story about it.
DeCastro just put his head down and went knee hunting. Even if it wasn't intentional for Pouncey it he looked bent on taking someones knee out.
Former #Packers receiver Tyrone Walker has been released from Seattle's practice squad
I was curious how much Velasco signed for. Apparently vet minimum ($715k). Van Roten is earning $480k for comparison.
oh boy...
stories at PFT:
Bucs replacing Josh Freeman with Mike Glennon
Tampa reportedly open to trading Josh Freeman

Vet minimum to go compete for the starting job in GB or vet minimum to go be the starter in Pittsburgh. It takes two to tango and I think more often than not fans mistake a player not wanting to sign with GB for GB not wanting to sign a player.
3 starting wolfpack QBs in the NFL!
still couldnt win a mediocre ACC...
When Freeman is cut loose at the end of the year I wouldn't mind seeing Green Bay kick his tires. The kid seems to have talent but needs some coaching. Of course with the dearth of QB talent in the league someone may actually bring him in to compete for a starting job.
From Wes Hodkiewicz: The Chargers have released former Packers ILB Terrell Manning to make room for T Steve Schilling.

LT Levi Brown was traded from the Cards to the Stealers today for a conditional draft pick. He was the fifth overall pick in 2007, picked ahead of All Day and Patrick Willis. He will be replaced by an undrafted FA, and our coaching staff does not expect a big drop-off in performance. He drove Card fans crazy.
I wish him well in Pittsburgh, but I am glad to see him go. I hung the knickname "The Sack Whisperer" on him a few weeks ago. We have a poll going on my home forum, 6% of Card fans are unhappy with the trade lol. We got better through attrition. He will do better as a guard, as an OT he will get Big Ben hammered.
And Vic So'oto on the IR.
So'oto... man, I thought I saw something in him his rookie year but it never came together. But, ala Flynn, talk about a guy hanging around collecting paychecks. Good for him.
@AdamSchefter
Filed to ESPN: Bucs have released QB Josh Freeman. Bucs tried to trade him but couldn't.
Gee, everyone knew they were going to cut him and when he clears waivers they can sign him for whatever he'll take instead of the $6 million plus he'd be owed under his contract. Shocker.
yet another Packer beater thrown in the trash bin.

Schefter says "Green Bay makes sense"
Yes. Jody posted the I simply selected the quoting feature
I wouldn't mind TT and MM talking to him and working him out. At one time he had some ability. Where it all went wrong is the key. Was it his ego? His attitude? Or was it Schiano, who seems like the world's biggest jerk? Freeman would be younger than Wallace, with more upside. The question would be if it is wise to sign him during the season or wait and see if he's still available after the season.
With Hoyer blowing out his knee last night, the Browns I would think would show interest..
Gramps should have it locked down.
On a side note, does anyone think Holmgren will ever work again in the NFL?
with Holmgren I think it might be mutual - I think they're both done with each other. He's cashed in all he could and nobody's gonna want him anymore.
Giants are trading for Jon Beason, pending physical.

Busing trading season so far.
This is just for kicks. With other teams in desperate need for offensive tackles I wonder what Ted would get for Newhouse ? He is better then the tackles that have been trade over the last couple of days.
Ted would never do a trade unless of he knew he had Sherrod coming back and someone offered him engought. even then I doubt Ted would make such a trade.
Newhouse better than Monroe or Brown? Wow, Brown isn't that great but I hope you don't have any drug testing in the near future.
Herschel the difference between the tackles that have been traded and Newhouse is close enought for goverment work. The point is there is a currently a shortage of pro level tackles. Next year Bulga will be back and Newhouse is a free agent. Even throught Sherrod out of the mix and the Packer should be set at the tackle postion for a couple of years.
Untill the trade deadline Ted may have a opperatunity for a trade. I doubt that he will make one. Agian the question is just for kicks.
There is currently a shortage of pro-level tackles and you are suggesting Thompson trade one away? If Bahk or Barclay go down Newhouse is a better than average fill-in. With him traded, who comes in?
Sherrod, on one leg.
Giants waive OL Dallas Reynolds
I know every time someone is released, there's always a call to "bring 'em in for a look".
This one just might make sense given the injury to GVR.
Reynolds appeared in all 16 games for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2012, making 14 starts at center after Jason Kelce went down with two torn knee ligaments in Week 1.
If it requires GVR to go to IR, I don't see a problem with that. He was unlikely to contribute this year, and I'd take Reynolds' experience over GVR's potential.
Here is a Mike Florio take on were Freeman may land. If he comes cheap Ted could sign him to a one year contract.
http://profootballtalk.nbcspor...freeman-destination/
Freeman leaving after one year would not be a bad deal for the Packers, but again he will have to come cheap. Did I mention that cheap(by NFL standards) is the operative word here.

I watched a lot of Reynolds when he was with Philly. He's not very good.
Josh Freeman signs with the Vikings.... one year deal.
Viqueens sign Josh Freeman, released by the Bucs just a few days ago.
The NFL's junk yard picks up another castoff.
"Put Freeman in the back, I'll find a place for him later."
Can't blame them, but the Vikings locker room must be an absolute mess. More than half the team wanted Cassel, who's been with them since TC, now they bring in Freeman who has questionable attitude, has missed meetings, etc. I wonder if Frazier was on board with this, or even consulted. If not, he's on the chopping block unless Minnesota gets to and wins at least one playoff game...
Queens are building a new stadium.
Frazier IIRC is in his last year.
AP isn't getting any younger nor is the Hill Billy.
They have to appear to fans like they are trying. But no doubt what little confidence Ponder had just got that much less by bringing him in.
Hillbilly's contract is up this year. He will probably go elsewhere since I doubt the Queens will pay him what he'll want as it's his last chance for a payday. And Williams is getting older.
And those new seat fees? Many fans are already saying no way and bailing out. Sometimes you just can't make this stuff up!
Sherrod, on one leg.
Temba, his arms wide.
Darmok and Jalad... at Tanagra.
I'm feeling a communications breakthrough here.
